[HELP]Google Maps

Running on 7" Almost AOSP V. 2. Everything is excellent but I can't get Google Maps working. It's incredibly sluggish, on-map text is glitchy and it's essentially unusable.
Is there a known fix for this?

Google MAPS will not work on an Amazon operating system - I don't believe it will work on any of the thor-gapps roms. The API will not render properly, and is not licensed to work on Amazon o.s.'s. It will work on Capsjuste's AOSP 4.2.2-0 android ROM , which does not use Thor.
However, if you have access to the Amazon Appstore, you can try the 99-cent Tab for Google Maps app.

I don't have access to the amazon store. Any idea what the next best thing is on the Play Store?
I have Google maps working just fine in my 8.9" Fire running the stock OS with all the Google apps installed.
Obviously it doesn't work as well as the copy in my Note 3 without the onboard GPS, but it will find a location and map a route just fine.
To piggyback on this, does Zillow use the Google maps app? I downloaded Zillow from amazon before configuring gapps and it worked fine. I installed gapps then tried it and it was screwed up like Google maps.

Does maps.google.com work for you on the kindle? I don't have mine readily available to test, but since there's no GPS and you need a wireless connection to access maps anyway, wouldn't the website only be marginally less convenient than the app for this particular device?

HP Mini running from USB cant add account

I am running Remix Beta on an HP Mini from a USB stick. I have Ubuntu 15.04 installed on the Mini if that matters for troubleshooting. It seems most things run fine, I have wife and the built in cam works. My issue is I can't add an account. When I try I select "+add account", it flashes like it is going to the next step, but just reloads the same page where I can select "+Add Account". Is it because I have not installed GPS yet?
Probably. You can't add a Google Account without Google Play Services.

1. Yes, if you enable that feature in nanomod setup wizard.
2. Not sure, I use Lineage OS 14.1 (7.1)

Moto One Zoom / Amazon version

Hi There,
Amazon sells this phone with an Amazon rom (i think) , own update channel, et some own apps AKA Alexa but with a right price.
My question realy simple: how to disable all Amazon stuffs and change the update channel from Amazon to Motorola (or another clean way) to get generic update from Motorola?
I don't think it's an Amazon rom , only pre installed Amazon apps . You can easily disable this apps in settings - app and notification .
There is no problem in disabling these apps. What you need to do is disable these in settings AND disable automatic update (individually) in Google Play Store. If you don't then after any update the app is automatically enabled again. Apart from that, you are able to remove some of google apps as well (Music, Books etc.)

if you disabled so many google services why not just give protonAOSP, CalyxOS or GrapheneOS a try? all of these are free, open source and you can relock the bootloader after installing them.
I have a whole thread for that, the list is updated constantly
[DISCONTINUED] Google Pixel Experience - Optimization Guide
THIS IS A SUGGESTED CONFIGURATION FOR GOOGLE DEVICES OUT OF SUPPORT/CLOSED RECOMMENDED SETTINGS To Start With - Factory Reset (RECOMMENDED) - Remove SIM before first boot - Follow setup OFFLINE (DON'T restore anything during setup) - Reboot...

It would be nice to debloat this thread.
