hey folks, yesterday I was trying to root my phone and something went wrong and now it is bootlooping. I spent the last hour researching and couldn't find a solution, and I really can't invest more time into it right now. I can give a few bucks worth of bitcoin to any good soul that helps me save my phone.
So, I have a S9+ (was) running pie, japanese version, SCV39 (snapdragon) which I think that is the same version as G9650, this may be the source of the problem.
I've flashed twrp star2qltechn on it. After it, I flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt-samsung and magisk. And the phone was stuck bootlooping.
Without knowing what to do I wiped all data and flashed a new stock ROM on it but it keept bootlooping.
Details: I may have flashed and old version magisk but and after I've flashed magisk 18.
I was in kind of a hurry because I use Mac and had to ask my sister for her PC, and she got to get back to her home. I got an old windows laptop to try to fix this problem.
Thanks in advance.
For reference: I was able to recover my phone by wiping all data on the phone thru twrp and installing this ROM: https://firmwarex.net/samsung-s9-scv39-9-0-official-firmware-rom/

So ,im sorry but its a long story. Hopefully someone can help. My note is Rooted Ive been using TWRP. Everything had been fine until 2 days ago. I tried flashing a ROM i found on Goomanger.( I had been running liquid smooth) just wanted to try something different. Anyways it got stuck on a boot loop. Cant remember the name of the Rom. Anyways i was able to get back to recovery, thankfully. But when i wiped and flashed back to liquid smooth it would say optimizing apps, then it would reach a certain number then reboot and star all over again. So then i tried another Rom and the same thing happened. tried flashing back to stock rooted but it would turn on then completely crash and star booting up again. So finally i was able to flash paraandroid 4.1.2 and Gapps, but here is the kicker i have no service (AT&T) says cannot locate network, my IMEI is gone basically the cellular isn't working. Everything else works fine WiFi,apps, camera. Just cant make calls. I really need your guys help please.:crying:
If you have a suggestion please let me know, i hate using an old Iphone

Just odin back to stock. Get a complete factory stock image from the main sticky thread and flash it with Odin and Download Mode. There's a bug on one of the TWRP versions with 4.3-based ROMs that will put it into a bootloop by breaking device reboots. I was unable to flash my way out of the problem and was forced to do a complete reimage which solved all the problems and put me right back to clean-out-of-the-box state, then I reinstalled TWRP (though an older version before the boot loop bug) and re-flashed my custom ROM. The package I used was the stock image and Odin tool all in one .exe, just plug in to download mode and run it and it flashed bootloader, recovery, system, kernel, etc. all back to stock.

Thanks thats what i did, I just basically had to use KIES to use the emergency recovery, then root my phone again. My question is what version of TWRP causes this? cause i used the newest version i could find off GOO. My other concerne is, will it accept or be safe to use a custom ROM? Well i gues ill find out  THANKS AGAIN!
Everyone with the sgh-i717 is having problems with the latest TWRP and the most stable version is 2.5.0.0. Go with that one or you'll be starting all over again I imagine. And don't just stop at the download link in the OP's, read the thread and find out what's going on. The problems with TWRP have been going on for a while and the development threads have a lot of comments about the latest build causing problems. Good luck! :good:
A couple of weeks ago I bought a Galaxy Note 2 from Simple Mobile began to experiment with it. Later on I managed to root it, but I accidentally flashed a recovery via Rom Manager which after a restart broke my phone.
After that I flashed a OTA through Odin of Verizon 4.1.2. The system booted and everything but the radio was missing meaning that I could not text or use 3G. I looked for many ways to restore it but none worked.
I later on flashed a T-Mobile ROM thinking it will help restore the radio and it did successfully flash the ROM through the recovery. But the ROM turned out to be 4.3 and the radio still didn't work. Later on in the same day I flashed an OTA of T-Mobile through Odin and that's when this happened. My phone bootloops really fast when I turn it on. The recovery doesn't show up at all. And every time I flash anything through Odin it fails. I've felt ashamed all this time and it took me a while to reflect and face what I've done and decided to post on here to get help.
Thanks for reading! Any help is appreciated. I will try every method that gets posted and will post back results.

I have a very similar problem. hope you get help on this, I have been trying to fix this problem for a month.
The 4.3 update is where the issue came from if it will allow you to flash try using a custom rom to get you out the boot loop but because the 4.3 bootloader is locked you now have another issue you will now have to run a virtual rom and there is a certain way you have to do it or you will completely brick your phone try researching first Google your phone model with the rom build 4.3 root you have to root it now before you can do any modifications at this point

Hi,
i have a problem. i used a guide on highonandroid how to root the galaxy s6 on 6.0.1.
after rooting using twrp 3.0.0 and installing supersu 2.52 the phone was rooted and i experienced no problems at all.
2 days later i get a notification from supersu that the binary needs to be updated, so when i clicked it, it restarted my phone. since then my phone wont come out of twrp boot. every time i restart my phone it ends up in twrp.
i really have no idea what to do and how to fix my problem. i have been looking online for the past three hours, but i dont know what to do. i am currently downloading a stock rom for the galaxy S6, but its downloading very slowly and its gonna take at least another 4/5 hours.
Does somebody have any ideas what i can do? I have no idea what kernel i am using and i did not make a back up (stupid i know)
sorry for the bad english, hope somebody can help

It may help if you post this in the Galaxy S6 forums. If there are others having this issue then you will most likely find it there. As for a quick fix, if you are in a bootloop then your device still has life. Just get into download mode and flash that stock image. Usually starting back over and doing a clean install is the best approach.
hey everyone so I installed oreo on my note4 Tmobile phone and I didn't do a backup. eventually I wanted to try dr.ketans rom, downloaded what I needed and phone just kept restarting, frustrated I wiped the entire phone and now I only have twrp, and no backups,no OS!! what do I do? ive searched and looked for answers but this is all new to me. I just want to go back to my stock firmware. eventually convert to s7 edge...I need help!
I'm sure the fault is mine, but I'm not sure where the issue is. Google and XDA forums searches aren't helping me much either. I really appreciate all the help so far, but I'm going in circles so could use some further direction.
First a short version of where this V30 started and where it is now. Bought a stock Verizon V30 shortly after launch. It's been running fine since then. I recently discovered that the V30 was finally unlockable and rootable. So read the guide, downloaded all the needed files and of course had success. This also put me on the Oreo OS which I thought would be fine. Once that was done I then started digging into trying to get this V30 to spoof it's GPS location for PokemonGo. I've been running into wall after wall with that. I've previously wiped the whole phone without realizing I lost my backup and with some help here I got back up and running.... on Oreo. I've tried different options a few times and still can't get it working as others seemingly have. So... I decided to give up on Oreo and go back to Nougat.
I have tried over and over and keep running into a new walls and can't seem to get Nougat back onto my V30. I did succeed once though... Used LGUP and got Nougat back on. Then I tried to get TWRP back on and during that I lost my Nougat install. No worries, I thought. I'll go back to Oreo and try again... but since then I can't get anything to work as before.
LGUP either says I have the wrong DLL or that the phone isn't connected. I've tried going into download mode, but LGUP can't see the phone at all and after a short time the phone simply restarts. When I am able to get LGUP to see the phone it begins by restarting the phone... but then the phone restarts a couple times then finally goes into Android, but then LGUP gives errors about com ports or no phone. I'm at a loss as to what the issue is.
At this point I reflashed US99820H with TWRP and Magisk and the phone works... but HOW can I get back to Nougat???? What am I doing wrong or missing because I previously didn't have all these issues with LGUP.
I even made (I think) my own TWRP zip for US99810c Nougat using KDZZ.... I even installed that, but after the flash TWRP warned me I had no OS installed so I got cold feet about restarting it so put Oero back on instead and then decided to post here.
I know it's a lot of random info, but I could really use some more insight into what the "F" is causing all my errors or at least get Nougat up and running again. Really tired of banging my head against the wall.
Thank you as always.
Well, it seemed a bit dirty as I could never get LGUP and the V30 to work, but I think I got Nougat re-installed using TWRP. It seems my personal made US99810c TWRP Zip works. Unsure why TWRP was reporting I had no OS on the first try, but after double checking everything and trying again I didn't run into the same "error" with TWRP this round.
So... I have a US99810c TWRP installable zip... is anyone interested in having that uploaded on XDA?
