Hey guys I accidentally wiped some stuff in TWRP and now I need a backup that I do not have, so if someone can backup CUST, DATA ( excl. storage ), OEMINFO, PRODUCT, PRELOAD, PRELOAD IMAGE, VERSION, ODM via TWRP and upload it to AFH or Mega I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.
Got it solved using this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...-to-update-huawei-mate-20-pro-locked-t3897480

TWRP for the OPX brings up the partitions below:
System
Data
Cache
Persist
Boot
Recovery
EFS
I wondered which ones I should be backing up for standard nandroid backups? I used to do System, Data +/- Cache on my OnePlus One. I did EFS once and backed it up externally and on the SD card, but never restored it.
Do we need to backup all partitions every time?
More importantly, do we need to restore all partitions if restoring an older nandroid of the same ROM or one from a different ROM?
Many thanks

All recommended.
You can store your backups on SD card and forget to worry about the sizes.

hi i recently updated from twrp 2.7.1 to 3.0.0 twrp recovery on my xt1022. although i am getting some new options in this version when trying to make nandroid backup.
i am getting these partitions option :
system
data
cache
boot
firmware
efs
i know about all the partitions except firmware. what is that partition there for? should i take its backup too with a normal recovery ? whats its function? also the data partition is very big than before. does it take backup of all the app data on external sd too?
please help any help would be appreciated
Could anybody link a full system backup for the redmi 6a which includes the vendor partition? I backed up my device but didn't back up the vendor partition and broke the vendor partition so it's not booting anymore.
Could someone at least post a backup of the vendor partition from twrp? Much appreciated!
Thank you
Hi there.
Following this howto https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/how-to-boot-sd-card-qmobile-z8-bricked-t3712171 , it seems that I need to have working phone in order to make dd copies of partitions userdata, system, cache, persist and misc. Can anybody provide me images of these partitions from working SAMSUNG NOTE4 SM-N910F ? Without that i cannot boot my bricked phone from sd card.
Thanks a lot for help.

I know this should be pretty basic, but I've found some conflicting information online. I'm running crDroid at the moment and I'd like to make a perfect backup that will restore the entire system, apps, and app data as it was at the time of backup.
TWRP offers me 14 partition options for backup:
Spoiler: Partitions
Data (excl. storage)
Cache
System
System Ext
Vendor
Boot
EFS
Android Secure
Modem
Persist
Recovery
Internal storage
System Image
Vendor Image
If I understand right based on the TWRP FAQ, then backing up "System Image" and "Vendor Image" should be what I need. Have I got that right?
You are right System Image and Vendor Image, but also add Data and for kernel add Boot and Dtbo.
Those partitions need to be recovered to get your old ROM back.
Once you should backup EFS which contains IMEI and also Persist if the recovery supports it.
EFS and Persist should only be recovered when you really need to.
Happy flashing.
