Charging issue with custom kernels and roms on POCO F1 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi everybody, if anyone is facing charging issues ,here is a few things I tried so you dont have to:
1. Flashed both force charge 2600mAh and 3300mAh magisk modules
2.Flashed another force charge module
3.Used D8G thermals and fast charge
4.Used many different kernels,
5.Re-calibrated the battery
but all in vain, the charging issue persisted, sometimes I had a ramped up charging, around 2700mAh,but one reboot and it would go to negative(yes acutally losing charge while plugging in).
So I noticed something, the battery temperature going above 40c caused the charging to decrease, if one could decrease the battery temperature and turn the screen off,the charging wont be rapid but still would charge(i mean it wont lose charge on plugging), but playing games while charging , I went upto 90% charge and started losing charge again(what a pain). So I tried changing thermal-engine.conf file located in vendor/etc folder to see if I could change the threshold of the temperatures, but still failed,
So I've actually reverted back to the stock ROM for now and I'm looking around the thermal threshold in stock ROM for now.
Hope I'll find something and would share it with you guys soon.
P.S If anyone has a solution please share

No its not an issue it is obvious that if u run heavy games, battery consumption will be more and temp will automatically increase.
This is happening to me also, and it's not just a heavy load issue. I don't have this problem with stock rom. I also use FreeX10 beta4. I monitored cpu usage and there didn't seem anything unusual, however monitoring the mv of the battery is noticed it will sometimes be around 4153mv while othertimes 31200mv not sure what's causing the higher mv's though

Check the AC charge Current in ur kernel settings maybe uve accidently set it below default. Ideally it has to be 1100 but 1300 works without any issues for me.
Charging speed will also vary upon Output current of ur charger. Stock sIII charger outputs 1A Which should charge your phone in approx 3hrs. Time will reduce considerably if u purchase a 2A charger.
A bad Battery or Corrupt Charger can also be the issue. So try to experiment with different chargers. also check if Battery is swollen( Happend In My case)
lastly Miscalibrated Battery will also show u improper readings so try to callibrate it with battery calibrator
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
Mostly it has to be Amongst Kernel Settings or FAULTY charger
Stock standard charge time multiple answers about 3 hours .
use usb cable from Nokia phone:good:

Automatically Switching off when reaching 40%

My moto e is automatically switching off when the battery percentage reaches around 40%. I want to know what the problem is and anyone facing this type of issue and what i have to do in order to overcome this issue? This issue is killing me as it is giving the trouble every time when i am at office. I am currently on cm 13.0 and i have faced this issue when on lineage os also. Most probably i think its the phone's issue and want help from u guys..Hope someone will help
Thanks in advance.
your phones' charge holding capacity has reduced to 60%. if you notice, your phone must be getting fully charged a lot quickly now. get a new battery .

Ya the charging goes from 0 to 100 within 30 min of time. i thought it was quickly charging due to my brothers fast charger which i am using to charge the phone  . is there any tweak or any method that i can do to change those parameters or should i have to change the battery definitely?

You can't fix it by some tweaks or mods, just change the battery

Phone charging Extremely slowly... How to diagnose ?

here's what happend
I have flashed Unofficial RR rom . It was charging regularly.
Then i flashed renice kernel.
Sometimes Phone was charging relatively slowly but then it fixes by itself .
Until recently it was occurring more and more.
NOW it charges verrrrry slowly 7 8 hours and not reaching 100%, still at 60%!!
So i decided to flash Ultimate kernel to see if anything happends..
no luck
Battery health is showing good
I think somehow the kernal changed the charging voltage (iS it possible though). or It may be that battery needs to be replaced..
How do i diagnose what the problem is ??
p.s. I have tried calibrating battery multiple times both by app and manually. Also tried multiple chargers and charging cable. Even tried to charge via pc.

Can't calibrate the battery

I did calibrated my battery with the root method and the charge-discharge methods two times now, but still it charges from 0 to 100 in 40 minutes (which is not possible, it's not really 100%) the phone keeps charging according to accubattery and the battery tab in configuration
If I unplug right when it says 100% the batter drains hella fast (even if i dont use it)
The solution is keep the phone plugged until it says charged in rhe battery screen which takes an extra 40 minutes before reaching 100%
But how to fix this wrong information? Is driving me nuts
Probably the cable?
If I reboot the phone when it reaches 100% it drops to about 85%, and when it reaches 100% and reboot it again it drops but now to 90~ and so on for a few times
Any help would be appreciated! I'm using AOSIP btw, but this have happened in all roms
Heyyo, from what I was told for battery calibration the only proper way to do it is to run EUI ROM for about a week.
If you're inclined to try that to fix battery calibration? I'd recommend the versions by ChrisBalGreece. Debloated and already has good mods to make EUI ROM more enjoyable and less odd. :good:
After that? You can try a custom Oreo ROM again and battery should be properly calibrated.
Sometimes too with custom ROMs I've observed that the Quick Charge 3.0 isn't as accurate as it should be and can even stop charging if it thinks the battery temperature is too high... Unfortunately without updated kernel source code from LeEco it's something we cannot 100% solve so I'd recommend trying to charge with a 5V 2Amp charging block and see what happens as well.
ThE_MarD any eui 5.8 rom will work? i have flashed your 30s firmware of your lineageos thread will it work with that or i have to change firmware?
i have the original charger and cable
Well, I used to have that annoying problem, I made a research to find a solution, and something worked for me, Now my battery is perfectly calibrated. Well, I don't know if it would work for anyone else, but, you don't lose nothing trying right?
The first thing I did was install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.exkernelmanager , and Configured the "saver mode" to low frequency of processor and activated it. Then I installed this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slash.batterychargelimit and activated the limit to 95% for high level and 90% to low level of battery charging, and after a couple of times charging and discharging my battery with that method now my battery magically calibrated itself, and now I can install any Oreo ROM with no problem, of course it is not necessary to use that saver mode all the time, but works really good. I have to say that now I am using "personalized resurrection remix" and it works fast as hell with the most complete tools for personalizing the phone (the best one for me), and it has an extreme good performance for gaming, of course not the best for battery, but there you can use and configure the saver profile of the app I mentioned, and you will have the best ROM available now. (Tryed a lot of them).
Thanks for reading. (Don't forget to install magisk for root, without that, nothing will happen)
