Mobile as physical keyboard for PC - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey! I am currently using the wireless keyboard in PC. But there is no way to open BIOS with wireless keyboards.
I am having rooted android device where I successfully tried to install windows 10 in past by mounting iso file as Live CD drive using DriveDroid. I want to use it as a physical keyboard in a similar way.
Is there any app for that? Is there any way to give keyboard commands from android as a physical wired keyboard instead of using apps like "Remote Mouse" but similar apps like "DriveDroid"?
Quick response, most appreciated.

[Q] The tablet as a PC pen Tablet?

Hey I was wondering if their is any app out their or any way to make a tablet into a pen tablet for pc drawing but through, maybe, usb a display as i draw?
I mean the pen rec. is already built in and its more complex then the regular drawing tablets... It has a display... now just need something that will allow it to maybe remote desktop maybe?
So any ideas? just dont want to buy another thing when i can have two in one. Thank in advance.
anyone, know of anything? or if its possible.
Hmm? I don't understand much what you meant by...
But different screen has different property. Eg, the screen that HTC using can recognize pen, but if you use the pen in galaxy tab, it won't work. It is all about the screen.

any tablet. im waiting for the tegra3 and then going to bu one. let says i get one which i can use a pen with. Now can i use the tablet as a pencil/drawing tablet for my PC.
i mean if it can use a pen already can i somehow connect it via usb and have it display my photoshop screen and input as a pencil?
You could give iDisplay a go
http://www.shapeservices.com/en/products/details.php?product=idisplay&platform=android
That lets you use your android device as a second touchscreen monitor - you can drag windows to it and manipulate them on your android screen, so photoshop should work ok.
although that might be close it connects via proxy thing/wifi which may cause a delay on pen usage. Is their nayway to run the pen tablet software of the android tablet? or make the input of the tablet be read like the pen tablet thing if i connect it via usb?
so? any luck?

Use mouse of computer from Android

Hello,
I had previously a program for moving just the mouse on my pc, but i can't find such a program now. I have remote desktop program, but i dont want to take remotely control, i would want to be able to use the computer' s mouse from my Android.
Can someone please let me know a simple progran for this?

GMote lets you use the screen as a touchpad for your computer. It doesn't transfer the addendum image, so you have to be able to see your monitor/display when using it.
Not sure on if you can use a software keyboard, but if your device has a hardware keyboard you can use it to type as well.

RemoteDroid
RemoteDroid turns your phone into a wireless keyboard and mouse with touchpad, using your own wireless network. good luck..
try unified remote,nice..

Apple Keyboard

Hi everyone,
I've already read some stuff about this question in here, but I haven't found the answer yet.
I have the Apple Keyboard from my iMac and I would like to use it with my TF. It connects but after that nothing happens. Is there any way to make it work?
(One more thing: it has a Portuguese layout...)
To the ones saying I should buy the keyboard dock: I run the whole Lisbon (capital) and there isn't a single one for sale.
Thanks in advance.
Your post is too vague to really start troubleshooting. Is the keyboard USB or Bluetooth? I'm assuming Bluetooth because you stated you don't have the dock which has the USB port...
So assuming you are using bluetooth:
Once you pair/connect the keyboard up, you have to MANUALLY select it from your list of keyboards so the OS knows what to get input from.
Apple is also known for using proprietary protocols to make things work so they don't work on other equipment. A keyboard shouldn't be difficult to work with.
Sorry for the lack of information.
Yes, it is a Bluetooth keyboard. It connects, but after that nothing happens. And the keyboard isn't listed in the "Input Methods". (I think it is like this, I use Android in Portugues)

Then it didn't sync properly. You may have to go into Bluetooth settings and select additional profiles. It should list a HID device or something... and be listed in your keyboard list..
Another thing, sometimes when new keyboards are installed, you have to go to language and input and enable it before it'll appear in the list.
EXT LTE Galaxy Nexus - 4.0.4
Asus Transformer - ICS

I've checked Language and Input, it isn't there. It recognizes it as a keyboard and has the Input Method profile activated.
(And thanks for your help )
I have seen previous posts on this and the Apple keyboard and mouse will probably not work. Apple has changed something in the Bluetooth protocol so it wont be recognized as a 100% compatible Bluetooth device. That is why it will only work on a Mac or a in Windows with the Apple boot camp drivers.
is it possible that the keyboard still thinks it is paired to the Computer and therefore may not pair with another machine. This is just from research I did when trying to make the keyboard work with my Windows 7 PC. I tested it on work windows PC, then it wouldn't pair with Home windows PC. I took out batteries for a few mins then it worked with correct drivers.
try unpair the keyboard from Computer just to see if it will pair to the Transformer. in the long term this may not be suitable for you if you want to use with your PC and Tablet....
Ultimately, as mentioned above, it may need further driver support that is not available for the Transformer,
good luk
I tried using the Apple Keyboard myself via Bluetooth on both the Motorola Xoom and the Asus TF.....both gave exactly the same symptoms as the OP described.
You can get as far as selecting the passphrase/keycode in order to pair it and it's all looking rosy at that point but then......nothing.
I'm sure Apple has gimped it so you can only use it with their own hardware. Yet another reason why I won't use their kit. I want to choose what I do with the kit I own, not what Apple want to do with the kit I own. Frustrating at times.

Tutorial on how to use WiFiKeyboard on Mini Pro?

Hi, I'm really interested on using my laptop keyboard to type things on my android phone. And so does playing emulators with it.
But how to connect wirelessly from laptop to phone (vice versa)?
I mean where to go to input settings on the se keyboard to change from the stock se keyboard to WiFiKeyboard?
Or maybe a tutorial on how to connect it via adb command?

Hi,
i am using free "WiFi Keyboard" by Ivan Volosyuk from marker.
only i use it mostly via USB cable, and have written bat file:
chdir C:\Program Files (x86)\Android Commander\bin
adb forward tcp:7777 tcp:7777
Start "" "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" "127.0.0.1:7777"
First line to your adb.exe
Third line launches your browser.
First when you type you have long click text-box and select input method WIFI keyboard, only then above will work.
Depending on what you are planning to do, you could use sms control center via wifi. I use this daily via usb and have just now been using it with wifi and it works very well. It's only to send/receive sms through your PC and it's free. Step by step is in the program itself if I' not mistaking, otherwise just ask.
I've also used "android screencast" to control my phone, but this time connected via USB only. Keyboard and mouse also only work when the phone is rooted. Android screencast

Hi, you can get it from many places, Google SDK and so on.
I use one from SuperOneClick from the times i rooted older phone, but you can find it in many places there, look for the pack where it had fastboot, adb and drivers.
That is just .exe file which makes your computer communicate to your phone.
Be sure to check keyboard options in settings to enable wifi keyboard first.
