xiaomi redmi 6a kills background apps? - Xiaomi Redmi 6A Questions & Answers

Hello, i'm a possessor of a huawei p9 lite, but i'm changing it because it has problems with background apps. I need to use apps like appblockers that works in background and are very important to me. I'm willing to buy the redmi 6a but i need to know if it has problems with killing the app in background. thanks>!

Have you cheched in the phone manager's battery settings to set your apps as they don't have to close?
You have to open Phone Manager, go to Battery section and select protected apps or something similar and then set the switch as you wish on the app you want to keep running.
Also, if you need it, there's the AppLock feature always in the phone manager.
Btw I've just bought online the Redmi 6A so on Tuesday I'll be able to tell u if it keep apps but I think it will be the same as huawei devices: you first need to set the app as permitted to run in background

Yeah i set every setting possible to inhibit the close of the application, in battery managment, app managment, set the app as home app, etc. I tried everything and still the app does not work properly. Yeah please let me know if your redmi 6a work then

I have an honor 7a and it happens that if I use more apps at once (keeping them in background) after some time, other apps gets closed.
It should happen because of the ram that can't keep many processes and so it closes it or something like this.
Very annoiyng of course.
If it isn't because of the phone manager, than it's related to hardware limitations

I received my new phone some weeks ago and actually is a Redmi 6 and not a 6A
BTW the apps are not getting closed and even if they do, you just need to change the settings in battery manager.
MIUI have a way better power management.
Love it

Redmi MIUI killng apps

I find that apps like Spotify or other music apps get killed after a while even if they are the only open app. Many apps that create notification for persistence also get killed very quickly on MIUI. e.g. Wakey to keep screen on gets killed to.
Is there a way to fix this?
Give them a lock in recent apps or you go to security center look for Autostart and choose your application. This helped for me

Even if I have exactly done what you have suggested, some of my apps keep being shut down for no obvious reasons.
I am on the latest weekly developers rom by the way.
Go to Settings->Additional Settings->Battery & Performance->Manage app's and battery usage->Choose app's to restrict. Try it out maybe it works for you. If not I got no solution anymore if you find out an other method pls say it to me!

Tried that for the constantly closing 2 apps but still getting shut downs.
I froze as many system apps as I could to free some ram and also disabled ram management from developer's options.

I always us that on my lg phones to stop playstore and service to wake up my phone...
But since miui doesn't have that in there security app. Can i install a apps ops (app or xposed) without any problems?
I didn't try it myself, but it should work. However as an alternative i rekomendacja "power nap" (be car would using it, but system apps on white list)

Unable to click on "Allow Permission" while chat heads are active

It's been annoying me so much. I just got the Redmi Note 4. I've been installing new apps. I'd installed Messenger first and I'd activated pop-up windows for messenger so that I could get chat heads.
Now every time I install a new app and it asks for permissions, I can't allow (but I can deny) the permissions until and unless I close the chat heads.
Anyone know a way around it? AND, yes, I do need the chat heads. I wanna be able to use chat heads and simultaneously allow permissions too.
Thank you.
Hi,
What ROM are you running, can you post an about phone screenshot here.
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
You cant. Its a measure by Google, to prevent malicious applications from drawing an overlay and enabling permissions by itself.

Yeah.
Sorry for the late reply. Here.
I have the same problem too. It's something to do with downloaded apps that have the screen overlay pop-up permission.
You have to check out which of your downloaded apps are giving you the problem.
Simply better and quick fix: Whenever you end up in the permission manager inside any app, just switch to settings, installed apps and go to the app that needs permission. On that app page, you have the APP PERMISSIONS option. Open that and enable or disable whatever permissions you want.
Hope that should be of help!

Greenify Auto Hibernation Not Working In Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Non Rooted With latest M

Greenify can't auto hibernate apps in Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 running the latest Miui version 9.2.1.0 (details attached in screenshot below).Even after granting all the permissions, Greenify fails to click the force stop button & no apps are hibernated.
This is a major bug and leaves Greenify completely non functional in non rooted phones.
This issue must be fixed ASAP!

Not sure of your expectations or what you are trying to show with the video. Greenify does not remove apps from storage nor immediately reduce their memory footprint (although they may happen over time due to normal LMK behavior). It's singular purpose is to block unwanted background behavior without crushing functionality.
While you may have indeed identified a new 'bug' a single data point (your device) does not necessarily extend to all devices and configs - rooted or otherwise.

Yes brother.I know that Greenify doesn't remove apps from storage but what I'm trying to show here is that when you click on Hibernate Now, Greenify force closes the apps but in this case it fails to do the same.I am not the sole user facing this issue.
This problem has popped up after the latest miui update.
Thanks again

Appreciate the clarification (might want to shorten and/or annotate the video). So you claim the "problem" is related to the latest miui update but then extend the claim to all unrooted phones and demand Greenify "revert" ... to what?
I do see others raising issues with accessibility based functionality and there may indeed be a link. So far none have stated Greenify flat out does not work, only that automatic hibernation doesn't take place the screen is turned off.
Let's see how this plays out as more reports filter in.

Yes!You are correct. In a nutshell with the latest Miui Update (9.2) , Greenify doesn't hibernate the apps after screen lock even after being granted all the required permissions.
This happens in non-rooted devices
Hope that we will find a fix soon
Thanks a lot!

Turn Off MIUI Optimisation
I had same problem on my Mi Max 2 after MIUI update. To solve it just disable MIUI optimization under developer settings and reboot, Greenify will work again as it used to work before MIUI update.

Check v3.9.5 on Play Store. It seems to have the solution for your issue.

Me and others in MIUI forums had the same problem with only USB debugging turned on, this is what solved it:
Turn on the following option:
USB debugging -Debug mode when USB is connected
Install via USB -Allow installing apps via USB
USB debugging (Security Settings)- Allow granting permissions and simulating input via USB debugging
It's very simple
1 . Turn off miui optimisation under developer settings
2 . Turn on " FORCE ALLOW apps on external "under
developer settings.

Watch this ,
I think this will surely fix your problem.
I'm on xiaomi redmi note 5 pro (india) with miui 10.0.1
0. I'm having the same issue that greenify is not at all able to click the force stop option in the app page in the settings. This renders greenify completely useless in my device, since hibernation isn't working at all. I've been using greenify from last 5 years, and never faced an issue until now.

I really don't understand why you are using Greenify to go to an app and click force stop ... Why not just go directly to the MIUI settings and force stop it there ?
Anyway, on all my 4 Xiaomis, with the latest and greatest MIUI 10 8.9.2 Developer ROM as at this date, Greenify works perfectly.
Apps under Hibernation are as expected when viewed from the MIUI Settings, they are already Force Closed (Force Close button greyed out), with the Uninstall button available (not greyed out).
Under MIUI Settings, apps under Shallow Hibernation are not Force Closed, and clicking on the button Force Close will force close it and the button becomes greyed out, and after that, the Uninstall button will be ungreyed and available. When you go back to Greenify, the previously shallow hibernated app that was force closed is now under the section of the normal hibernation, no longer under shallow hibernation.
All fine on my side, MM and Nougat Xiaomis, I don't know about Oreo. I think Greenify is still needed for Xiaomi with Oreo, since Xiaomi seems to walk a different path than the others.

I have over 200 apps in my phone. So there are a lot of apps that need to be 'greenified'. And I've noticed that if you go into developer settings and disable 'miui optimisations', then greenify works perfectly. But for the rest, even if the app is open in the background and you select the option to hibernate it, the force close button is greyed out and nothing happens

Oh, yes, I forgot, of course I have MIUI OPtimizations disabled, always, less problems for me. All rooted too, with Greenify4Magisk, and some module to allow Play Services to be dozed.
Well, if an app cannot be force closed in the MIUI settings, then it is something else preventing it from being closed, and Greenify cannot override it. Gboard (Google Keyboard if used) I think is an example, if I remember. Only a few, and system apps which I would not touch anyway. I don't greenify important user message apps like Messenger or Whatsapp, though, I also Whitelist them from deep doze, just playing safe.
Excluding system apps, I have only a few user apps, less than 40 for sure. All greenified except a few I don't want greenified. As for system apps,
I froze many of them that I will never use and safe to freeze of course, surely stronger than doze or hibernate.

Ridiculous and counterproductive greenifying a huge app suite. Focus on those that demonstrate bad behaviors; ignore the rest.

Question Nord 2 battery optimization issues

Hello everyone,
Anyone with problems with background activity not happening? I have have issues with several apps, but ill give whatsapp as an example. I have set to never optimize and keep to allow background activity. Still, OxygenOS shuts down whatsapp and it requires me to open the app, not just unlock the phone, to receive messages. This is so stupid.
Another example is Sleep for android. I start sleep tracking, and after about 1h it shutdowns.
I also tried to set the phone high performance mode, but its the same. Any tips?
This is really weird
Does it all come from the Playstore? I already had this kind of issue with another phone when the app came from another store.
I actually use the Nord 2 and I am a Whatsapp user and have no problems.
i used the clone app from oneplus to transfer data from my old oneplus 5. but meanwhile it updated from the play store and its linked to the play store so... i dunno.
But i dont think thats the case cause i installed and bought the app AccuBattery (via play store), only on this phone, and im facing the same issue.
Maybe Accubattery is closing whatsapp to save battery, try deleting that app and see
