So Reliance Jio recently announced their "Jio Note Series Offer" and I was wondering if it is possible to temporarily change my device model id to Redmi Note 7 and avail this offer. Can anyone guide me in this by directly explaining or sharing some relevant links? I am using Redmi Note 4x (3gb/32gb) and on Pixel Experience {Pie CAF} and rooted using Magisk.

Because you are on pie, Maybe you need to flash edXposed on your device! Just googling "edxposed on github", download it n flash! Its just like with xposed installer/framework! After installed it, search the " device changer" on edxposed manager, i dont know if its available on there, because i dont try edxposed yet. "Device changer is available on xposed installer so i can argue if it available on the edxposed repo too.
Okay I'll give that a try. Thanks

I have a rooted Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Snapdragon variant. I have installed custom ROM ( Cardinal AOSP) on my device and rooted it.
Recently, I have used Build-prop editor to fake my device to be PIXEL 2 XL, to get Google Lens feature working on my Google assistant. I now wanna install Xposed Framework. Can someone tell me how and for every such thing, should I use builds for Redmi note 4 or for Pixel 2 XL?
P.S.: please don't suggest me to rename using build prop editor back to redmi note 4.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Good Luck!

I've not found any kind of solution for my query.
Can you please be more specific?

Only flash things made for your device. Not what ever you put in the build prop. Had you done your research you would understand this.
obviously, Redmi Note 4. Your device doesn't change by faking its name in build.prop
Thanks ?!
Hello all,
I am searching now for a longer time to find out how to install the GCAM on my Redmi Note 4. But now I am thinking there is NO GCAM for Redmi Note 4 available.
Tried to search on en.miui.com / google.com for a proper installation guide. But nothing found.
To confirm there is really now GCAM updated available for the REDMI NOTE 4 GLOBAL? can somebody tell me why or if there is a GCAM where to look?
I am now on LineageOS14.2 with the latest update from a few days ago. And I already downloaded the following:
buildprop editor - persist.camera.HAL3=enabled-1 , and I have now full access. But now to find the GCAM for Note 4 is a more pain in duh asser.
Hey buddy join RN4 official group on telegram.....
There is variety of roms
And gcams there
+ Lot of development is going on there...must check out

Lineage has camera.api 2 already enabled, so there's no need to edit your buildprop.
There are lots of topics about GCam on our phone. Here's one for example:

Thank you I will try it.
One more question why all the GCAM version are tweaked by the phone model? Since this is a APK it should work on all devices after changing some things like the persist.camera.HAL3 module etcetc.
In the Oneplus topic I saw a topic with the complete details for specially Oneplus created.

Hallo,
most versions are not specifically made for our RN4, but work regardless. One exception is the version by UriKill, a russian developer from 4pda.ru, he posted it in a RN4 photography thread. It has a new slowshutter mode (for low light only) in the options that removes some noise in low light fairly well, but you gotta hold for phone still for a few seconds. In the Options put Model: 5x, Config 5x, HDR Setting: Low (the setting "Highest" doesnt make a difference in quality, just takes longer time).

To avoid any confusion go to Play Store and download an app called "Device info HW" or other similar of your preference, open it and go to section system, then search for Product.
Oficial twrp for vince is available in this forum as a lot of custom roms.
Hi all, just a clarification, i have Redmi Note 5, why this thread is unified? Does it means roms for "vince" and "whyred" are the same?
No, this forum is for Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5 Plus both with codename vince.
Redmi Note 5 Pro is known in China like Redmi Note 5 (whyred)
Redmi 5 Plus is known in India as Redmi Note 5 too (vince); This causes the confusion both receives same name depending from where they comes (or where they were released)
Whyred (snapdragon 636) has other specs than vince (625)

Thank you for the info on that. However, I am living in China and my Redmi Note 5 was bought here, so it is a lot of trouble to get the google play store and set up my VPN before flashing the phone with a new ROM. Is there another way to see what the phone name really is?
Also, any thoughts on my firmware question?
Thank you so much for the help!

Then most probably should be Redmi Note 5 pro, if you are rooted go with a root file explorer to system in root directory and find the build.prop file and open it in your device with any text viewer and find the line ro.build.product or something with word product, you will see vince or whyred

I was able to find another app in the Xiaomi app store that showed this info. My phone is whyred. The app name was Quick System info PRO, if others need to do the same. Thank you for the help!
Just wondering now about if I need to bother about including firmware when installing gapps and a custom ROM. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,!

I'm not sure if I understood correctly, some roms need to be installed also the firmware in some cases and for aosp based roms most of times you need to flash the gapps too but don't worry about. Here is the forum for you specific model https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro and when you find a rom that matches with your preferences in the thread these steps might to be explained
After restarting it again install all setup , when restore setup come , it's restart again and again,
This problem comes after restart REDMI NOTE3
AFTER FACING ALL PROBLEM I DONE RESTORE FACTORY RESET AND AGAIN REINSTALL THEN IT WORKS BUT AFTER RESTARTING I FACING ABOVE PROBLEM AGAIN
Please give me solution
1 st your posting in development thread which is not the right place for your query.
2nd Which device have you this is for Mediatek devices and there is not a Pie rom for them.
3rd Look at PE Thread and you would see it is a problem with the rom, flashing the VoLTE patch fixes it. Or wait for rom update.
Oh dear - you've done goofed up - Hennessey-based devices (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - MediaTek Edition) doesn't get anywhere near as much development as the Kenzo-Kate devices (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Qualcomm Snapdragon 2GB/3GB RAM Editions), and Android Pie isn't even developed for the MediaTek version of the phone.

Don't go around asking for stuff, we don't get paid for this, you caused a problem, you're the one who needs to fix it, no one has any obligation to help.
That said, if you had read the thread instead of just downloading the ROM you'd have noticed tons of people with the same problem and all have been given the same solution, flash the VoLTE fix.
Also, you posted on the wrong forum, this one is for mediatek based devices.
Guys, don't mind to reply OP. This man doesn't know how to read properly

No you don't install Pixel Experience 9.0. It isn't available for this device (henessy).
If you have kenzo or kate, then you want the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 [Snapdragon] forum.
Post this was a reply to, got deleted.
Follow this guide
Xiaomi and Verizon
The followong devices have been tested on Verizon in the US: Xiaomi 11T Xiaomi 12 global version Xiaomi 12X global Working: 5G VoLTE SMS both sending and recieving Phone calls both sending and recieveing IMPORTANT: MMS on stock Global/China ROM...

Then in addition install magisk and install the attached module
[mod/magisk/root] VoLTE enabler
I had already posted this somewhere inside a thread but many people still keep asking the same question. Attached is a simple Magisk module to enable VoLTE if it is not enabled for your country/carrier. I don't guarantee that it will work for...

Were you able to get this to work on the realme GT 2 Pro?
I cannot find the telephony.db file in either my realme GT 2 Pro or my Verizon compatible OnePlus 8T. Should it be in data/data/com.android.providers.telephony or somewhere else?

The only db I found at that location is mmssms.db which is likely not the same. I was able to search my phone and find a telephony.db file located at data/user_de/0/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/ but I havent been able to follow the guide properly. Did you ever end up working on this?
Anyone else have realme gt2 pro on verizon somehow? It has all the necessary 4G/LTE bands so in theory it should work.
