Hey fellow redmi note 3 users,
I'm stuck here with a problem. I'm trying to roll back to miui 7(version 7.5) from resurrection remix official but whenever I try to do it, my mobile is stuck at the mi logo. Can anyone guide me?
Any help would be appreciated.
PS: I don't have any miui back up [emoji14]

So I just need to unlock the bootloader again? And then can I flash it through recovery rom? Or fastboot is the only option?
Sorry for being a noob ?

Well i can call myself noob too.... Bht successfully flashed miui 8 again from slim rom....
I followed the thread here on xda..
Downloaded the miui 8 rom(global) recovery zip... Deleted the emmc_appsboot file from the zip....
Cooked cracked boot image..
And then did a clean install.... (wiped cache.. System.. Delvik cache.. Data.. Even internal) and glashed miui 8... Then flashed the cracked boot image.... AND ALL DONE
Just before starting.. Check if your phone is unlocked.... If not.. Go to fastboot mode and unlock it using miunlock....
Thats what i did... After failing many times.... So try it.

Step 1 :- If you have unlocked officially boot into recovery(TWRP) wipe dalvik, cache, data, system (not internal storage and SDcard).
Step 2 :- Then flash a miui recovery rom.
Step 3 :- After successful flash now press home button in TWRP and click Reboot option and then select Bootloader.
Step 4 :- While you boot into fastboot open mi unlock and unlock your bootloader and then reboot the phone.
That's it!!!

i had unlocked bootloader officially. Now using RR rom, radon 2.8, alka twrp.
Had created backup of miui before flashing RR.
So now, i just have to restore the backup from alka twrp and back on MIUI8?

No need to be sorry for. But keep the Recovery Rom and Fastboot Rom with you at all times. Just in case something goes wrong.

There is a easy way too u just have to flash lazyflasher after flashing official miui ROM lazyflasher will delete emmc file n will also delete "verify" from fstab.qcom file done!! It works great I have flashed miui roms several times lazy flasher also has a SuperSU zip if u want to root miui ROM n ur bootloader remains unlocked
Tips - after flashing both files lazy flasher n ROM then tap on reboot system it will ask to "disable replace stock recovery" that time u have to "swipe to allow modifications" if u select "do not disable" then ur TWRP recovery will be gone on next boot.
Just remember to flash lazyflasher zip every time ur reverting back from custom to stock rom

Hello guys, i have a problem, i tried to install RR 5.7.4 via TWRP ZCX, but the first boot asks me for a password
PS: I tried flashing RR while i was in MIUI 8 global stable
Factory reset in TWRP.
using TWRP filemanager go to /data/system
Delete all .key files and also delete locksettings.db file.
Reboot enjoy
Guys, my TWRP ZCX crashed, it is stuck on its logo

What he suggested will delete the lockscreen password/passcode etc so you can boot the phone without any prompts. You do this within TWRP.

oh in that case, should I have to factory reset everytime I flash a rom through my TWRP? I use ZCX TWRP, so Lazy flasher is not required after rom flashing right?
you just need it once . to decrypt your storage

In the information about the ZCX TWRP I found below:
ZCX TWRP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/redm...persu-t3462448
- Based on official TWRP 3.0.2-0
- Patches boot.img automatically (Removes dm-verity flag)
- Disables forced encryption
Should I have to tweak anything in TWRP settings to remove this dm-verify flag everytime?

I tried it. Earlier i did not have any issue even if i install custom rom on my Redmi note 3. But today i thought of trying Pure Nexus *Substratum* rom. And on the first boot it asked me to enter password. though i have never kept password for my mobile, i tried all the passwords that i remember, which didnt solve my issue. then saw ur reply and tried it, and still it didnt work for me. Any other way?:crying:

Are you coming from MIUI? If so then MIUI encrypts the data partition, hence the new ROM asking for a password.
Before you install the ROM, you must "format data" on wipe in TWRP, this is different from wipe data.
Note that this will delete all your data obviously.

Yes i am coming from MIUI. I had done that But no use. Tried what ever that has been discussed in the following thread as well, but that also did not work for me.

Posted a thread on MIUI forum as well. Waiting for some sort of help. Earlier i was able to install Custom Rom's without any issue, (though i am coming from MIUI), but now what ever may be the rom that i am trying to flash, the first boot is asking me for password. Unable to understand what is the issue.

Are you sure that you used "format data"?
Wipe data doesn't remove the encryption.

Perfect. Worked bro. Thanks a lot for the help. I was wiping cache, and internal storage. Now only came to know this. :highfive:
hi i tryed to convert my redmi note 4x to global when flashing with mi flash tool i did it without clean and after that firmware finish installing but got stuck in bootloop now i flashed twrp and tryed to flash custom rom but again bootloop when i check my storage it shows 9gb now when its actual is 32gb i think i disturbed partitions any solution available?
Are you able to boot into TWRP?? If not flash TWRP first using fastboot.
Once you have access to TWRP boot into it and perform a full wipe (System + Data + Cache + Dalvik + Internal Storage). Perform a format too after wipe to be on the safer side. Now copy a custom ROM or MIUI ROM to your Internal Storage or SD card through a computer. Once copied install your ROM.
If you flashed custom ROM flash Gapps after flashing ROM. Reboot.
If you flashed MIUI, flash lazyflasher after that(or phone will be stuck at MI logo). Reboot.
You can find download links for lazyflasher here on XDA or you can google it too.

@ArK96 is right but the only thing i suggest is to, flash miui and lazyflasher first so as to properly set up the initial firmware, and partitioning. After miui boots properly, you can do anything you want. :highfive:

Go here and download the Global Stable worldwide release version firmware.
Boot into twrp wipe and format everything. Also after that reflash TWRP again using fastboot.
Once reflashed boot into TWRP and again perform a full wipe and format, then install the downloaded firmware zip. After that reboot TWRP and try flashing MIUI.

Yes. Red wolf is more MIUI friendly, it is made with OTA survival in mind. But your issue is that the ROM is not getting flashed. You can try what I said above about TWRP reflash, if it doesn't work you can go ahead and try redwolf. REDWOLF is nothing but modded TWRP, base code is still TWRP.

Make sure u came from latest miui rom 9 or 10.
Reason why its not booting is coz ur data and internal sd is encrypted . coz u came from miui. Miui encrypts data and internal sd by default. So custom roms cant boot it.
U need to format data in twrp.
Go to twrp
press format data.
Type YES to format
Format command will decrypt and erase ur data and internal sd.
So before that take backup of internal sd.
So first format data( must do)
Then wipe data reset
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot

I did that. I also thought the same thing. Thats why i formatted data from twrp. And thats how i lost my backup. Bit it still isnt going past the boot logo for any roms.

Thanks very much mate.... But I didnt see ur reply and flashed global stable MIUI 10 rom on my device through mi flash. And guess what the device is working perfectly fine. So in that sense u were right. I think it would have been cause of outdated bootloader. But the sad thing is my bootloader got locked again.
Now have to wait 72 hours more for unlocking....

Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot
Click to collapse
or else just flash lazy flasher....and decrypt the device

I'm facing the same issue, where no custom ROM will boot, but I came form latest global stable miui 10.1 and also flashed the latest firmware you linked just in case and still I can't boot with any custom ROM installed. I have officially unlocked my bootloader and I'm using latest twrp. I followed your instructions but I still have this problem.

No, I
flash firmware
format data
advanced wipe --> wipe data, system, cust, dalvik / art cache, internal storage
flash rom
flash gapps
reboot
and get infinite boot logo animation.
If you use redwolf or orangefox recovery, no need lazy flasher. Orange fox contain magisk install menu.
Hello everyone,
Having a series of bug that I did not like, I tried to flash my mi9 with an older version of the EU rom.
Since, my phone reboots constantly on TWRP and if I go in the files of the SD card, it is big anything in it.
Basically my phone is bricked.
I need your help to get by because the only thing that starts is TWRP ..
Someone could he save me?
Based on ny previous experience with another Android devices, I think your Mi 9 is far from beying bricked. All you need is to flash a stock image through fastboot.

This steps can be applied for upgrading from P to Q too ?
You don't have to reboot after formatting data ?
But never reboot after wiping system, yeah

Uhh yeah! You need to reboot to recovery to see if TWRP is still on there. Formatting means EVERYTHING gets yeeted out the back door. When you format data, always, and I mean ALWAYS reboot to recovery, and then you can flash your vendor image following your rom.
well, i flashed the android 10 version from "mi dot com/global/androidqbeta" , then i wanted to go back to the pixel experience rom and it didn't boot, it boot loped to twrp, so, I wiped all the partitions, and tried to flash the global version that came with the phone and it gives me the error "vendor error flashing" and then on another try after flashing the vender through twrp "system error flashing", then I formated all the partitions and then tried with the miflash tool version 2018-5-28, and it says device mismatch, but I am sure I have the mi 9 cepheus, 64gb 6gb ram, do i try flashing it with the European version ? i remember it came with the global version ...
[edit]
well, i solved it by making sure i had the same name on the folder that i had on the decompressed folder .. i've never encountered such an error
hope this helps someone ahah
