Hi,
I want to root a Huawei IDEOS X3 (U8510) any leads?
Thanks in Advance,
I tried Gingerbreak and it didn't work. Can someone help with this?
Just rooted my U8510:
Using Huawei U8650 Firmware
These two worked for me to root:
U8650V100R001C223B826(Malaysia General)
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...9918&attachmentName=U8650V100R001C223B826.zip
U8650-1 V100R001C86B823SP05(Spain Yoigo)
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...hod=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=39968
This firmware is compatible with our Huawei U8510.
Install the normal way by placing dload in SD and update (Settings,- storage,- Software Upgrade,- SD card Upgrade. accept, update installation will start when finished will restart and let it completely turn on.
To root:
download the file update.zip from here http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...ip from here&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13127313803713, copy it in your SD card (Leave it compacted in zip) then turn off the phone and put it in recovery mode (volume up+on/off switch for a few seconds).
Once in the recovery menu select "update from SD , chose the file, then reboot et voilà!
Your phone is rooted!
Note: the Huawei U8650 Firmware is 100% compatible but then you cant go back to U8510 firmare if you need the warranty. Also has a bug in compass.
Install at your own risk.
This is my only problem because i am new with ANDROID, is there is anyone that can help me with the recovering image for the Huawei U8510 just in case i need it.
But up till now the software is the same and running smoothly like original the Huawei U8510.

Does anyone know if the above method works on s42hw (AKA. pocket wifi s II) which is sold under E-mobile in Japan?
I don't have the phone yet but I believe it is a same phone as U8510.
I tried to do as you said, mngt135, but i get the error right when i select "upgrade from sd card": E:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory)
Can u guys help me?
Worked like a charm here. The only thing i miss is that the X3 Vodafone rom has toggles in the notification bar for wifi/gps/etc and at the U8650V100R001C223B826(Malaysia General) firmware doesn't. Someone tried the other rom? Does it have toggles in the notification area?

Do you have any SD-Card on your phone? Is it mounted and are you able to see its contents?

No it doesn't have togglers i use Extended Controls
attention cascalheira the two roms i have mentioned work to root the others like (U8650 V100R001C00B828SP03(general) did not work.
After disabling some system services i ended up with an unbeatable phone (Stuck at Huawei logo). After some time trying everything finally and almost getting mad, finally came across a way to reinstall it:
Put the update file in the dload folder on the sdcard root (using another phone or a card reader), and start your phone by pressing Volume Up+Volume Down+Power (Flash mode i think). It will install the file on the dload folder.
Probably these are OLD news for everyone else here, but anyway decided to post it so it can save some time to someone else.
Compass
Followed your steps to root the phone and everything worked perfectly. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the compass...
the two ROMs have Portuguese on language selection?
any fix for the compass?
there is some more things that need fix?
Thanks
Obrigado
Yes, both have portuguese and everything seems to work except the compass.
If you need the original ROM you can find it here
Huawei_Firmware_U8510
Also known as the Ideos X3 or Huawei Blaze.
Is there any way to install the ROM by ADB command?
Or convert the ROM to zip (recovery) or fastboot?
if there is a way to convert i like to know.
I want to return to the original version (U8510-1 V100R001C02B827 (Portugal Vodafone))
Not working on my phone:
bluetooth
compass
Well, I tried to root my u8510 using the method of "mngt135". But I have a problem: when is was in Android system recovery menu and choose "apply update from sdcard", when starts do install appears an error:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
What can I do?
Does someone have the huawei u58510 malaysia firmware to upload in some mirror, please? modacco/huawei links broken

Sorry, double post was unintentional.
The IDEOS X3 will be released in germany next week for just 99€. Since I bricked my LG today, I'm going to get a X3. Any chance about rooting it :/?
How to unlock?
Any news on this?
This is a dual SIM model of the Mate 10 Pro. I would like to become more up to date, the last update I received was a security update from July last year. I do love this phone and would like to squeeze more life out of it. The software updater says I'm up to date even though there's quite a few later OTA's and Full firmware releases since the release I am running.
I have attempted using the latest Firmware Finder with the DNS change trick. Everything is green lights within Firmware Finder app, change DNS, attempt to download using the OTA checker in settings and no update is ever found.
I have also tried manually downloading both the full and OTA files and extracting the .app package file into the dload folder of a USB C thumb drive of both fat32 and exfat. The updater (holding volume up/down buttons) gets to 5% reading the thumb drives and fails.
I've played with some of the hisuite tricks and still having no luck. .
Anyone have any most-recent mothods that should work for upgrading my firmware?
Thanks a lot.
-Steve
Got it...
Turns out that I was not flashing a "service" rom which is not easily available from huawei's servers but instead found elsewhere like android filehost. Dload method only allows "service" firmware roms with the "dload" folder in the archive.
Running 9.1.0.300 C605E2R1P12 now.
Thanks guys.
Stevey I too am stuck at 8.0.0.137, what steps did you take to get upgraded??

Hello everyone. A couple of days ago, I bricked my huawei mate 10 pro BLA-AL00 by flashing the wrong firmware. After a few days of experimentation, I was able to revive the phone by flashing the board software back onto the phone. Now the problem is that I am on a super early build of emui and it seems like its the stock factory software with a bunch of debugging programs on it. I am having some trouble updating the firmware to android 8. I downloaded this exact firmware file: https://androidhost.ru/bzx
I am having some trouble figuring out what files I need to flash. There is a main dload folder after extracting the files, but if I try to copy that onto a usb drive and flash it using the dload method, my phone will once again brick itself. I have tried flashing the all_cn firmware file using TWRP recovery, but that also bricks my device and puts it into a bootloop. I have also tried using the huawei update file extractor software and tried manually flashing the firmware using fastboot commands, but once again will just end up in a bootloop. Am i doing something wrong? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks
Hi,
I'm in the exactly same case. Did you manage to fix it?

I finally managed to figure everything out after days of research and testing. You must download the BLA-AL00 8.1.0.351 full ota firmware from pro-teammt.ru and extract the update.zip folder. Next, I used MRT Dongle 3.19 cracked to flash the firmware. https://www.gadgetsdr.com/mrt-dongle-latest-crack/ To activate the program, you must use the keygen provided to generate a activation code after pasting in your device id. The device id can be found by opening the mrt program for the first time. Paste in the activation code found by the keygen into the activator and the program should open. Next, click on hw flasher and put your phone into fastboot mode. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked. I assume it is unlocked as you only flashed the board firmware. Under write flash click on the 3 dots near the bottom of the page, select the update.app file you extracted before, and click on start. Don't worry if it says fail for the first few commands. It should successfully flash everything else. Once this process is finished, your phone should reboot. We need to do one final step and write the oeminfo back into the phone. Put your phone back into fastboot mode by plugging in your phone and holding down the power and volume down buttons. In MRT, click on update hw soft_ver, select huawei mate 10 pro, and click on start. After flashing, your phone should reboot normally now into an operating system!!!
Thank you for your answer ! My Mate 10 Pro is BLA-L09, how did you know you have to use this specific firmware (BLA-AL00 8.1.0.351 full ota firmware) for your BLA-AL00? I guess I should use BLA-L09 full ota but which version?

It took me a very long time and a large amount of downloading to figure out the exact firmware I needed to use. I just downloaded a bunch of version and see if it would flash onto my phone. Finally, the 8.1.0.351 firmware worked! For the bla-l09, im not too sure the exact version needed. I would experiment around and try a bunch of different full ota firmware from pro-teammt.ru Maybe you could flash the bla-al00 firmware and rebrand the phone? Im not too familiar with rebranding, but I know its possible.
I have tried with BLA-L09 8.0.0.115 firmware then my phone has reboot in a better factory version (EMUI 8 instead of EMUI 5), but still in factory mode, with the developpers apps. I've done the hw soft_ver update, but it still boot on this factory version. I've tried to flash another firmware (still BLA-L09 but another version), and now my phone stays shut down. I cannot even see it on my COM port. I've tried to use test point, I can hear the USB plug computer song but nothing happen. Phone no detected, black screen, no vibration. I've tested all the possible key combinaison (volume up, volume down, power button), still nothing .
Any idea of a last chance?
I was so close thank to your help!
Hello
I'm having problems with OTA Update my Xperia is still on android 9. I have customization UK i tried with PC Companion but didn't helped. Yesterday I tried to flash to Android 10 with flash tool and Neflasher. The flash tool didn't allow me to flash i tried 2 different firmware. When i made NewFlasher try the phone at the end couldn't boot up giving error it's corrupted and will turn of in 5 seconds. I flashed the firmware i had in origin and phone is alive. But I'm not sure what is the problem. I will appreciate any feedback maybe I'm doing something wrong or missing some steps. I tried to jump from Android 9 straight to version 10 leaving the meantime updates. Today I found in some other treads that I might should edit a script file or in Flash tool tick box customization reset and disable final verification. I didn't ticked this box. Is it possible that flashing wasn't done because of that. Please help.
