Hi dudes and folks ?
There was late a night and I found out that there had Come out a new Firmware to XZ1, VIA. XDA Labs APP of course. ? ?
My stumac got chills. ? What bugs are Fixed and What is new and are there made a twrp for this build yet. I had also missed one update... ? SO I rolle up a fattie and sniffed a looong ang fat stripe (Speed). GAME ON! ? ? ?
Downloaded 10.45 via Xperifirm, found TWRP on "Android F Host". ? ?
Exited, copyed Newsflasher to folder, copyed boot-folder to partotion-folder, moved user data-file Cause my Phone Were ? PERFECT put the device "XZ1" in flashmode... Found NEWSFLASHER-FILE, PUSHED-ENTER, PUSHED N, PUSHED-ENTER, PUSHED-N. ? ?
Flashing flashed wild on the screen, SUDDENLY I remembered I forgot to delete SIMLOCK.TA - File. ??
Last pictures to the right doen should'nt be there, it is a fail. :cyclops:
You are not simlocked. All the brackets are empty. It's how it should be.

Nothing is wrong. Also newflasher won't flash simlock.ta. You don't even have to delete it.
Edit. Download the firmware again with xperifirm.
This time dont move folders around or delete files except for userdata.sin
Put newflasher.exe in the downloaded firmware folder and run it.

Try repairing with Sony flash tool
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/flash-tool/download-flash-tool/
Other than that, I'm out of ideas unless you have a TA backup you can restore.
My question is why did you do this "
copyed boot-folder to partotion-folder"? Makes me wonder if you have new firmware on an old kernel..

Ok.. I don't agree with it.. So here come a few questions, do you have the correct firmware? Have you tried just extracting the partition and bootloader file don't move them, delete all the ta files but don't touch any in the folders... Are your drivers properly installed? Have you tried relocking your bootloader and hooking your phone up to Sony companion and repair it?

Tryed some of it But not all.
Have driver-problems, Windows won't detect Xz3 fastboot or adb. Really weird. Have Followed driver-install guides "hard".
Deactivated driver signatur when installing them...
Maybe try again... ?
Xperia companion won't touch unlocked Devices.... Have tryed. ?
Damn I am wriiting about the wrong phone. ? But have never had driver issues with XZ1 before this week. With 47.2.A.10.28 firmware. I think. After I flashed å build with Flashtool and not Newsflasher13.... ?
Maybe something went wrong. Got time to think while wriiting and not flashing. ??

No mate. Will erase all your data (except files on internal storage).
My advice is to save photos etc on pc and do a factory reset. After that you will have your phone exactly as mom sony produced it ( except unlocked bootloader).

Flashing firmware don't change "internal storage" just "device memory", but you'd lose apps and settings.
Titanium back can restore apps and settings but you have to approve installation of each app again and it takes a lot of time. The phone must also be rooted. For apps settings it should be ok.
Usually PlayStore install all my apps after flashing firmware. I think you need the acount backed up on google servers.
Hey,
All I want to do is root this phone, Im trying to downgrade it too android 4.2.2 so I can flash a custom recovery and then Flash a FTF right? So ill be on 4.4.2 with a custom recovery and then flash superuser.apk in recovery
That seems right, right?
well, im getting a stupid error or it hangs and then my phone comes out of flash tool on its own, anyone help. please, literally going insane.
Ive actually started using my GS3 again because of how much of a pain this phone is

Make sure you're on the latest version of flashtool also.
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
1. Have the latest version of Flashtool
2. You don't need to have CWR to flash FTFs. FTFs are usually stock Sony ROMs which are flashable without root. What you're about to do is installing CWR so you can flash a pre-rooted KitKat build (ZIP).
- Downgrade, root, backup TA if you haven't already, install CWR, flash ROM.

Got it all sorted, I now have an unlocked bootloader.
One thing, It seems I cant update OTA or through PC companion, is that sound right? I havent seen anywhere where it says you cant do that.
It pops up saying " The system has been modified, you may not update " Or something along those lines
Do I have to update through a FTF? And for future updates will I not be able to get them? :'(
OTAs normally will fail. So you will have to use FTFs

Yeah, I got the same error. You HAVE to update to the latest Flashtool. It won't work unless you do that.
- Uninstall Flashtool
- Go to C:/Flashtool and move your 681 FTF from the firmware folder to your desktop
- Delete the whole Flashtool folder, or else you'll get the install error when you update
- Install the latest Flashtool version. It's the only one that supports KitKat FTFs.

Yup, that's what it should do in theory, but that isn't the case around here (Win7). It starts removing the old files and it does it just fine, but then when it's extracting the new files into their respective directories, I (and many others) get an error that a file (always the same file) can't be replaced, so the only way of doing (that i've done at least) is to just manually delete the whole folder. It's very strange.
(No, running the install file as admin doesn't change anything)

Since you seem to have some knowlage this should be quite self explanitory
Aside a few things which arent mentioned
Flashmode/fastboot does not mean holding a button like flashtool asks
For Xperia Z2
fastboot = Volume Up
Flashmode=volume down
You do need drivers to be installed of which an installer of sorts can be found in the drivers folder if your on windows (fastboot, flashmode, any Z2 drivers)
Fastboot can be used to flash kernels, flashmode is used usualy to flash firmwares (commonly FTF files)
Literly any questions just ask

Once you've downloaded the FTF file (if its in a zip extract it to get your FTF) you need to put it in your firmware folder found within your flashtool folder (once you've installed flashtool)

so i dont check any of the things like kernel or baseband or bootbundel .. i just leave them alone ?
That's right
I unchecked all the data wipe at the top and didn't lose anything but still back up just in case
So, here is the .84 firmware with -86 baseband for the GSM Xperia Play.
From what I see, there are a few firmware changes since .79 firmware and a baseband update. Also, some applications like the Browser and the Phonebook seem to have some changes.
Download: R800i_4.0.2.A.0.84_Vodafone_DE_(1247-8566).ftf
How to Root:
1 - Download All 3 files from this Repository: .84 Firmware Rook Kit
2 - Flash R800i_.79_Kernel.ftf using Flashtools
3 - Root Phone using Eroot1.3.5.exe Tool
4 - Flash R800i_.84_Kernel.ftf using Flashtools

I could not root my 800at phone with this firmware. I am on a locked bootloader/stock kernel. ive used 2 programs to root.
try to flash .79 kernel, then root, then flash .84 kernel again, it might work.

With the earlier Xperia phones you needed to unlock the bootloader before flashing (that you are allowed to unlock doesn't mean that your bootloader is unlocked). To unlock you need the script and the code from Sony. At the moment I don't remember where to get both (script and code). And what about DRM-keys?, is it there a TA-partition to backup before unlocking? And so on...
I uploaded an update for newflasher here: github.com/munjeni/newflasher/issues/6. Tested with J9110.

Noelex confirm that newflasher working. I have included all patches including on from noelex. Only which might not work (I'm believing it will work) is partition folder flashing, if you flash it please post newlfasher log (post it in neflasher thread), I need to be sure everything is right!

Best you ask in that respective thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Hello guys,
I managed to flash my new Xperia 1 to Customized UK and EE UK firmware without problems. I didnt delete anything like .ta files etc. I just copied newflasher files to Firmware Folder, downloaded from XperiFirm and run Newflasher.exe in flash mode.
Vodafone UK carrier lock still exists after flashing though!
I am trying to get an unlock code for this from a seemingly legit site. (fingers crossed)

Can you point me to which USB drivers you used? I can't for the life of me get my PC, to recognize the phone in flash mode.

Download Flashtool, install it, then go to folder c:\\flashtool\drivers and install driver package, checking the first two options, flashtool and fastboot drivers. Then your mobile will be discoverable in flash mode. Shut down your phone and while turned off, keep volume down button pressed while connecting usb cable, till green light shows up
