Please install "hw info" all from play store and check the bettery temperature when plugging the charger. If your bettery temp is 40+ then it will not execute rapid charge for the safety of your battery. The temp heats up pretty often on PE if the ambient temp is too high
1. Do not use phone while charging.
2. Make sure phone temperature is low as charging is slowed / stopped when it is heating up.
3. Check your cable / charging brick.
4. Check power outlet.

First I don't think anything is wrong with my device but just curious if anyone else noticed this.
1. Fully Powered off device
2. Plug in charger (little battery charging icon animates)
3. This is where it gets strange I let it get to 100% but didn't unplug it (left it plugged in all night like I usually do on all my devices) , next morning I check the charge and it showed 97%
so I assume the phone circuitry shuts off the charger after it's fully charged to prevent overheating or whatever, or the charger shuts off, strange why I got a 3% drain though with it completely off...
so far I have only tried with the official charger and cable, curious if anyone else had this issue.
besides for that the battery in this device seems good I can get about 1 day 1/2 moderate / heavy use out of it
Perhaps it's the boot animation etc?

I guess it could be if it runs in the background , it just was strange to me since my samsung tablet will always show 100% even if I leave it plugged in forever, maybe lithium-ion (samsung) and lithium-poly (xiaomi) have different charging rules like maybe you can't float charge lithium poly (just guessing)
Guys recently i just noticed my device charging slower tham usual with the stock charger as well as other qc 3 certified devices and it also dsnt show the quick charge logo in the notification drawer!!!
Iam in 9.6.25 global rom can any body confirm if its a rom issue or my specific issue

download amps app and check current rating feed to your phone, fast charge > 2500 mA, if lower, try change your charger.

After the update mine also shows 3hr's to charge and slowly charging. I brought the phone 10 days back and updated to this 9.6.25 a week and facing this problem.
Have no problem at all with Poco f1 Miui 9.6.25. Charging time is around 1hr 45 to 2 hrs if not mistaken.

Try to charge below 50% from current battery level.my stock charger rating 5V 2.5A..can get around 2.2A reading from app.
Its starts slower then it gets faster , from 10% to 100 % in under 2h , so its working properly.

Don't worry its just a software issue I just flashed the miui 10 beta Rom and now everything is fine it shows the QC logo also
Me too facing the issue. In the screenshot, charging at 18% and showing 920 mAh
Me too facing the same issue and i am on Miui 9.6.25 as well.
I just had a chance to check it, as I recently upgraded to 9.6.25. Well, no changes for me - there is QC icon next to the battery and Ampere shows current reaching 2900 mA.

You guys don't use the search function on the thread and just keep on making new threads about the same issue.
It has been well documented now that the charging slows due to thermal throttling. The hotter the phone the slower the charging. If anyone wants to test this, charge your phone for 5 mins before an air conditioner and measure the charging speed using the app called 'Amps'.
You should see the charging speed at around 2700-2800mah provided your phone temperature is quite low.
Otherwise, take a chilled watter bottle from your fridge and pour it generously on a towel. Now place your phone on that towel and charge you phone. As soon as the temperature starts falling to around 32-34 degree celsius, the charging speed will increase.
This is built in safety feature. The charging slows when the battery temperature is around 36-37 degree celsius as per my observations.
Cool you battery to around 30 degrees using any method you can and then check the charging speed.
Not your charger, not your cable...its mostly the charging algorithm with built in thermal thresholds which is at play here.
DO TELL ME YOUR TEST RESULTS.
I just found this thread - I have similar problem but it's rather not connected with temperature.
After one of software updates I discovered that quick charge is not working. Maybe it wasn't connected with update but this is how I see this.
I was waiting for software updates and hoping that they will fix my problem but nothing was changing.
Recently I decided that maybe factory reset will help, but unfortunately no.
After this reset I was checking many chargers and it appeared that with laptop charger (with USB C output) quick charge works! I was checking parameters in application 'ampere' and there is information that this charger is AC, and rest is USB. So it looks like QC works but....
Please help, how can I make quick charge works again via standard quick charge charger.

Iam in 11.0.5.0 global rom can any body confirm if its a rom issue or my specific issue
I want to clarify that my Poco on fully stock 11.05 charges as fast as any previous version of MIUI.
I take care of my battery. Charge till 80 and never let or go below 20.
If you can maintain the variables, and it still charges slow then you have issues with battery IC or the battery itself.
The highest I got without ceiling fan and without ac is 1590 mA. Maybe I got higher other times but I installed the app just for this post.
Don't rely on software reporting.
Do you have a multimeter?
Ambient temperature plays a HUGE role when it comes to battery, even if it's 1 degree more or less.
Hi guys!
My Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x has gotten some real issues charging. It at times charges fine, but sometimes it just stops charging at some random percentage and can stay for a very long time before increasing at all. At times it even decreases when plugged in. These problems occur regardless of which charger plugs and cables are at use.
LED light is always on when plugging in, I have also tried downloading the Amp Meter app and it always shows currents similar to other phones when charging. Also I have tried slightly bending the cable at different angles on the phone side to see if that would make it lose charge but no, it always shows roughly the same current. Even when the phone turned off battery percentage is sometimes decreasing when plugged in and the LED showing charging.
I have tried factory reset and even flashed MIUI fastboot ROM. I've tried calibrating the battery by charging it full and draining the battery according to instructions readily avaliable online. I have replaced the battery but the new one acts just the same as the old one.
After all this has been tried, what can possibly be causing this? Any ideas what could be going on here? Is there any piece of software that could be misbehaving even after a fastboot flash?

Do you have more than one or two social media apps installed on your device?
Social media apps and Google Play Services cause the most battery drain.
They are known to cause a device to drain even while charging.

Even when the phone is off I'm having trouble charging. Sometimes when I plug it in, charging light is on, battery percentage starts increasing for a while, only to later starting to decrease.
Hi everybody, if anyone is facing charging issues ,here is a few things I tried so you dont have to:
1. Flashed both force charge 2600mAh and 3300mAh magisk modules
2.Flashed another force charge module
3.Used D8G thermals and fast charge
4.Used many different kernels,
5.Re-calibrated the battery
but all in vain, the charging issue persisted, sometimes I had a ramped up charging, around 2700mAh,but one reboot and it would go to negative(yes acutally losing charge while plugging in).
So I noticed something, the battery temperature going above 40c caused the charging to decrease, if one could decrease the battery temperature and turn the screen off,the charging wont be rapid but still would charge(i mean it wont lose charge on plugging), but playing games while charging , I went upto 90% charge and started losing charge again(what a pain). So I tried changing thermal-engine.conf file located in vendor/etc folder to see if I could change the threshold of the temperatures, but still failed,
So I've actually reverted back to the stock ROM for now and I'm looking around the thermal threshold in stock ROM for now.
Hope I'll find something and would share it with you guys soon.
P.S If anyone has a solution please share

Hey Guys,
Anyone else experience slow to almost non existent charging speed if the phone has been on for a few hours?
The only way it goes back to charging fast is if I restart the phone while its plugged into a charger.
I have tried using the stock charger and aftermarket ones and different cables as well. Makes no difference until restart.
Chime in if anyone has any idea whats happening and/or how to fix it.
PS: I am unlocked and rooted if that matters.
Is the screen off? Having the screen on during charging will skew the charge cycle.
Does it charge normally when shutdown?
Possible battery, charging port, or mobo failure.
Check phone for any signs of battery swelling.
Same issue here. Got the phone today, charges sloooow by USC-C as well as QI... Although it shows "fast charging" in settings. I will check, if it's better after a reboot.

Doesnt matter if the screen is on or off, I even left overnight and gained like 8% charge.
Battery seems to hold a charge fine, there is no swelling and discharge behavior is normal. Used to charge normally a few days ago.

SOT has it diminished significantly?
Charging at a start temperature above 72°F?
If so it sounds like a charge port or mobo failure... sorry.
Try clearing the system cache and a hard reboot.
Try toggling fast charging on/off 3 times.

Ill have to check the temp next time I am at room temp. I was playing some COD so I was over 80F when I started charging just now. Did not have to restart so maybe its good.

Make sure the port is clean and free of debris.
Inspect and carefully clean* if needed with a toothbrush and a small amount of anhydrous isopropyl alcohol.
Lol, RO water if needed than the alcohol.
Allow to dry completely.
*I live in a dusty environment and even after 2 years never had to clean my C port. However my bdu cargo pants pockets are lint free, not all pants pockets are. In general these ports seem to stay clean but you know how that goes...
Same here. Did someone find a solution?
In my case it just normalized itself after a few days of usage... strange thing was, that the slow charging affected both, usb and qi charging.
Glad you fixed.
Btw maybe intelligent charging. If phone can't detect a time where you don't use it it have problem adapting charging speed. If you change everyday the moment you put it on charge better deactivate that option
If I may continue this thread, I have another question about the charging. Is it possible to disable fast charging?
I only charge at night so I don't need my phone to warm up from quick charge. On my old Samsung Galaxy Note 9 I could do it, but now I can't find the setting.
Thanks.

The only harmful part of the charge cycle on this phone is the top-off, and you can adjust that. You could use a 5W charger but I doubt it would extend the life.
More beneficial is checking other threads for features that may drain (add wear to) the battery.

Simply use a 12 watt or less brick.
Fast charging needs a compatible 25w brick and cable (Samsung). In most phones it has to be enabled. Disabling fast charging is easy... enabling it sometimes is not

The whole point of having a feature is to use it when needed. If I am in a hurry I want to activate 30W charging with a single toggle in the settings. I don't have to bring two different power bricks, one 5W, one 30W, and manually switch between them.

you should get a new phone it's the only way to fix it because it's broken and you can't fix it when it's like that.
