I think they improve on the points that flanked the previous

I'll say we will get greater of the Honor.

Honor20 series has 3 phones(All have 32MP front cams)
1) Honor 20 Lite = Honor 20i released in China
2)Honor 20 (YAL-AL00 and YAL-TL00)
6.2 inch 1080p OLED (waterdrop notch).
6th gen optical/ Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Kirin 980, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB ROM & MagicUI 9.1.
48MP RGGB + 16MP ultra wide + 2x optical zoom.
Around 3500 mah battery, 22.5W charging, USB 3.1 & 3.5mm jack.
Single Speaker, No wireless charging or IP Rating.
3) Honor20Pro
6.5 inch 1080p curved(?) OLED (waterdrop notch or ?).
6th gen optical/ Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Kirin 980, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB ROM & MagicUI 9.1.
Same P30 camera setup + TOF .
Around 3900mah battery, 22.5/40W (?) charging, USB 3.1, 3.5mm jack & IR Blaster.
Single/Dual speaker (?), No Wireless charging or IP Rating.
Versus the competion:-
Its main competitor is the OnePlus 7 series.
Leave the hardware aside,
Magic UI vs O2 OS - Oxygen OS is the people's favourite even if Magic UI has more features, EROFS & is faster.
Coming to hardware,
as we still don't know the complete confirmed specs of any of these phones, let's make a blind guess of the main hardware.
If 1+ uses IMX 586 as main sensor in both phones & 1+7 has an ultra wide & 1+7 Pro has both ultra-wide & telephoto, then 1+7 series can only match camera hardware of Honor 20, and Honor20Pro will be the superior out of the four in camera hardware.
But 1+7 Pro's 1440p Notchless 90Hz screen will be unmatched.
1+7 series also has the lead with SD 855.
So overall, its a tough fight for Honor20 series & they seem to just have an advantage in camera department & 1+ takes the rest.
Hence only if Honor20 series undercuts 1+7 series with price, it will sell well.

Será un dispositivo de gama alta cuya memoria RAM ascendera hasta los 8 GB y llevará el último procesador Kirin 980.

Honor 20 series prediction
In true fashion of Honor's commitment towards design, fashion and technology, and being the parallel to the Huawei P30, I expect the Honor 20 to be a stunning piece of hardware with an emphasis on cameras. The internals would be the Kirin 980 with 6 or 8 GB RAM and 128 and above GB ROM options. The most interesting part to me is the rumor about the quad cameras and the expectation from Honor to pull off another unique design on the glass back of the phone. Hoping to see the best of Honor soon.

it should be good value for the moeny

The Honor series has always been fantastic devices. I expect this one to be greatest one to date

It should be the best of Honor in 2019.
Just make it All in one

https://www.gsmarena.com/honor_20_pro_render_appears_shows_off_the_quadcamera_setup-news-36603.php
GSMArena has posted a render of Honor 20 that shows off a quad-camera setup on the back.
They guess the cameras are 5x periscope telephoto unit + ultra wide-angle + standard + 3D ToF camera for depth information with Sony's IMX600 sensor.

The new device will have a 6.1” OLED panel with an under-display fingerprint scanner, and it could be the first Honor phone outside China with the technology (it is currently available only on the Honor Magic 2, a China-only smartphone). The chipset is said to be Kirin 980, coupled with three memory configurations - 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB.

A lot was leaked, I think the triple camera setup on the rear is a must, maybe (hopefully) improved from facing camera, fingerprint reader under the screen, please keep the headphone jack!

Since this phone is said to be “Pro”, its cameras are likely to be better than the Honor View 20 setup. The sources claim it will have a 40 MP camera just like the Huawei P30 Pro. The main shooter will be coupled with a 20 MP ultra-wide-angle cam and an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. There are also the usual Chinese software boosters like Gaming+, Link Turbo, CPU & GPU Turbo, etc.

As know honor for more modern and fashion way for cellphone
Will be colorful with curves . Red blue black purple
Powerful camera (front 24-35)
With 3 back cameras
I’m sure something will be new and stunning
Face face lock and maybe voice lock
Support 3D games and high quality speakers
I can Waite till next month to see it
Love you all

Lite, normal and pro should be the honor20 variants.

What I predict is it will have 3X or 5X Optical Zoom.

Expecting flagship specs

I think honor 20 series will come up with higher storage RAM and ROM plus the Mega Pixels will more powerful

http://www.sohu.com/a/308805041_223764?sec=wd
Honor President George Zhao spoke to reporters in the press conference of Honor 20i on April 17, Honor 20 series will be sent to DxO and got scores.
Just curious what the scores of Honor 20 Series on DxOmark, is it any possible to exceed Huawei Mate 20 or Samsung S10?

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Review

Hi All,
Might be useful for some. I bought my Redmi 3S from Mod Edit: Selling site link removed.
It comes with the Google suite preinstalled, so no messing around with ROMs or trying to sideload Google Play Store.
It was very reasonably priced at around £115 and was delivered within 3 weeks with no import duty to pay.
Good Points
Fantastic build quality and performance for the price
Decent camera
Amazing battery life
Not so Good Points
Fingerprint scanner was a little temperamental
Buttons not back lit
Problem setting UK as location
Design and Build Quality
The Redmi 3S takes the same form factor as the original Redmi 3. It's a fairly standard phone design with volume controls and power button on the right side, sim tray on the left side (dual sim or 1 sim + micro SD card)
At the top of the phone is the headphone jack, secondary mic and an infra red sensor - I was able to pair the phone with my Samsung TV but not my Freesat box. The bottom of the phone has the main mic and micro USB charging port.
The main body of the phone is made of aluminium, and at the back there are plastic sections at the top and bottom to improve phone signal. The top plastic section also has the camera and flash, with the fingerprint scanner just below, and the bottom plastic section has the speaker grille.
The phone feels robust to hold and definitely does not feel cheap.
Hardware & Performance
The Redmi 3S is a budget device but even still it has the relatively recent 8 core Snapdragon 430 processor and 3GB of RAM. These are specs that you are not going to get at this price point unless you buy from a Chinese retailer like Gearbest. At this price in the UK you'd get 2GB RAM and an older processor.
The performance was fine. Bear in mind this is not a flagship phone so if you are a hardcore mobile gamer then this is probably going to struggle but for myself in daily usage I had no issues at all.
Software
This runs Android 6.0.1, but features Xiaomi's MIUI 8 overlay.
Some people may not get to grips with this as it gives a more 'iPhone' feel than standard Android, your apps are installed directly to the homescreen and not put in the 'app drawer' so you'll need to make a lot of folders to group similar apps together.
One of the things that irritated me when I set the phone up was that you could not pick the UK as a 'locale' but as far as I can work out this is only for the Time Zone, and I picked Morocco which runs the same as GMT anyway.
There are a lot of built in features in MIUI which is great if you're a bit of a geek like me who enjoys fiddling with things, but if you don't then it works fine left alone
One of the good features for me was Child Mode, I could select a bunch of games and You Tube Kids app and set the phone so it only allowed access to these, so I could happily let my 5 year old free on the phone during a long car journey. It needs your password or fingerprint to revert the phone to 'normal' mode.
Camera
The camera was pretty good actually. For some reason it was only set to 'medium' quality by default, but when I put it into 'high' quality mode I was happy enough with the results. The photos were not as good as my old Honor 7 but again that phone was twice as much as the Redmi.
To put it into perspective, I've done a photo calendar as an Xmas gift and the photos from the Redmi look absolutely fine on this.
The Video camera wasn't the best to be honest, the clips takes looked decent enough but the sound quality was definitely not great.
Battery
The Redmi 3S has a massive 4100mAh battery which is just huuuuuuge, and it showed. In my daily usage, which is about 30 mins calls, a couple of hours browsing and about an hour streaming bluetooth audio I got by on about half an hour charging a day! I think there would be very few people that use a phone that much that would require them to charge this before bed time.
Other points
GPS was fine, I used Android Auto to pair this to my car and the GPS was quick to lock on and accurate with my location and directions.
The Bluetooth was fine for music and calls.
The screen is only 5 inches which is nice and compact, and although this is a 720 resolution screen it looked fine to me.
4G coverage - please bear in mind that this does not have Band 20/800 MHz, so if you are in the UK and on O2/Tesco/GiffGaff etc you won't be able to get 4G and will have to make do with 3G. Other networks will work fine with 4G, I'm on Vodafone and had no problems.
So I hope this has been useful to some of you. I know Xiaomi have just released the Redmi 4 but this has a 1080 screen so the battery is not likely to last as long, and the other specs seem broadly the same.

Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro announced with Kirin 810 and pop-up camera

Earlier this month, Honor began teasing a new launch in their X series, with several leaks confirming key features of the devices. Today, they unveiled the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro as the latest offering in their “premium mid-range” category. These devices don’t pack the same punch as Honor’s high-end phones, but they still offer a compelling package for a much more affordable price tag.
See full device specs here
The design of the two phones is incredibly similar. If not for a few minor differences, you may not be able to tell them apart. They both feature colorful models with an X-shaped gradient effect, very slim bezels, pop-up cameras, vertical camera arrangements, buttons in the same location, and plain “HONOR” branding on the back. It’s an attractive design that is, admittedly, becoming a bit stale.

The main external feature that differentiates the Honor 9X from the 9X Pro is the camera arrangement. The Honor 9X Pro has three cameras in a stack with the flash underneath. The Honor 9X has the same vertical arrangement, but the third camera spot is occupied by the flash, since the standard variant only has two cameras.
The Honor 9X and 9X Pro will be available in a variety of color options. As mentioned, this is a really nice looking design, but we’ve seen it a lot. Slim bezels with eye-catching gradient colors is not as unique as it used to be. The X-shaped pattern will appeal to users who want a flashy back similar to what we saw on the Honor View 20, while the black color variant will provide a more reserved and flat look.
Moving past the design, the Honor 9X Pro is the “Pro” model largely because of the extra camera. The 9X has a 48MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. Meanwhile, the 9X Pro has the 48MP main sensor, plus 8MP and 2MP secondary sensors.
A key features on both of these new devices is the presence of the HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC. The Kirin 810 is a big generational leap over the Kirin 710, and it claims to bring performance that is comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, if not better. Considering how the Snapdragon 730 is said to be Qualcomm’s third most powerful mobile processor, it puts into perspective how the Kirin 810 is placed. The Honor 9X Pro variant is also said to feature “liquid cooling”, though this is likely be a reference to a vapor chamber-based system instead of active water cooling.
Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro – Pricing and Availability
The Honor 9X will be available in China in Phantom Red, Phantom Blue and Magic Night Black colors, for a price of CNY 1,399 (~$203) for the 4GB/64GB variant, CNY 1599 (~$232) for the 6GB/64GB variant, and CNY 1899 (~$276) for the 6GB/128GB variant. The phone is on pre-order and will be available from July 30, 2019.
The Honor 9X Pro will be available in China from August 9, 2019, in Phantom Purple and Magic Night Black colors, for a price of CNY 2,199 (~$320) for the 8GB/128GB variant and CNY 2,399 (~$349) for the 8GB/256GB variant.

After the fiasco of software problems with the Axon 7 I don't think I would spend a significant sum on one of their phones again.
They really need to get their **** together....

Yeah that was quite the nightmare, especially with the ban and having a not good last update. Glad GSI's are doing the trick, but I think ZTE should work on their updates a little better.

I hope they survive the Trump administration fiasco of trade wars because their phones are very good.
I got my wife a new Mate 20 recently, as long as it's modern she won't care if it's on Android 10 or 11. She wouldn't have a clue and it will get 10 at least.
I don't care about the bootloader as modern Android is great as long as the OEM doesn't make it with too many bugs (looking crossly at ZTE).
My Axon 7 and Axon 7 Mini are both stock and it doesn't bother me from a feature point of view.
Rooting and modding them was all in the past because the OS was so fragmented and basic. Now it's just not a concern for me.
I'd have a new Huawei right now if needed. The new models coming out from now on are where the problem is, not the pre-existing ones.

Hopefully it won't give off enough heat to grill.
But the Pro model Pixel 6 from all I've been reading sure appears to be a show stopper!! Think I'll get a 5a in about 6+ months used. Looking forward to these though and I hope Google brings it 110% solid this year! If they don't it will definitely not be good for them that's for sure. Love my 4XL though! Hoping the 6 has zero issues and does all it's said to be able to do.

I'm hoping it cook's roms well in our Developer kitchens!
I'll be excited if Google makes a compact version of a Pixel 6.
A compact version smaller than my Pixel 4a. It would need analogue audio out, preferably via USB-C as opposed to the obsolete 3.5mm connector from the 1950's. My old Pixel 2 requires a relatively expensive pair of USB-C earphones with its own (crappy quality) DAC chip. I think the Pixel 5 doesn't provide analogue audio through the USB-C port neither (correct me if I'm wrong). I once had a Sony XZ2 Compact which provided analogue audio out through the USB-C port which meant I could use cheaper earphones and would ironically still sound better due to a better DAC chip built into the phone itself. I would love to have a compact Pixel which has a little fat form factor like a Sony XZ2 Compact. Am currently still using my Pixel 4a . I like it and all and was the best choice available to me at the time I had to buy a new phone, but is still too big to use single handed comfortably and is restrictive in my pocket when climbing around tight spaces on construction sites. There are other small phones out there, but they don't support custom OS with relockable bootloader such as GrapheneOS or CalyxOS.
I feel like Tensor Cores in Pixel 6 are built to run the 'TensorFlow' open source ML platform used in Pixel 2's portrait modes -- especially given that Google has dropped pixel 4's IR hardware based depth mapping entirely and has gone to single lense hole punch front facing cameras in favor of longer exposure times over infared sensors to do low light work.

Sarcasm aside, we don't know if this is real (another clearly fake one has also been spotted on Geekbench), whether it was using the latest software (if real), etc... Also, benchmarks don't always translate into real world use.
But if these numbers do turn out to be accurate, it will be disappointing for sure from a strictly benchmarking point of view without consideration of AI, etc.

When word was out that Google would be premiering their own TENSOR core CPU blah blah, people were carrying on about how it will blow everything out of the water... It was important then....
Now that initial; performance leaks suggest its nothing short of a mid spec CPU (at this state), it doesn't matter any more?

Did I say it doesn't matter? No, I said from a benchmarking point of view it would be disappointing. Of course that matters. But additionally, benchmarking is not the all end be all.
And like I said, we don't even know if this "leak" is real or even accurate. We'll actually have to wait and see what the benchmarks actually end up being before drawing any firm conclusions.

I believe its real, but i also believe there is still some more HW/SW tweaking to be done...
Bear in mind, Google have stated they this will be a premium priced device, so one would expect premium SW and HW.
Pixel camera HW and SW have always been sensational...
i want to ask about the availability of pixel 6? which countries do pixel 6 available?
