Redmi Note 4 Battery life with pie rom's - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

I'm not sure if it's problem with latest pie rom's: AOSP Extended, PixelExperience, Havoc OS 2.4, DotOS 3.0, because I saw few comments about bad battery life with this rom's and more specifically latest updates, or it's just because my battery can be damaged or just old. Let me know about your experience!
My SOT now is around 5/6h on wifi, don't have any screenshots right now.

Nitrogen vs Lineage - What's best?

Hey,
I've been running lineage for a while now, and it feels like the battery life dropped from cm13 where I could get like 9 hrs SOT, but now I get 6-7 hours SOT. Is Nitrogen any better?
Also, besides battery life, are there any big differences? More features? How often does it get updated? Any bugs etc?
I have fpc fingerprint scanner btw so I'm not switching because of that.
Do you think I should change rom? Why?
Omni.

NitrogenOS best stability, battery and performance.
Nitrogen os - faster, has more customization options, native support for goodix (but you can make it to work in almost any rom with correct fix and custom kernel), oms support, vulcan support and camera fix (lineage os hasn't this fix at default)

Best ROM for battery life for Redmi Note 3

I am using Resurrection Remix 16/04 build for a month now. I am getting 5-5.5 hours of screen on time. But I need to charge it in the evening for it be usable. It was not the case in MIUI. Is battery life better in MIUI ? Which custom rom is best for battery life ? I am not a heavy user just social media, youtube etc.
I used Nitrogen OS Oreo and battery was bad. I reverted to last miui stable and battery now is good.

Yeah same I am also thinking of going back to MIUI. There the battery life is good and I am facing LTE signal fluctuation every now and then on all custom roms. Don't know if its a common bug.
customised lineage umang nougat wth shadow kernel
It could be better if other people will share their tests
Aug 2017 build of viper os is best for battery......

You can check [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][8.1.0][kenzo] LineageOS 15.1[Nightlies]. I've moved to this ROM from NOS 8.1, when SOT times were decreasing (3-4 hours, even of WiFi) and I'm quite surprised with SOT on LOS. Please keep in mind, this SOT is only linked to WiFi - I didn't used mobile data at all with this charge. I'm using latest Agni kernel.
I can also post statistics using mixed usage (WiFi + mobile data) someday, if you are interested.

Pie Rom: Pixel Experience Vs AOSP Extended?

Hi everyone, after upgrading my redmi 5 plus to MIUI 10 and still disappointed about how notifications are handled, I am ready to make the big jump to pie custom roms(yes this is my first xiaomi device and attempt to flash a custom rom). I have narrowed my choice to Pixel Experience Pie vs AOSP Extended V6, which would you recommend to be as stable as MIUI? I am leaning towards Pixel Experience Pie but I am intrigued by how popular AOSP Extended V6 has become. I am also open to any other pie custom rom option that I am not aware of. I am NOT a customisations buff, I just want stability and best battery performance . Looking forward to any your suggestions, thanks
I would recommend PE-Extended as i am using it from day one and its amazing and stable rom with nice battery life.
P.S i only tried first two builds of AOSP Extended so i wouldn't know.

Wow thanks for your perspective, I may just have to download and test any roms I fancy to see for my self how they are.

Best Pie rom for battery life?

I've tried lots of Pie roms and most, if not all of them have very poor screen-on time, just about 5-6 hours. While on MIUI 9.5 - Android 7.1, I managed to get about 9 hours of SoT. Same usage: surfing the internet with Chrome, using Facebook and Messenger.
Which Pie rom has the best battery life at the momment? I use Pie because of its good compability with google camera and night sight mode, so I cannot use Android 7.1.
I'm using Havoc 2.7.
Pie ROMs I've tried: MIUI 10 EU Pie, MIUIPro 10 Pie, Havoc, RR, DotOS, DotOS Extended, crDroid, PE, PEX (PornAOSP), XenonHD, AEX, Decendants, Syberia, Oneplus 5T Port.
Thanks in advance.
Battery life depends mostly on kernel. I suggest you use a lightweight ROM that has less features and latest Dark Ages 4.9 kernel. For further battery tweaks, search for "KenVerse" channel on Telegram.
Use VIMB for performance and Dark Ages for Balance performance:good:.

OOS port ROMs vs AOSP/Pixel/LOS ROMs

Hey brother,
Can frequent ROM users please throw some light on. their expeirence with OOS port ROMS vs AOSP/LOS/Pixel ROMS.
1 opinion is that OOS ROMs are very smooth as seen on Oneplus Phones.
2nd opinion is that, OOS is a ported ROM and with developers working actively on AOSP/Pixel/LOS roms they are better than ported OOS ROMS.
what do you think?
I need a ROM on which i can settle down.
Need a good stable and smooth rom... need calll recording too....
I felt that with LOS based and AOSP based roms, they tend to stutter and lag after a few weeks..
especially noticed that while using gesture navigation.. for a few days it works well byut after that, the app switching glitches and single swipes dont work well. they tend to over fling to several apps past the most recent.
Currently I am trying OOS Stay the **** home edition...
I don't use gesture based navigation so I can't comment on that but I found crDroid to be as fast months later as on day one. I stayed with crDroid 5.9 for 4 months and currently on crDroid 6.4 for 2.5 months.

No I have only used crDroid till date. It had all the features I needed. Lots of customization, excellent battery backup, solid performance, very stable and practically bug-free, smooth UI. Tried PUBG 2-3 times and it ran fluidly. Not a mobile gamer though.
Only complaint in AOSP ROMs is that Hotspot is limited to Wifi N 144Mbps even in 5GHz band mode. In MIUI and other ROMs based on it the full 867Mbps Wifi AC is utillised. This was true in Pie ROMs as well.

Can't stand MIUI. Thinking of giving OOS a try.
Everyones need is different. OOS port ia really really good and stable. Doesn't feel like a port at all. But cannot use substratum. With Oxygen os.
I hardly use miui. Ads turns me off.
Evox, pixel experience are my choices wrt aosp. Nitrogen OS and unofficial aospa arr also good.
I almost flash rom everyday or once in two days.. ?
