Question Nord 2 battery optimization issues - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hello everyone,
Anyone with problems with background activity not happening? I have have issues with several apps, but ill give whatsapp as an example. I have set to never optimize and keep to allow background activity. Still, OxygenOS shuts down whatsapp and it requires me to open the app, not just unlock the phone, to receive messages. This is so stupid.
Another example is Sleep for android. I start sleep tracking, and after about 1h it shutdowns.
I also tried to set the phone high performance mode, but its the same. Any tips?

This is really weird

Does it all come from the Playstore? I already had this kind of issue with another phone when the app came from another store.
I actually use the Nord 2 and I am a Whatsapp user and have no problems.

i used the clone app from oneplus to transfer data from my old oneplus 5. but meanwhile it updated from the play store and its linked to the play store so... i dunno.
But i dont think thats the case cause i installed and bought the app AccuBattery (via play store), only on this phone, and im facing the same issue.

Maybe Accubattery is closing whatsapp to save battery, try deleting that app and see

[Q] google talk always on - battery drain?

Something that is catching my attention as i mess with roms, is whenever I first sign into google services the google talk app is immediatly alerting me i have invite requests etc. meaning that app seems to be sitting in the background running and probing for network access. Clearly a battery drain, but I cant find a way to disable this behaviour short of freezing the app in titanium backup.
Have google really been this silly and put an social chat app on the OS that is forcefully always running unless removed?
On GB roms there is an option to not auto sign in, on ICS/JB roms (and also on GB if you update it to hangout app) there is no way to avoid auto signing in.
So am I right the app cannot be turned off, and is there any known ill affects to freezing the app?
Freeze it. It's always the first thing I freeze when I do a clean install.

[Q] What is Google Play *net_scheduler* and why is it killing my battery?

With my phone largely idle, Google Play Services is consuming 40-50% of the power and seems to be stopping the phone sleeping. The net_scheduler wakelock is the biggest culprit causing up to around 800,000 wakelocks in a day. It got to the point where I couldn't get through a day of minimal usage without recharging during the afternoon. I don't use Google+, I have turned off location services and disabled Google books, movies, games, search and google+ apps. I still have sync enabled for Google apps data, calendar, chrome, contacts, gmail and internet but I have disabled sync for drive, Fit data, people and picasa which I don't use anyway.
The problem was worse when I was using Exchange Services to sync with my work email and calendar. Turning off email sync helped a bit but Google Play Services activity still seemed to ramp up and stay high when I had a calendar appointment in Outlook, even with the sync period set to manual. So I have now removed the Exchange account completely.
I am aware that Exchange Services seems to be a common problem, something to do with the version of the Exchange server? Anyway that is not within my control. The serious battery drain started maybe 4 weeks ago and Exchange Services was responsible for most of it. Having eliminated that, its now Google Play, which also seems to be a common problem but usually NlpWakeLock? My phone is currently showing it has been kept awake 1h51m by Google Play Services since this morning, and 1h39m of that is net_scheduler (435409 wakelocks). GSam battery monitor shows almost continuous background activity even when I am not using the phone. The highest battery usage per app is by Google Play Services at 27%, the next highest is Kernel at 9%.
The battery drain seems to be worse when I am at work, where the signal is poor and I am on wifi but that has always been the case. I also use wifi at home. I turn off mobile data while at work to try and reduce battery usage. Other than changes to reduce battery drain I haven't changed anything on my phone for ages and I haven't updated or installed anything new, although I think Google Play automatically updated itself a few weeks ago.
What is net_scheduler and how do I stop it or Google Play killing my battery?
stock Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, not rooted, on T-mobile
Android 4.3
New battery less than a year ago.
Someone please answer your... I am having the same issue and it is riculous. On one plus oxygen.
I am having the exact same problem. 28929 wakelocks for *net_scheduler*
Thank you in advance for anyone's help!
Custom Samsung Note 3 Rom 4.4.2
Me too, pls help us to solve this problem. Thanks.
its my problem too , fk my battery ! plz help ...
Same problem. Recently, battery has been draining crazy fast in standby. Wakelock detector shows this net scheduler causing 263,000 wakelocks over only 4 hours standby and lost about 25% battery doing nothing. Android 4.3 on sony xperia sp.
Using OS monitor app, Android system and google services framework are consuming 60% cpu power when phone is just idle.
Google are a bunch of idiots.

To fix, find Google Services Framework and clear data and cache. Instantly fixed the problem. CPU usage by Android system and Google framework dropped to 0 and wakelocks have stopped increasing.
I highly recommend the app OS monitor, let's you put a permanent notification which shows top 3 things consuming cpu power.
Before Clearing Framework (this was non-stop, even restarting didn't help)
After
problem has returned, google, you suck.
Hi, I have the same issue like you. I disabled some services of google play services and I was thinking that that was the reason of wakelock *net_scheduler*, but it isn't, because I flashed new ROM with all services enabled but *net_scheduler* is draining my battery again. Its strange that is showing it randomly, I mean some day I don't have that wakelock and the next day I have it. Really strange.
If anyone knows more about it please answer.
Hey,
I have the same issue. Since the last GPS update wont even last a day. I found also that the GPS are responsible and in my case its also the *net_scheduler* service. It is pretty active. I already tried a few things from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
But so far nothing helped. It drains the battery really fast, yesterday my battery went from 50% to 30% in 20 min. That sucks.
If someone found a fix please post it here
Tried uninstalling google play services update, everything fine. Then updated it via play store and within a few minutes of update noticed phone was getting hot and laggy again. Same issue, something is going on with google play services causing massive wakelocks and high cpu usage. Currently at 1.4 million net_scheduler wakelocks in past 18 hours. Had to recharge twice even though phone barely used.
For no obvious reason, since yesterday I don't appear to be having the problem with Google Play Services any more. I haven't done anything to the phone, I am in the same location, nothing has changed on my end as far as I know unless I have inadvertently done or not done something that I normally do or don't do. In any case the problem appears to have gone away, or maybe it is just dormant waiting to drain my battery when I least expect it...
Something broken on the Google servers that they have now fixed?
Yep its fixed itself, there was an update on 18th June. The version with problems was 7.5.71 now its 7.5.74
Used my phone without google play services for a day and it actually doesn't affect much. You can still use play store, chrome but most other google apps won't work. Snaptube can be used as youtube replacement. If you can live without hangouts, gmail etc I'd recommend just removing it completely, save any future headaches.
Hmmm... I still have Google Play Services 7.5.71. Strangely Google Play Store says it has no connection, even though I am on wifi and other apps can connect fine. Maybe that's why it hasn't been able to hammer my battery?
What is the relationship, if any, between GP Services and GP Store?

I got the no connection on play store after clearing google framework cache. Had to reboot phone to fix it. Could be why the issue has stopped for you as I noticed it did too after clearing framework at first.
Completely uninstall google play services, it will reset to factory default. Re-enable it and launch a google app such as youtube. It will prompt you to update and bring you to google play services page on play store where latest version will be downloaded.
Google Play Services updated itself over the weekend to 7.5.74, lets hope this one fixes the battery drain for me. I never get any option to update or not, the only reason I know it updated is because I have an app that automatically backup up any app that gets installed, so I can revert to the previous version if an update causes problems. I did try reverting GPS but installation of the previous version failed.
Anyway, is there any way to stop Google services updating automatically? I can't find anything in the settings. I have Play Store set not to update automatically but that doesn't seem to make any difference. When google play services updates I don't get redirected to the Play store, it just installs the update without asking me.
Follow these hints next time.
Anyone else still having this issue? It's issuing a lot of wakelocks for me (Marshmallow/TouchWiz Note 4)

Yep same for me (TW MM Note 4). Amplify shows *net_scheduler* to be by far biggest wakelock, which is what brought me to this thread. Google Play Services now at at v9.4.52. Hmmm.
wakelock
it is google play services which drains battery very drasticly

Limit app background data for Google Play Services - Push notifications does not work

Hi all,
I'm still investigating on my battery drain problem apparently related to Google Play services (here a dedicate thread on which I described it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/help/google-play-services-battery-drain-t3537545 ).
Summing, all things for now are pointing to one, and not so positive, thing: Mobile radio active bug (here more details: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=190396)
After the little introduction, here comes the more general part.. I've found that using the WiFi connection my drain problem is totally gone, more than this, I see that Google Play Services exchanged a lot of background data when I am using mobile data (2G/3G/4G) .
Due to this I tried, from the Google Play Services app settings, to active the "Limit app background data" option and with my pleasure I saw that this was fixing my drain problems also with mobile data!
"All fantastic!" I said.. not at all, doing this I saw that I lost push notifications while receiving messages on whatsapp, messenger, hangout and so on.. and unfortunately this is very inconvenient.
Do you know if there is a way to mantain the "Limit app background data" option on but assuring all the right push notifications functionalities?
Thanks in advance for your answers and for your help.
Have a nice day
If your phone is rooted and xposed ready , you may try greenify to hibernate.
First I thought is it a stupid app which just force closes applications.
But after using it , It just felt different.Phone was blazingly fast , Battery Drain issue was Gone completely.
And I still get push notifications from Whatsapp , Uber , Facebook etc.
It is worth trying greenify even without root.
Cheers

Terrible memory management, now what?

The (my) m10 pro has extreme memory management and several of my apps that need to stay in mem, running in the background are kicked out by either oreo or emui all the time.
This makes this phone much less fun to use than my mate 9 where all these apps just ran fine.
The following apps are stopped all the time:
Garmin Connect (communicates with my Fenix f5)
Cambridge connect that connects to my (music) amplifier
Adguard (adblocker)
The problem is that with the garmin and cambridge apps the Bluetooth and wifi connects are also gone and thus communication stops.
My colleague has the very same problem so there must be more people out there with this isse.
Anybody else have this problem cause I think Huawei has a serious issue here.
I have the same issues. Apps that I want to keep running are stopped regardless the different settings to keep them running.
What I do see is that only the Sonos app stays in the background. That app gets reported as still being active and stopping it requires a force stop action. So maybe Garmin Connect should investigate the Sonos solution.
Yes, saw the same. Antivirus apps also play nice and keep running. Nevertheless I think Huawei should be the one playing nice and stop the app killing madness to save 2 minutes battery life...
The Mate 9 had similar issues when it first launched but it was fixed quick. Any idea how to bring this message to their attention?
I'm gonna try it through HiCare anyway.
did you try to add it to "ignore batteryopti..." just do a search in settings
Hi, tried it and it seems to be better now. Lets see what happens over time. Thanks!
It's kinda solved now but after about 12 hours all the background apps I mentioned were killed somehow. So it improved but it's not yet perfect...

Apps' and Games' Crashes & Other Issues

*** I have no choice than to beg for help. So please please please help me. ***
So I'm going to tell you girls/guys the whole story. It's going to be a long one, so bear with me. I just didn't wanted to leave any info.
I've been using MIUI for a long while, in the beginning it was all great. But as I started installing more & more apps, I started having issues/lags while playing games. Then there is MIUI's ram management issue, i.e. If I had to run a heavy game/app, I had to clear out RAM(you know the special feature in MIUI). Other than I had network issues. For ex : Whenever I played PR Legacy Wars(internet intensive game), I suffered from a lot of LAG. And Tekken(officially by Bandai Namco on Play Store) also, Force closed once or twice.
So to fix all this, I decided to go with a Custom ROM, basically because of the RAM Management issue.
First I started using CM 14.1. In the beginning the results were good. Like the internet problem was fixed to 100%, PR ran nearly perfect. Other than that there was no RAM issues. But as I started installing more apps, I started having crashes. First it happened with HQ Trivia, then with C.A.T.S. & PR Legacy Wars.
What happened to each app individually :-
HQ Trivia - Every time I play a live game, the app would crash multiple times given that I tap on ''wait'' and phone keeps on processing the app, when I get the message "App stopped working".
C.A.T.S. - This is neither a graphic nor internet intensive game, but still when I was typing something in group chat, the whole system crashed, the phone rebooted from the Boot Animation not from MI logo.
PR Legacy Wars - This game is a bit graphic intensive & internet intensive for sure. Same like when I was typing something in group chat, the same thing happened as mentioned above. Keep in mind that crash should've happened when there was more load on phone like during a battle.
And some very heavy crashes. Like when I try to switch accounts between guest & usual, the system crashed so hard, that I couldn't use it, Not even the hard buttons, like power button won't even turn the screen on. The vibration motor started spinning and wouldn't stop. I literally have to open the phone and disconnect the battery cable.
So having no choice, I installed NOS N, but I haven't tried the account feature in it, in fear of what happened earlier to CM 14.1, As I was able to recover through that heavy crash 3-4 times, but I guess it was the 5th time, I wasn't able to get into the system and lost all data. Why I feared? Cause I'm having similar issues as in CM 14.1, not all of them but similar.
SO after installing NOS N, these are the issues I'm having :-
HQ Trivia - Same app crashing while playing live games.
Sonic Forces - Whenever I watch an AD, if it's longer than like 5 or 10 seconds, app would crash & restart. If it's small or interactive or even non-interactive, if I keep tapping on the screen, app doesn't crashes, otherwise it does.
Twitter - Kept crashing(first installed through TiBa). Issue fixed after I installed it through Play Store.
YouTube - Force closed once or twice. Sometimes when I'm watching a video, when I press back then tap on Home/Trending etc it shows white blank.
Games - If music is playing in background, whenever I exit the app, at the end, the sound kinda gets laggy/screechy.
It's not been that long since I've been using NOS N. And I didn't do any hard testing especially that account feature. So the whole OS hasn't crashed yet. But still these issues hurt in long term, especially the HQ problem. Also all these apps were first installed through TiBa backup, then I installed them through Play Store, so that there's no compatibility issue.
As this OS has a feature to kill apps by holding back button. If sometimes I have lag in PR Legacy Wars, it get fixed by killing & opening it again.
What do I need from you guys?
To tell me if this a hardware or software related problem. I can create some report or log, so you could help me better. Just tell me how to do it? Meanwhile I'll try installing other OSs.
PS: I may not reply immediately, but I will reply.
