S6 Edge stuck in boot loop /&%¤% - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got an S6 Edge with Stock ROM, which is stuck in boot loop. It reboots every 4 seconds with startup screen.
I have tried a lot, but cannot interrupt. Battery off, trying to boot into recovery etc. Any advice?

Thanks for feedback.
How can I do that, when I cannot get into anything on it? It turns off after two seconds? Also when I do volumen-down, home, power combinations

I'm not sure but if you post for help in the S6 section. There is plenty of people who probably experienced what you are experiencing and can give you more information. There might possibly already be a guide. There's a good chance you can get your phone back up and running.

Most likely you need to hold volume up or down when it powers up and get to download mode. Once in download mode you can use Odin to flash a stock rom. Post in your phone carrier section. For example T Mobile s6 edge questions and help

Hello world! New Ultra Z owner (coming from Note 2)

Hi all!
Tomorrow I will receive my new phone and send away my beloved Note 2.
I have loved the note series but I was too pissed off with Samsung shying away from 6" and giving us a measly .18" display increase on the Note 3 so I decided to try something else.
I have been reading a lot and learning about accessories for the phone etc. And of course ready to root and try a ROM and OCing righaway.
So just wanted to say hi to my new community!

Nope he didn't. Come to think of it. Can you flash a rom without root? Only install recovery?

Nay, you need root to install recovery, but you can use recovery without unlocking your bootloader. You can't flash custom ROMs (CM/Omni/PA/modified stock) without unlocking it though.

I saw in development a rom for locked and unlocked boot loader. Are you sure?
Funny cause I read something like that too and is very confusing coming from the Samsung world so I guess I need to relearn things again

Well, since you mentioned it, i'm not that sure anymore. If it's possible to flash a modified stock ROM with a locked bootloader, it doesn't include AOSP ROMs, since i know that you must have an unlocked bootloader to flash those because of signatures etc.
(Feel free to correct me, people!)

To elaborate, you can't use custom kernels with locked bootloaders. The signatures mismatch and thus, the ROM doesn't work. That includes AOSP kernels obviously.
Unlocked bootloaders don't check the kernel signature and thus, you can use custom kernels. ROMs have nothing to do with it. The 'custom' ROM being mentioned uses a stock kernel, so it can run on both LB and UB.
Basically,
Locked ---> Stock kernel from Sony only.
Unlocked ---> All kernels.

Yeah, iFont should work. I haven't tried it on the ZU though, so do a full NAND backup before trying.

I too have come to the X Z U from a SG Note2. I had been contemplating the note3 but the region locking killed that idea.
Now the Note 2 seems ordinary size, and smaller phones like toys! And the XZU is definitely faster than the Note 2, even though the latter never felt slow.
Just got my Xperia ZU last night. Totally, new to Android coming from IOS. Glad to be off that POS.

Wifi Issue

Hello all,
I apologize in advanced if this is listed somewhere. My wife's VZW S4 is having issues staying connected to our home wifi. All other devices have no issues but this one.
Have you seen this and have any helpful tips for me?

Go to settings, WiFi, then hold in home button, you should see WiFi in recents, long press on it, select app info, then clear data.
Edit: Alright sorry I'm on CM right now. Looks like it on only shows settings under apps . I thought you could clear data but I must have mistaken.

New Update this morning. Anyone Else?

So I noticed this morning, my Sprint Galaxy S8+ had a software update. 388mb in size. Just trying to decide if I should go ahead and update or wait because our badass devs are close to releasing root on these phones and don't want to prevent my phone from being able to be rooted. Anyone else get the update notification?

I posted a thread the the s8+ general forum
With the addition of calling plus it also gave me a message about rich communication when I went into messages.
I have removed battery icon, alarm and Bluetooth icons. Do you think it'd be ok to update without adding those icons back? I have uninstalled all overlays already and gonna enable all disabled apps. Just wanna know if it'd be safe to take update.

Not sure but I read it somewhere, you can test it out though ?
So I updated my s8 plus just fine and I just did my wife's and after the update installed, the phone rebooted and now this keeps popping up. It won't let me out of it. Is there a way to boot into a safe mode or something to get pass this? What options do I have here? I can't lose the pics she has on this phone.
Never mind, got it fixed.
Anyone else that's updated to this update, have u tried overlays or substratum themes? I think that was the problem with updating my wife's s8 plus because I had the center clock mod installed on her phone when I did the update and I think that's what caused the system ui crash message. Now that we're updated, I would like to install overlays or use substratum again but don't want to crash my phone lol
Enhanced Messaging???
Anyone having issues with Enhanced messaging?
Mine is asking for a Verification Code and Sprint and Samsung have no idea what code it wants.
Does yours work? I have two S8+ but cannot test because my phone wants a code.

Will I be able to unlock the bootloader after 360hrs?

Hello everyone,
I've been reading different guides the community has posted but they seem a little outdated or maybe I'm ignoring something.
For example, will I be able to unlock the bootloader after 360hr? How can I know I've reached that time? I tried today, so I will kind of know when that happens, but not exactly when.
Another question would be, is there any new way to unlock the bootloader without having to wait for 360hrs? For example, like flashing the Dev ROM and then trying the unlocking process without binding the account to the device.
I'll appreciate any kind of help.
Thanks in advance.

I got the wait too, but just rebooted the phone, logged out of the miui account, logged back in with another miui account I have, did not bind the account, rebooted back to bootloader and it unlocked with the new account. You may have to try a couple different accounts, but eventually, it works and you don't have to wait. Once it's unlocked, just log out and log back into the correct miui account. There's a thread about how to do this already. Not sure if it works for all builds, but worth a shot.

OnePlus 7t pro McLaren 5g TMobile update 10.0.27!!

There is an update for 10.0.27 just saw and installed this morning! Go to system updates and check yours.

slightly puzzled, update downloaded/installed by itself overnight. good to know being unlocked doesn't affect updates.
Have you modded at all?
no
Unless you unlock the bootloader there won't be issues. I've unlocked Sim but not rooted so I get updates too. I don't see a need currently since there's no alternative ROM

Does not really matter to me to have Titanium any longer because the likelihood of phone complete malfunction is very low. And I use duckduckgo browser to block most ads. Most apps now are smart enough to fail if they detect adaway modified host file so on. I actually am glad I do not have to try and trick my phone so that Google Pay and other things work when they fail if rooted. I also am worried if I touch anything, the 5G will stop working. I really want to be able to get that signal.
