Hey Guys, this is a private build I use for myself because I enjoy building for Nexus devices.
I'll update the post to look fancier later when I feel like it but I personally like it simple.
Standard Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked device and/or device going thermonuclear.
PS: I test builds on my own device before posting, you are on your own if you flash builds not highlighted.
Also PS: What doesn't work in LOS 15.1 like BT call, shouldn't work here too. I don't have BT devices so I can't test this out.

Hey, I'll be supporting for both but PIE is still in Alpha testing phase.
Thus far oreo works best for me.
Flashing should be pretty straightforward. I don't think I'll be posting any screenshots on flashing instructions. Mostly if I will its just the about phone section, but if you have anything you can definitely ask or even PM me.
Hey, i'm just joking... don't take serious...
Oreo is always stable and best for Nexus 5... I'll flash it and let you know ...
FYI: Oreo is missing LatinIME no idea why. will fix soon "hopefully"
In all seriousness.
If anyone wants to try PIE. This is the direct link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fOTGXxUsOYMzHJ-tmovBBdNBv-6lDUNn
Freshly built.
after flashing one day review:
Suggestions:
1. There is no keyboard, so i have installed manually.
2. APN settings have to type manually.
3. Battery drains very fast.
4. I have installed Lawnchair v2 apk, it is better than Trebuchet.
Good things:
1. Good and smooth experience
2. Direct Home button animation is awesome (without options to select)
3. Don't find any new difference.

Go for PIE. In Oreo the keyboard was messed up on the building side. I rebuilt but have not tested
Guys, I apologize but this month's upload will be slightly delayed due to my work and studies having major setbacks. Again, I apologize.

Pie is working overall well, only NFC is not detected.
Hi! I tested Pie on my Nexus 5: everything is working well,I'm really impressed. But the NFC is not detected,it should be present in the settings but it is missing. In my previous Pie based on AOSP the NFC was detected. Overall it is a very stable ROM.Thanks.
Very nice job with this rom. Runs great. Great having AICP on Hammerhead. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing your personal builds. Much appreciated :good:
Offline Google Assistant ?
Great ROM. Thanks for taking the time to build it.
Could anyone try to use Google Assistant while Offline?
I'm on the latest Pie build and it's not working.
Also Online works fine to start applications (e.g. Google music) but then fails to control them (e.g. skip song)

Quick question - I'm just curious. All the other Pie ROMs (well, most) demand that the system partition size be increased, but this one doesn't. It does take a long time to boot - maybe that's in some way related? But everything works fine - for my purposes, anyway.
Kudos to @KiD3991 not only for the continued N5 support but also for making the Pie upgrade simple.
Edit: So my question is - why does this ROM not need a larger system partition?

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

FAQ
How often will builds be produced?
When I have the time and when I want to.
Some feature is not working, can you fix it?
If it is working on Lineage, I'll look into it. If not then it will probably get fixed eventually by the Lineage team.
I dirty flashed and now have some issues
I recommend a clean flash and stock kernel. If you ignore this, then please don't post your problems here before trying a clean flash.

Hi bro
Congratulations for the new rom.
Just wanted to suggest uploading to another site like AFH or Mediafire, Mega is hard to download from using phone, and their app has a lot of bugs, thanks again :good:
If you need me to upload it for you, I'm here (just in case your Internet connection was bad or something...)

I installed it yesterday, and I expected more functionality... I don't know if it was bugged on my device or this ROM doesn't support it, but Quick Settings panel wasn't working at all. Can't wait for updates though!

Hmm, I just plugged in some earbuds, and, well, they don't work!
Is this a problem with the rom or a firmware issue ( similar to the RR and LOS )?
Funnily enough twitch stutters like crazy with earbuds in, but works fine without.
Edit: I can confirm that flashing new firmware fixed my problem. See RR thread.

I noticed that my wifi connection is WAY more stable after flashing that DEV China Modem Firmware and the build overall is more smooth ? Or it's my imagination
IF you want to update to latest RRemix, you need to download that China Dev from the google link, install it normally via TWRP, wipe cache and dalvik cache (safe way) and boot the phone, after that i restarted again in TWRP and installed latest RRemix rom and all GOOD (these steps worked for me in the 1st try)

Thank you so much. I love your roms, have been using different iterations of nexus experience for several years now and it is very beautiful and smooth on our Natrium.
Again, much appreciated. Can I ask why this thread is in the News & Discussion section and not officially under the the Development threads? It is as solid and stable ( for me at least) as RR or LOS. Just wondering...
Tnx and, very much looking forward to next version with substratum etc.

When using LOS and RR, my camera app crashes every time I switched to front camera , and I could not find OTG devices using LOS. On the other hand, MIUI roms suck in getting GPS signals. Can any one tell me if this is the cure for all those problems?

Excellent Rom. To stay perfect, just adjust the sensors. Because the two touches on the screen is not working and the device is activated when you have it in your pocket.
Great rom, everything works and GPS is really fast
Still rocking this ROM, works pretty well.
Had just one freeze last month, which I think is fair given the release status of the kernels and roms.

Not really sure how to answer this.
To my experience, impeccable, but then again, I don't install very power consuming apps (facebook) or use data.
Phone lasts a day or three or four without doing much I think.
And without doing much, that means running sleep at night, whatsapp in the background and occasionally replying to friends when I'm in bed or consulting websites when watching streams on my tablet.

Wow did that install fast! I no longer have a sim card in this phone - it is basically a reader for my ebooks. But when I saw your rom I decided to give it a whirl. First real issue? No fingerprint. I'm about to retry... but the fingerprint pad gave no response to the phone when I first tried to set it up. Will report back if it works on a retry.
And it did work on a retry! Excellent!
Thanks!!

I noticed this issue upon several dirty flashes while testing. Fingerprint takes quite some time to load. Might be a bug on my side. I'll test a little bit more until I release another build. Though I realized that the standby was good on wifi. So yeah. I'll look onto the signal drops too.
Ss please
Review:
Rom installs quite fast..
Open gapps Micro recommended for the best results
No heating issues,
Everything basic works, fp, cam, network etc
Love the accent picker:good:
Btw, I didn't face any Network reboot issues
Rom is quite stable
Battery backup and standby are the best among any pie rom right now.
Issues:
1. smoothness is a little let down when compared to pixel experience
2. There are some UI glitches , hope they can be fixed easily (reference: see the screenshot of phone app.. the nav bar is not yet fully compatible)
3. Settings take a lot of time to open. Like 2 seconds .. (plz fix this)
Suggestion:
Plz make animation scale 1.0x by deafult..
Plz make pixel launcher default..
Thanks for the rom:good: .. I'm happy to test stuff if you want something.. I'm gonna use this for a while , just for the battery backup..

Can't tell ETA rn as I'm the only one working on this for cedric and I've got school and ****. But yeah might take a bit longer as the keyhandler service for MotoActions is missing and I'll have to add it.

The color accent picker is something I'm planning to add soon. And about the clock try the systemUI tuner
for dark mode, do try the night mode from developer options

Okay understand ... so for the time being without moto actions. I try it if moto actions work, but i think you made a good job.

Thanks man! Moto actions are something not worth trying as they're added but won't show up due to the missing keyhandler. I'll try to fix it asap though.
I just tried your rom and I love it! It's SUPER clean and the added features are great. Although I'm not happy with the AOSP gestures (OnePlus gestures) because this device has a front fingerprint so it just no make sense to me but I'm getting used to it and I think I'm staying here. Thanks a lot.
Sorry for bad english

I have Stock ROM Oreo and the original TWRP for Cedric.
Thanks in advance!

The original TWRP is 32bit you need a 64bit TWRP to flash this rom.

Well, this worked, thank you
I really like this COSP. Great work! :good:
But unfortunately my SIM cards weren't recognised
Perhaps I made a mistake?

Did you make a twrp backup? If so, you can restore the EFS partition. You should then have a working signal/sim card.

This is great! I will try it in the following days!
Hey, i have it flashed and it works fine so far. Only problem i have is the proximity sensor acting up.
With sensor test app it works but if i do call or listen to voice message in messenger apps it doesn't black out screen and doesn't change to earpiece
Edit: oh i just remember that had Xiaomi.eu weekly. Will flash stable og firmware and try again
Edit 2:. Yes that was indeed the problem. Thanks for the rom
New build is up, with buildin anxcamera. Both vanilla and gms build.
Hi! I'm coming from another rom and want to flash this one. I was wondering would I need to go back to miui and then flash or could I just flash it over the one im on now?
It depends on which rom you came from, if it's lineage or PE, then you don't need to go back to emui. In fact, just make sure your fw is V13.0.4.0.SKMCNXM

Hi!
I love the rom configuration options are great and it's generally very smooth, thank you for your work!
But...
I have some problems with the camera - opening the camera app or using the camera in any other apps often causes the whole system to freeze. Sometimes it's just a few seconds delay but sometimes it also needs a reboot to come back to life. Do you have similar behavior? Anything I can do about that?

It's true that anxcamera doesn't open fast, but in my case it doesn't have any bad effects, I have gcam installed at the same time and it's fine, just don't have 108m pixels. As for what you said about the camera causing the system freeze I have not encountered it, can you say what app it is?
For example NextBike app - you have to scan the QR code to rent a bike and it freezes when the camera is loading. Very annoying.
New builds are up:
June security patch
Change Kernel to inkypen's repo, upstreamed to 5.4.197 and latest lahaina CAF tag
Very Nice job but alarm doesn't work when I shut down the phone, sometimes the apn freeze.
Hi there first of all thanks for the rom this is the one I use to use with my other phones so I'm really happy with it.
But I have a problem. Android auto doesnt work and crash at startup when setting up with the car. Here are logs. Hope you can do something.
Thank you!
Here should be a better one. I did the crash twice in this one.
Looks like there is something wrong with permissions
Got it working by flashing non gms rom then basic NikGapps then android auto add on.
Freeze time to time but it works.
Must be something with your gapps integration.
Edit : made a simple kill AA app button on my home screen with tasker when android auto won't load. Maybe some other gapps can fix this tho.
