I just got a G5 on Sprint, but theres only one problem. I run on Boost Mobile, does anyone know any ways to get it working on Boost Mobile if possible?

Hi all
I wanted to ask all of you a question and see if you can guide me to the right direction. I have a virgin mobile Optimus V running bumblebee rom with clockwork mod. I wanted to upgrade my phone on virgin mobile to something newer and wanted to convert my LG optimus V to the Sprint Network. Is there a safe way to do this, and if there is is there any instructions on how to get this done the right way.
Also i might be wrong but not sure if the LG optimus s uses a different screen, but just looking for tips and how to tut.
Plus has anyone tried adding this to the sprint network and will i be able to add it once i convert it. do i just provide the SN of the phone or do they need anything else that the V phone don't have.

I doubt sprint will activate a virgin mobile ESN.
Call them and see if they'd be willing to activate your ESN.
You can flash sprint firmware to an OV, but there's no way to go back to the VM firmware, unfortunately. LG only released broken optimus V firmware files that won't flash.
Yes newbies do use the search button. I am also interested in the possibility of adding my Optimus V to a family plan on sprints network. Anyone have any luck?
A friend of mine has tasked me to help him as I have some experience with rooting, unlocking etc from other Android phones. Someone sold him a Metro PCS version of the LG Optimus L9 and he has a family plan on T-Mobile. He wants to give this phone to his daughter. Anyways, Since the phone runs on the T-Mobile network, is it possible to flash the phone so that he can put it on his T-Mobile plan? I have looked through the forums and have not found anything of this nature but I do apologize if I have missed it. It is not necessary to go into great detail for this, I jsut want to know if it is possible and a good place to start if it is possible. Thanks for your time!

The only thing I can assume would work is tp buy an unlock code on ebay or amazon and unlock it. t-mobile blows where I am so I unlocked my phone and am now on att

im sure it would work. i have a rooted tmobile branded L9 using a slightly modified metro rom with a tmo sim. it actually shows metro under about phone/network. it is rooted. so if u havent already tried a puting a tmo sim in it and seeing if it worked then rooting might be your answer.

I'm sure I have to root, & unlock the bootloader, is there a custom rom that would solve this that I could use? Or is it more complicated.

Sounds like a carrier lock. You have two options... 1) Purchase unlock code online or 2) Call MetroPCS and ask them for carrier unlock code.
I'm sure there's a way around that..... I've successfully unlocked my Sprint version of the G2, without having to have Sprint give me an unlock code.
That phone was pretty complicated to unlock, but it was done. So I'm sure this phone should have a work around also.
From what I'm seeing so far, the P769 is basically just about the same as the Metro PCS version. I just want to make sure I can do it, without having to call Metro PCS. I don't even have an account with them anymore. It's been a couple years. So I doubt they would give me the code anyways.

You asked. I answered. Best of luck FYI, that P769 is nothing like LG G2. I'm assuming you're aware of that already as you mentioned the bootloader was already unlocked. P769 is one of the most problematic devices LG has put out to date. I gave up on mine L9 P769 and moved to the LG L90.

Yea, I'm definitely aware that the 2 phones differ. I love my G2! It's an awesome phone. Complicated as far as carrier unlock, because Sprint has a tight grip on their phones, but it definitely can be hacked whether they like it or not! Lol.
I'm just trying to find out the easiest way to get this phone working on a different carrier besides Metro PCS. I'm pretty sure someone out there has tried it. It would be nice if there was someone who successfully did it.

I am currently on freedom mobile and would like to know if the phone is compatible with there network can anyone input there IMEI number and tell me if there device can be used on the network? I bought the H830 thinking I could unlock it but no go, will return it tomorrow. If anyone can do this for me I'd greatly appreciate it I don't want to buy another G5 and have it not work. Is it possible to unlock the bootloader of att lg g5 ? If yes then why there is no root even after 1.5 year ? If there is anyone who can unlock this phone if yes then plzzz.... Do something plzz....., Im very annoyed from my g5 first problem no root second problem im facing camera autofocus issue third im using att g5 in india and the signal is a bit weak i cant use the internet (4g) which i dont mind because j use wifi most of the time. So im hoping that maybe after root these problems will be solved, so please do something developers for the faith of the lg g5
I don't think root is coming to the G5. It's a damn shame.
Everything is possible in this world if not now then someday, i know its hard to unlock but im still hoping att g5 will get root if someone try (developers).
