Use the WTF INSTRUCTIONS for Bootloader unlock, install TWRP and root.
During that process you will also convert your LS998/AS998 to US998.

You will need to convert the firmware of your variant into a US998 before you can download any roms or root. Then you can root your phone. After you go through that process, you can finally download and install roms.

Yes, what @XCaliburX said. For the North American variants only the US998 firmware has the necessary fastboot flash commands for the Oreo bootloader unlock exploit. You have to convert to US998 (at least temporarily) to bootloader unlock and root.
This does not apply to the European, Middle East, Asian variants. See the links @XCaliburX's post.

Wait. EU H930 is incompatible with US998 20H.
Do you have more than one phone? Because yesterday you were all over the EU H930 Pie thread, flashing that KDZ repeatedly on your phone.
You should never flash European firmware over North American variants and vice versa.
Here a couple of weeks ago you said you have H931:

So, why were you flashing EU H930 Pie on your phone yesterday? You are going to brick your phone.
If you indeed do have H931 (which seems to be the case, since you say it's "AT&T"), then you need to go back to Frankenstein and start over. Flash US998 Nougat, Master Reset, then US998 Oreo and STAY there until North American Pie is released.

You need to do the Master Reset after flashing US998 Nougat to stabilize it. Until then you will get bootloop. That's why Master Reset is there.
To me, at least, it seems you aren't following the instructions.

This is not really the right place to ask this question, so the thread will be moved by a mod. Q&A Section is better. (EDIT: Mod just moved it. Thank you!)
To update AS998, see Frankenstein instructions. Convert to US998, then update to latest Oreo US998.

You keep saying that in several non-relevant thread... but do you mean stock LG Pie or Linage-based custom ROM Pie? Stock firmware Pie is still being rolled out.
(I'm still on rooted Oreo firmware myself.)
If you want Lineage custom ROMs then you need to bootloader unlock and root, and flash custom ROMs. See WTF INSTRUCTIONS for that.
If you want just stock firmware Pie update, then convert to latest US998 Oreo and wait for US998 Pie. See Frankenstein instructions.
Or what I've done -- bootloader unlock, install TWRP, root, THEN update to latest Oreo US998.

Yes, you can convert regional carrier AS998 to US988, using the Frankenstein instructions.
READ them carefully. Follow them carefully.
The only caveat is some AS998 were actually former LS998 converted by eBay dealers, using Octopus box to carrier unlock the Sprint LS998. In at least one instance, an AS998 user could NOT successfully Frankenstein to US998 -- due to something the Octopus box "broke".

Then follow the Frankenstein instructions to convert to US998.
US998 Nougat
Master Reset
US998 Oreo. Go to 20h directly if you don't care about bootloader unlock and root. Or go to US998 20a temporarily, use WTF instructions to bootloader unlock, then go to US998 20h.
Wait for US998 Pie.

I followed Frankenstein instructions and here is how it went:
1. Flashed (PARTITION DL) NOUGAT US998 but after connecting to LGUP again it still showed AS998 and UPGRADE to Oreo US998 was not allowed.
2. Flashed (PARTITION DL) Oreo US998 and it worked.
3. Flashed (UPGRADE) Pie downloaded from here.

I have an unlocked lg v35 isai with unlocked sim but I tried to flash it with H930 kdz to unlock bootloader everything is working except that no signal ....
I tried to flash us998 but no sucess keep restarting .

For anyone wondering YES he does have a V30+. Just for some reason in Japan, instead of US998, LS998, H930, whatever, they called theirs "LG V35". Which is totally confusing as a few months later LG released ANOTHER phone called LG V35.
Their version of the V20 was called "V34"
Their version of the V30 then is the V35.
See here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77581027&postcount=3
Also here:
https://www.lg.com/jp/mobile-phone/lg-LGV35
You can tell it's really V30+, because it says so and specs show Snapdragon 835.

I tried searching with Google for their firmware and couldn't find it posted anywhere. No, I didn't use that resource because I don't have their IMEI. But I wonder if ISAI is like AT&T and Sprint and don't publicly release KDZ?
But hopefully your suggestion will work for them!

If you look at the link it shows you downloaded various partitions like modems. You should be able to use Partition DL mode to install those partitions through LGUP?
partition dl cant flash separate image only kdz or tot message appear when try to flash modem in partition dl
I too made an LG UP dump of all partitions on my H932 long ago, but I don't think there is a way to flash those dump files back with LG UP. If there is, I'd love to know.
I believe they can be turned into TWRP flashable zip files, but that's another matter.
Hello friends, I do not know if I have really damaged my phone. It is the h931 model converted to us998. Because of my desire to have a foot, I installed a KDZ of the European model h930. At the beginning the rom started without problems, after I noticed that it had no signal, I installed the Oreo us998 modem and it was still without a signal, so I went back to oreo us99820h and when it starts the screen it is welcome, the touch does not work for me. You screwed up.
NEVER NEVER NEVER flash stock H930* firmware over any North American variants. It says so in all the Instructions.
You ignored all warnings. WHY? Every Pie H93O* KDZ and TWRP flashable zip says "ONLY for H930, H930G, H930D, H930DS. Do NOT ask if others can flash this!"
Flash back to US998 Nougat to repair your damage. PARTITION DL, all partitions in Dev Patched LGUP.

Exactly, I think that by flashing that KDZ h930, some file or something that handles the hardware of the screen has broken.

Never used Dump file, so don't know. That's a function of LGUP where you can theoretically restore original partitions if you have a "dump" prior to making any changes. You've already made changes.
