Global Beta 9.5.30 is rolling out and the fp sensor is once again faster, even more so than it was in 9.5.16.
Great job by Xiaomi!
Does this rom have the notification "problems" like the latest EU has (it appears for a few seconds, disappears and the clock appears instead)?

No, this version and the prior one do not have the notifications issue. The icons are not removed and will be visible next to the clock as long as the notifications are active.

No need to enroll. Just download it from the Miui web site, put it in the root folder of your internal storage and then flash it through the built in software updater.
Click on the three dots on the top right and choose your install package.

It's NOT recommended, you will lose DRMs (temporarily tho).
I have global rom with XASP patch, do i need to reflash XASP if i decides to flash this beta? Any downside?
What does *temporarily" means? Will widevine L1 be implemented also in Global Beta?

You can download the latest stable and developer rom's here:
http://en.miui.com/getrom.php
You also don't need to have an unlocked bootloader to flash it coming from the global stable. I flashed it using the built in update in miui. I think you need to click on the Miui logo several times to unlock the option to select a rom in the three-dot menu.
Anybody have problems with the camera visualising screen ratio? I have an a big black band above visualization

Definitely a very stable release with no major issues.
The minor flaws include higher standby battery usage (seems above 1% per hour even in deep sleep), and not so perfect auto brightness, at least with DC dimming.
Not sure if any of those issues are exclusive to the developer Rom or present with stable as well.
Camera shortcut using AI button now saves the photo in gallery, about time they fixed it.
Overall very stable. No issues with notifications. My only complaint is that auto brightness tends to be a bit too dim. The rest is just spot on, especially if you put Poco Launcher and remove all the crap with XiaomiADBFastbootTools.

this is how edge notifiction look at mi8
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PcJe37N6vfE
but mi8 needs to be set-up as new phone with actual fw ( no cloud backup restore)
if you always updated your Mi8 and AOD Edge notification are still not working,
copy your latest rom.zip to your phone, start twrp, wipe "system" and "cache & dalvik"
and reflash your rom. (your data and settings are kept)
AOD Edge Notifications are working after that. (SMS purple, Whatsapp green)
(whatsapp edge notifications are shown for me after second notifications)
Is there source for other AOD Styles ? Has anyomne managed to extract / convert
the Mi9 AOD Styles , so we can use them with the Mi8 ?????
First, If your AOD does not work, cause you did always an update
and never did a clean install since 9.x.x.x, you have to download the mi8rom.zip (xiaomi.eu)
copy it to your Mi8, start twrp and wipe "system" and "dalvik cache"
(your Mi8 wont boot without system so do not reboot)
go back to Install and re-install the Mi8Rom.zip
(your settings and data are kept)
so, I managed to use some Mi9 AOD Styles on my Mi8.
What I did:
-extraced the Mi9 rom
AOD Files are stored in:
system\priv-app\MiuiSystemUI\MiuiSystemUI.apk\res\drawable-440dpi-v4
and
\system\priv-app\Settings\Settings.apk\res\drawable-440dpi-v4
- used the AOD update script from "Dimas Alam" (he did the Batman AOD theme)
and replaced the AOD files.
Download: Mi9 AOD for Mi8
Just flash the script via TWRP

How can I check if I am able to install this ROM?
I download the ROM but I need to know it before flash.
Well the ROM will either install or it won't. There is no in-between. You can try installing it in Update manager by selecting "Install from zip file".
If this option is missing in update manager... Press the MIUI 10 icon multiple times and it will say additional settings unlocked. From there click 3 dots, select the package and install.
I'd recommend you wait for the official OTA.
Poco CEO will release official tweet.

Can I check, has anyone received this via OTA update or has everyone downloaded and flashed the zip?
As far as I know.
The only people who have received the update are the people who signed up for beta testing. Everyone else is downloading and flashing the ROM from TWRP.
I'd recommend you not do that as this is still not final ROM. Final ROM for POCO MIUI 11 will be released on November 14th.

Hi,
Is this an explanation provided by xiaomi ?
And if yes, could you give us the source ?
Thanks in advance
You got 2 options as I see. If you are ok with using button navigation instead of gesture navigation you can goto Button shortcuts ( in additional settings) and assign any of the 3 navigation buttons ( Long press) to open split screen. This worked in my Redmi Note 10 Running MIUI 12.0.1 ( android 11)
Second easiest method I found is to use the app EDGE GESTURES and assign TOGGLE SPLIT SCREEN to any swipe or gesture on an edge. This also works . But make sure you give / enable auto start permission and Turn off Miui battery saving options for this app. Otherwise Miui Will Kill the app after some time .
I am on 12.0.4. split screen working perfectly for me.
Simplest method is to get this app. It will add a quick setting tile to directly enable split screen

You can update manually, if you wish, by downloading the firmware from the asus support website and leaving the zip file on the root of the phone. A popup will appear upon reboot asking if you want to update.
I am on the latest and see no difference, unfortunately.

No, OTA functionality is intact, until you unlock the bootloader
I got the OTA of this update overnight
The the processing feels faster IMO but no quality change. I was also getting my screen stuck at 60hz after unlucking and the update seems to fixed it. Which is nice
No real improvement. I'm waiting for a fix when shooting raw - it takes 1 sec to take a picture after pressing the shutter.
I don't see any change in picture quality, sadly.
