Redmi note 3 yellowish display

I have ordered 2 redmi note 3 32 gb gold one from mi last month and 2nd from amazon 10 days ago.
1st phone showing white disply its ok but 2nd phone showing slightly yellowish disply..
anybody facing same problem?should i replace the phone? or its commen? See the images..
Have you tried disabling automatic contrast (i.e. setting contrast to "standard") on both phones and comparing again? The only other think I can think of is maybe there is more than one manufacturer for the screens and this might be normal?
mine also yellowish

There's another thread on the miui forums pretty identical to this. As the others have said, it's due to the display provider, none of your units is faulty. Most of us have the colder looking display. You can send back the other unit if it's really an issue for you.
Recently I replaced my screen and the new one had a terrible yellowish tint compared to the older one. It was like the phone was on night mode all the time and the white colours where more like yellow than white. I tried to mess with colours in kernel adiutor and by reducing the green value things got a little better, not like the old screen but colours where bearable. Today I took the decision to move from miui to cm and when I booted to twrp colours seemed very normal but I thought that maybe it was in my imagination. But after flashing and booting in cm I see now that colours are perfectly normal like my old screen. So I'm starting to think that the yellowish tint has more to do about miui's settings than the different screen models. Maybe whoever has that yellow tint could try to switch to cm and if the problem does not exitst any more it is definitely a miui problem.

Mate 10 yellowish stripe on screen bottom

Hi,
I have a Mate 9, and tried a 5T, didnt like it due to 18:9 aspect ratio and I returned it.
Now I'm trying the Mate 10 and so far I'm liking it, it is not a big upgrade from Mate 9, it actually loses on sound power and screen brightness compared to M9, but overall it is good, specially because I think that it is going to be one of the last flagships to come with 16:9 on near future.
I prefer FPS on rear, but the possibility to use the FPS as navbar make it worthy to be on front.
All said, what is bothering me is that on the very bottom of the screen there is a yellowish stripe (all screen wide), making the screen uneven on color.
Had anyone have this issue?
Could it be the glue not be totally cured? Will it fade with time?
It bothers me and I dont want to return the phone because of this, but if the issue is final, I'll return it.
How'd you go with this? Did it go away or did you return it for another unit?
I'm in the exact same situation. Slight yellow tinted band at the bottom. Kinda trying to convince myself it doesn't bother me, but I can't help but look at it every time now. Hope it will fade away. Don't really want to return it either.
I git that yellowish tint also at the bottom screen. I already send to huawei service center ti change new screen but have the same problem after changed new screen. Any advice? Should i send back to huawei and change a new screen again? Thank you

Weel indeed, if your model is a Mate 10, then no OLED screen, so different problem than mine. Good luck !
Well i think it's the glue wich is not cured totally yet.
When i got my Mate 10, i had exactly same yellowish part at the bottom screen and now its totally gone.
Use your screen brightness as high as you can for some time and watch for it, mine took like 2 weeks for be gone.
Sorry for my poor english

Yer I think it's just the shadow from the notch was just curious as hadn't noticed it on the honor 10 or play, long as its not just mine then not concerned it's a one off fault, cheers for confirming [emoji106]

maybe its a feature to help the notch blend in to the screen ?
Anyway guys slightly off topic but what do you think of the phone so far ? I'm looking at it as a possible upgrade to my honor 9

Well so far I'm very impressed with the 8x grate battery life awesome screen performance is lightning not much to grumble at really, my only con was the the fact they used USB 2.0 rather than type C nobody is using USB now and for a 2108 device makes no sense at all I don't think it would of made the device cost more I personally would of paid a extra £10 for type C, but personal preference and not really a deal breaker, I've owned the honor 10 and play and is on par with them at fraction of the cost camera is pretty well on par with honor play also can get some nice shots, some bad as well,
Deff if on a budget of £230 then this is a must to get if want to spend extra £50 then the play isn't bad to if wanted type C that bad,
Sent from my JSN-L21 using Tapatalk
Thanks Dooby
Yeah i was looking at the honor 10 but went for the 9 as i didn't want a huge screen and it was £100 cheaper , then i realised a 5.1 inch screen and fat thumbs don't go well together lol . Now if only i can come up with a good reason to buy another phone without disturbing the peace in the house

Lol I know the feeling, 8x has very minimal bezel and tiny chin also the advantage of no honor logo on front, slightly wider then the honor play so good for movies and vids if wanted slightly narrower then the play would fit the bill but I've big hands so 8x is perfect for me [emoji16]

Doubtful seems to be shadow effect from the black notch you could reduce brightness or tinker with the screen modes see if reduces the shadow from notch maybe but don't think a software fix can help more of a manufacturing flaw or screen quality issue , the 8X max has bad light bleed take a look at frankietech video review on 8x max its not good ,

PSA: Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a display problem - Gluegate

VÍDEO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smsc_wp_YuI
UPDATE:
OK, now it's a widespread issue.
It looks like it could be the glue drying or something else.
Because the issue appears after some days of usage.
Btw, I've returned my phone
-------------------------
I bought the Mate 20 Pro the 18th of October, at first the display looked fine but it's been some days already that I'm noticing a yellow/green tint on the right side of the display that reminds me so much to the problem that happened with the Nexus 4 (it was because of the glue [https://www.pocketables.com/images/....com/images/2012/12/nexus-4-yellow-screen.jpg) ).
And it's getting worse.
It's not just me, another user on XDA and another user on Reddit also said that are having the same issue.
If it's the glue, even if you don't notice the issue right now on your device, it might appear in the next days, as it happened to me.
These are my pictures:
What do you think?
I'll go and return my phone for another one this Monday. And if the new one has the same problem I'll ask for a refund
UPDATE:
More things I've noticed:
After playing a burn in fix video, the way that this issue looks is different, it changes.
Here I took some pictures of the display with a black background:
https://imgur.com/a/RVscvY9
NEWEST UPDATE:
There seem to be two different issues, or maybe one. Maybe it's related with the display controller
Here's a video

It appears that the problem appears after some days of usage, so It could be a gluegate, that's why I opened this post, to warn users.

is there a way to find out if your unit has a BOE or LG display? All of the reviewers said the screen was amazing but LG screens had a lot of complaints on the Pixel

Then it will probably be the glue
if its glue, its a manufacture faulty batch (lets hope). This even happened years ago with Samsung phones due to poor QA (and for Samsung that's huge).
While highly unlikely, if you happen to find its software related or to do with w/display driver, post it in the EMUI/software problem/fault thread so you can let others know. Also, be sure to get in touch with Huawei and keep us posted on your results.
EDIT 1/11: From what I can read on the first 30-40 pages its moistly screens with LG and not BOE. Its in multiple regions, so let's way a few more weeks and see if the newer BOE batches or wave 2 of the shipments fixes the issue...

I have similar problem. The brighter shade can be visible on both sides ( on the right side little bit more expressive) and at notch edges. I'm returning phone tommorow . Sucha a shame :/
I have the same problems
Following this. I also have the same issue. Not sure though if it's to do with the screen refractions on the curved glass. Will wait to see what happens with others. What apps are people using to test?

I thought that. I've never had a curved like this. I put a black wallpaper on and it's fine. Put a colour one on and you see it
A great way to tell is if you have a white chrome window and then pull the notification shade down it shows all around the notch. I think it's something to do with greys on low light levels?
Yeah greys at low light seem to vary in colour a little, if it's really bad keep swapping the phone. I had to change my Nexus 6P made by Huawei 3 times before I got a good screen. Mine is slightly lighter on the bottom third but it's hardly noticeable so I'm going to stick with it.

I've got the XDA app open and it's green on the left , green around the top and bottom left. Think I hear the 6T
For me it was netflix loading screen,it's gray, and the amount of shade was overwhelming :-/ I'll check another version tommorow,if the issue will show up on another device i quit and wait for S 10 probably.

Strange Watermarks on Screen

I recently bought pre-owned Mate 20 Pro UK version with BOE display.
There are quite alot watermarks on every screen that comes across and visible only in white background. Pictures attached (couldn't get better quality pics).
These 3 watermarks are spread over top, middle and lower side of the screen. After looking closely i could read "Huawei Mate20 Pro" written on top of the screen along with few other marks as well. Couldn't get the visible enough picture of the middle area hence not showing here. On the lower side of the screen, there seems to be 3 marks those resembles the camera snap button, Gallery Open button and Front Camera button.
Do anyone know about this strange phenomenon? Is it only me or anyone else has got something similar?
I was on EMUI 9.1 before updating to EMUI 10 few days back. It was the same case with EMUI 9 as well.

There are some apps that repeatedly can cycle various colors to cause wear on the other pixels in attempt to make screen more even.
Use these with caution.
Other than that, no. A screen replacement is the only solution. Screen burn in is the result of pixel wear.
