Google Keep Dark Theme on V30? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Has anyone got the dark theme option on Google Keep on their V30? I have a stock H932 (T-Mobile USA) without that option. The option is available on my Moto Z2 Force (see attached screenshot). Both phones are stock on Android 8.0 running Google Keep 5.19.191.07.40. The dark theme option showed up a week ago on my Moto, but still not showing on my V30.

Haven't looked at my Google keep since 3 weeks ago when I needed my ejuice recipe.
Saw this thread and decided to check.

Volte for G2 and not the G3?

Why was the G2 the first to get Volte?
because that was the device they tested it on leading up to the launch. The G3 hadn't come out yet as they were testing.
It's also on the galaxy s5 so when did testing start?

Not sure, I just remember reading somewhere that they picked those two phones to start testing, and instead of re-writing everything for a newer phone, they just released what they had.
I went to the feature change page for my G3 and didn't see the feature there. Can anybody else here see the feature?

No one can because Verizon hasn't enabled it yet.
They just recently got the 4.4.4 update, so it would make sense as to why the S5 just barely got in and the G2 has been there for over a year.
I'm sure once we get the 4.4.4 update we will have VoLTE capability.

The waiting game.
VZW is in a "Network Freeze" this week, through the next. They are adding a ton of new things. VoLTE is just one of them. They are doing the G3 first because it was test. There is testing on the S5, and G3 as well now. It will be added in the G3 4.4.4 update.
So, is there now a G3 4.4.4 update in testing at VZW?

VoLTE has been rolled out. If you have a compatible phone (either an S5 for a G2) then you will be able to add the feature under the "add features" section on your "my account" page. It also comes with free basic visual voicemail. Once you do that, you should have the "volte" feature box enabled in your "mobile data" settings on your phone. I tested this last night with a buddy who has a G2 and video calls/HD voice calls were sweet. the volte calls were crystal clear.
The VLG G3 came with basic visual voicemail, but I didn't much like it. I guess no VoLTE yet, anyway ?
I will enable it on my wife's G2.

Still haven't seen anything hit the test teams desk.
It's pretty annoying actually. You think you buy the latest and greatest only to find out you didn't. I'm thinking more and more everyday I should have gotten the S5 instead.
My only hope is that the boot loader gets cracked. I don't believe the Samsung bootloaders will ever be unlocked again....but at least some have safestrap.

So basically from what you are saying, is that for once it is no Verizon's fault, but LG's fault for not releasing an update for us.
Figures, LG still hasn't learned. Bummer is they already released like 3 or so performance updates for the Euro G3, but nothing for the US yet. Dam slackers.
From a few threads I've came across, the Euro updates help with performance and the phone seems a bit more smooth now.

Don't be too negative just yet. Maybe they're working on going straight to Android L? Who knows, certainly not us...
I am not at all sure I want to be required to install new Android L sometime next Spring as the only option for correcting some of the problems and performance issues with the v10b version Verizon shipped on this device.
Aren't some of the non-Verizon versions of the G3 already on 10I or better ?
I would like one update before an initial L release for a better Kit Kat.
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
LG should at least fix their bugs in KK before they release L.
Some people may prefer to stay on KK and not update to L, so they deserve at least a stable version of KK with good performance.
So any new news on this?

Thinking of getting a g5

Hey All,
I'm currently using the g2 and it finally broke on me and I've been thinking about getting the g5 (t mobile version) off swappa. But I'm trying to get a sense of how development is working.
I've been trying to read through some of the threads here, but there don't seen to be a lot of guides. It seems like tmobile (h830) and the h850 only have roms available. When I looked, it seemed as simple as getting twrp running. But when I looked into that, I couldn't find a thread about h830 twrp. I found something about unlocking the bootloader, but that also seemed to be only possible if I happened to get a phone that hasn't been updated.
I guess I'm asking, if I pick up a g5 and it's been fully upgraded, is it possible to downgrade, unlock the bootloader, and flash twrp? Or do I need to try to find a specific version of the g5. Are there any guides that I seem to have missed that go through this process?
Hi
I am a G5 H850 owner and on Nougat 7. I have unlocked bootloader and TWRP and root. All done while on Nougat. Hope this helps.

Don't man... I have an G5. And it has a lot issues with basic stuff like GPS. Go for an Oneplus if needed. I have already listed my G5 on sale. Just my 50 cents of advice
i’m using a G5 (H850) since a few month without any problem. No screen ghosting / no GPS trouble! Nougat is running well ( without root or unlocked BB!) so far. But it seems to be a little bit difficult to get a 100% error free unit. Until now, it looks like, i have one of it. I pray ,that it will stay.
Why not get the h850 it's LTE works everywhere afaik

Yeah I kind of want a oneplus, but I also need to buy two phones right now. One for me and my gf. Trying to keep it under $500 for both and a used one plus is still pretty expensive in comparison to a used G5.

Nice, now I'm a little more hesitant picking one up though. Didn't know there were so many problems with it...
bug-list in short form:
* GPS problems because the pins for contacting the antenna are sometimes a little bit slack
* Screen sometimes will have a little ghosting (like AMOLED ) But less than Samsung S7 will have!
* Battery should have 2.800mah but this could be different +/- 15%
* the battery compartment cover includes the microfon too! Sometimes this cover has bad contact
* it is difficult to get a tempered glass screen-protector for it because the screen is bent
* Nougat update sometimes seems to be buggy
see here for more informations -> http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/lg-g5-problems/
but as i wrote, my phone is error free until now.

As far as your question goes, yes you can get a t-mobile h830 (g5) on any version of software and you will be okay. If it's still on MM, you can use the modified tot flashing method or dirty cow. If it's on Android N, you will need to use dirty cow and if it's above 20A, you have to downgrade to 20A. Look in the T-mobile section for the guides on how to unlock your bootloader and get twrp and root (which voice you need to view will depend on what version of software your phone has on it). As far as development, there's one stock based rom (fulmics) and a couple non stock ROMs (LOS, RR, DU and one or two more) for our phone. As far as the issues with the phone that other people have posted about, it really just depends on the phone you get. Me and my gf both have g5s and neither of us have any issues, but many others have had problems. Anyways, if you get the t mobile version you can unlock your bootloader, get twrp, root and custom ROMs if you want. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for the info! I was reading on some of the non-stock roms that camera quality isn't as good as fulmics, but I didn't know how much of a difference that was. Do you have any experience with that?

As far as camera quality, any room other than true stock will have some quality issues or issues of not having all of the features that stock camera has. Even on fulmics ROM camera has issues with manual mode I believe. But thats just how custom ROMs go. As far as quality difference between stock and quality on custom ROMs, it's not that much. You will notice a difference if you compare pictures from stock to ones from custom ROMs, although quality on custom ROMs it's fine to me. Again though, you can always dual boot stock and custom ROMs to have the best of both worlds

That just means it locked to T-mobile you can get it unlocked for free I think
http://phandroid.com/2016/07/07/how-to-sim-unlock-the-lg-g5/
Do not get it on T-Mobile whatever you do. If you do get the device at all, get either the International version or the H850 model. The bootloader can be unlocked on these, therefore opening up the possibilities.
Don't get wrong, the phone has a lot of great selling points; just keep you're options open or you'll regret it later.
Hope this helps.

If you get lucky with the version with no issues it's not that bad. The specs are pretty good for this phone, just the build quality not so much. This phone can be bought for $300 and some change.
Honestly go compare this to the new LG 6 and galaxy S8. Pay almost triple with tax for a slight upgrade spec wise? Nah I am cool.

Probably stop refreshing. From what I've read, Korea gets it today and there's no info on the rest of the world. We're probably waiting a bit.
LG G6 (Korean) just got an update to Android Oreo today. Has anyone tried to install AR Stickers and AR Core? I tried to install it but it seems doesn't works. Anyone if has a suitable version of Google camera, AR Stickers, AR Core that can works well on G6, please reply. Thanks!

Not too much, maybe it's all about "bug fixes and performance improvement"
http://www.lge.co.kr/lgekor/mobile/notice/oreo01.jsp
beside some update listed there, this update also has hide navi bar feature
Honestly the hide nav bar thing should've been there when the phone was released, with the screen size and all that it only makes sense. What I'm curious of is did lg devise a way to do it without extra battery drain?

Be patient, the question has already been asked several times, it is necessary to wait until the people who had the update had time to perform a few cycles of use..
Okay I have it downloaded on a korean G600S. So far so good. Oreo 8.0 April 1st security patch. The settings menu is very different as expected. Performance is definitely a bit snappier just right off the bat.
Anyone got some news about when it will become avaible on the SEA 870ds version ? Cause my last update its from October...

I guess people shouldn't get too hasty.. The Oreo update is currently for Korea only. And they are getting that today so obviously they will need a day at least to check the performance and other stuff. So just wait. People will reply after testing properly

Substratum RRO is working on stock rom Nokia 8 Oreo 8.1

A few days back, I have installed and applied Substratum themes on my Nokia 8 with 8.1 oreo rom
Everything was perfect.
Here I just wanted to share my experience, if by any chance you also experienced this, please share it with us.
N.B. my phone bootloader is unlocked.
I use this months ago on android 8.1 , bootloader locked and all fine
it works. either rooted or unrooted. for unrooted phone all you need is andromeda..
Anyone else also has issues with using Substratum after the last security update? I seem to be unable to access my developer options, probably leading to the failure of starting Andromeda and Substratum.
My details:
Model : TA-1004
Android 8.1.0

Man, my wifi signal was lost during the OTA download and it failed. Now when I go to check for software udpate again, it doesn't see the new Pie OTA. ugggggg.
You're better off without it. New LG image is missing features in the last one, especially for AOD. Honestly I want to figure out if I can re-ROM it with the last one.
Well just had to factory reset to get OTA download to start again. Updating now!

Just happened to be looking for alternatives yesterday & today, as my 2yo AT&T V30 was starting to fail (alarm fails to go off, Chrome won't launch, security failures after using [email protected], preventing tunnel use). Had rebuilt just 3 months ago to no avail (stock).
Very glad to see the Pie update unexpectedly show up, and I'm hoping it to resolve all my issues (which I admit doesn't make sense).
That's wild, mine is still stuck on the March 2018 update. Fingers crossed I get an update soon!
-Bluetooth handoff from headset to car doesn't work...
-Dialing numbers in phone, hammers each number like 5 times...
-Landscape is near useless with the top bar being so big now.
-Night mode + High contrast Theme + Black wallpaper kicks ass! Love dark themes
-Performance is a little laggy, no major issues so far.
-Highlight magnification bubble with text select is cool.
-Power off and power on seem faster
-Just a few items I had noticed thus far on Pie...
-color icons are back on top status bar.
-Too many changes to list in one post... Still finding things too
