The community here on XDA is really great and rely a lot on the forums to keep my phones up to date with custom ROMs.
Now I recently got a P20 lite with EMUI 8.0 and unlocked it to install LineageOS. But there don't seem to be that many ROMs. The only ones I got working were the ones from OpenKirin. Unfortunately they are rather old and there is no auto-update. I tried some Treble ROMs from the development threads, but they didn't work.
Are there no other options for custom ROMs for this device? Or did I just try the wrong Treble ROMs? Which ROMs did you get to work?
Thanks to everybody for your help!
How did you unlock?
I just followed this guide and everything worked perfect: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...omplete-bootloader-unlock-root-guide-t3881779

Hi, guys, This is my first post need some tips on ROM +1
Thread moved to correct area.
1. LineageOS, ResurrectionRemix, BlissROMs, etc. are the biggest ones.
2. Most of the big brands have custom ROMs. Google, Sony, LG, OnePlus, Samsung, Huawei, etc. all have custom ROM support.
Hello everyone,so i have a rooted Vodafone VFD 300 and i would like to know if there are any custom roms out there for this device? It has Android 6.0 installed and i would really like to update it to a newer Android version. Android 7,8,9 or maybe even 10 if there is anything out there. Please if there are custom roms for it,could you point me in their direction.
List of available Custom ROMs here.
Because you can see that your device isn't listed there I'm afraid no Custom ROM for it exists.

Thanks, that is a pity though. I was hoping that seeing as it is a Mediatek device,it may share its platform etc with another device from another manufacturer and there may be a way to port a rom for it.
Hello guys,
I'm thinking about getting a custom ROM on my p20 lite. I'm an absolute beginner in this topic tho.
I've already looked up how to get a bootloader code via PotatoNV and how to root the phone with TWRP.
While looking for a ROM that suits my needs I realized that it's not that easy like I first thought it was.
For example LOS for p20 lite is not maintained anymore and I stumbled across multiple reports that the camera or fingerprint sensor did not work after installing a custom rom.
Therefore, my question is: Is there a ROM for my p20 lite that is stable enough to use it as a daily driver without the need of countless hours of fixing errors?
I'm not that picky when it comes to the different OS. I just don't want to use EMUI anymore because it feels like the Chinese can see anything I do (totally regret buying this phone btw)
Any help or opinions are very appreciated! Thank you very much!
Model: ANE-LX1
Build: 9.1.9.377
EMUI: 9.1.0

Sorry to sound rude here, but maybe if you try to read whole section you would find the answer...

"Warning: The Huawei P20 Lite is no longer maintained. A build guide is available for developers that would like to make private builds, or even restart official support."
The problem is that I don't understand most of the stuff. But This TWRP is DISCONTINUED, "I have unlocked my device and is currently running LineageOS 16 from OpenKirin. There are a few things which does not work, like the camera app that comes with the OS as well as the notch, where icons goes beyond the notch.", "These gapps are unofficial and are in beta stage so you can maybe face a lot of crases", .... sound like I have to put in a lot of effort into this. I'm wondering if it's worth the time if in the end it doesn't work anyway.
A good choice is CAOS. There are a lot of users here running it. And @-Alf- gives great support as long as you read the forum and follow given links.
Hello everyone!
For a while now I've been looking for a MIUI based ROM for my P20 Lite, currently I'm using Lineage OS.
I found on a site a One OS GSI ROM but I don't know if it can be installed on the device.
Has anyone tried installing something like this and could give me any recommendations or maybe know of a better option?
I would really appreciate your help.
The link to the site where I found the ROM is this: https://tweakguy.com/download-one-os-miui-12-5/
It's GSI, it can be installed on any phone with GSI support, however, the problem is the boot process, and if it booted up, it'll probably load a lot of bugs which needs maintenance by a maintainer.
Also I don't feel comfortable to these sites, if that's true, it should be shared amongst a lot of forums.
Hello, don't download MIUI, OneUI or any other skins not designed for our phone. Only AOSP firmware based on phhusson sources works on our device!
You can try MIUI 11 Lite GSI (so far the only one that has booted) . But there are a lot of bugs - fingerprint, NFC, setup wizzard, USB debugging, device certification ....

I have a Redmi Note 10S. It's quite a good phone but it has 0 custom roms (except a debloated MIUI). After failing to build one myself (don't blame me, I never built any rom and I never found a good tutorial to follow), I had the idea of porting a custom rom from a similar phone. After a bit of searching, I found a perfect "twin" for my phone: Oppo realme 6. It has a bunch of A11 / A12 roms, and especially everything is same: chipset (MTK6785), screen resolution, storage size, ram size, camera quality... But when I looked for tutorials about porting roms between mtk chipsets, all of the ones I found had completely different steps involved. This is very confusing, as hardbricks are deadly for mediatek devices. I need to be very cautious, so can anyone guide me with the right way of doing so ?
