I just bought a archos 101 g9 when it was on sale on woot last week and so far it is working pretty good, however I have an annoying problem with it.
If it has been sleeping for over a few minutes (regular sleep, not the deep sleep) and I wake it back up the touch screen goes crazy. The bottom left corner keeps detecting a touch event. It will cycle from multiple on/off touches a second to one on/off every few seconds. If I rotate the tablet to portrait, it will start scrolling the screen none stop to the left. So far the only fix is to do a reboot.
It does not happen every time, just occasionally when I wake it up from sleep.
Today i got a case for it, and whenever it is in the case, the touch screen goes crazy. Same touch events in that same area.
I am guessing something is wrong with the digitizer. Anyone else seen this problem before?
Have the same problem, and as I've read on xda and archosfans forums, this isn't an uncommon issue. We'll just have to wait for a firmware update, as rebooting seems to fix it, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

I have exactly the same problems.
@ARCHOS: PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS BUG !
Sensitive Touch
I have similar problems with the touchscreen. If I'm holding it with one hand by a corner, it detects touch. The rest of the time it is a little jittery and releases or double taps in games. It's still not a deal breaker, though.
I hope we don't have to swap digitizers to fix it.
Hi !

I'll give that a try and see if that works. I just got a case and as soon as it is in the case it is even worse.
EDIT: I installed a calibration app on xda and it really made it worse!
What app are you using to calibrate it?
I have a similar issue sometimes.
For me the fix is simply to clean the screen.
The strange thing is, it happens even when the screen doesn't appear to be especially dirty but I put the tablet to sleep, give the screen a serious clean with a microfibre cloth and the touchscreen issues vanish.
Could be a different issue to what you guys are having but the symptoms are the same and it's an easy 'fix' to try.
Hope it helps.

Thanks, I had not noticed that area in the settings before. Recalibrating it in the cover has helped a lot.
I pretty much had this since day 1......
The current state is ; it doesn't work at all then all of a sudden It will pop back into life and then pretty much go "mental" as already described, I also found it reacts poorly to minor temperature variations, i.e going from outside to inside and general day to day travelling. Recalibrating used to "help" but now has no effect.
From watching the debug logs part of me thinks it's a bit of both, hardware and software ( just a hunch ) I noticed the driver fail to get a "ping" response from the hardware a couple of times.
I've pratically given up on it myself and plugged a keyboard and mouse in via a hub on the full size usb...... The hub has now stopped working for some reason , I'm now on a OTG Keyboard with a Virtual Mouse Driver using the numeric keypad and some adb input trickery ,
I've got another touch screen/digitizer to plug in, just not got round to putting it in yet and a little part of me is starting to enjoy finding more elaborate ways of interacting with the device...
Does anyone know who the OEM of the digitizer Unit is? My previous investigation led me to china but information seems to be thin on the ground with this one

Same problem and even managed a RMA from ARCHOS. Thing is your OC edition fixed it for me.
Yesterday I got my LG G watch and everything was great, then this morning I tried to apply a screen protector, and since then my screen has been randomly turning on and stuff, it launched Google voice search by itself or swiped trough the cards by itself. I already did a factory reset, but the problem still persist. Does anyone else face this problem and is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: After turning developer options on and using the show touches option I can see my screen is pressed without I am pressing it (the entire time it's the corner at the bottom right of the screen). Is this an over sensitive screen? Or maybe it happened because I tried to apply a screen protector?

I have a spigen screen protector on (dry install) and have no issues. Was yours a dry install as well? Not sure what happens with wet installs.

Mine also was dry install, I used a screen protector tool to get the bubbles out, maybe I pushed too hard? (which is not likely, because I have applied dozens of screen protectors and never had any issues)

Unsure. I would just take off the protector.I hope it didn't cost too much. Maybe try another?
Stupid question, did you take off the factory cover prior to installing the new one? Sorry, I have to ask lol.

Haha, didn't cost too much, however, de problem persist even when screen protector is removed..
Yes I did take it off
Oke, first I thought it was due to an oversensitive touchscreen, however, now I am experiencing the problem when in direct sunlight, when getting back inside the problem keeps appearing for an hour or something and then disappears.. Is this common for some touchscreen?

Mine turns on randomly all the time, it's super annoying, but I think there might be a way to disable it.
I think it's supposed to be a feature: you move your arm around, and the screen turns on so you can read it. Neat idea, but it's waaaay too sensitive, and my screen turns on alllll the time for no reason.
However, your watch is even scrolling through pages and activating google now? Yikes. And it still scrolls/activates google now after you removed the screen protector, not just turning screen on? Unfortunately, I would probably try to exchange it But you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunate you experience the same with your watch, however, mine is not too sensitive, but the heat of the sun or bright daylight causes the touchscreen to activate and register a touch, I already informed LG of my problem, and they said they took the problem to the technical staff and will inform me in a couple of days what to do
Hi to everybody,
Two months after to buy my Z2, I made the mistake to put my phone on my legs and it fell. Result: my screen has crashed
I sent it to repair and the technical support changed my screen,
All is now working fine, less the "double tap to wake" option.
I installed the last update to know if i could fixed it, but it still no working.
Any one know if is the double tap managed by hardware? (the screen maybe?)
Thank you so much!!
Ps: Sorry for my english
This feature has never really worked relatively well for me anyway
While sometimes it works other times I find myself tapping the screen repeatedly with no effect
Not sure about your issue as if the touch screen is working then I can't see any reason why the touch shouldn't work as well as it did previously unless it's a cheap replacement not an OEM

I sent my phone to official technical support in Portugal, so in theory the screen is OEM
Thanks for answer

Might sound like a stupid question but have u enabled the double tap to wake in the settings?
Is not a stupid question, but yes, I have the option enabled

Have you tried doing a factory reset? Maybe it will help. This function is kernel related so it should work, unless the screen is not like the original one. Just saying.
No I didn't.. I only installed the last update by Flashtools

I was wondering, does the glove mode work? Does it show a purple circle when your finger is close to the screen?

I would try this as suggested and this will give you a somewhat measurement of the sensitivity of the screen

Well that means your screen should be okay. I tried tap waking my Z2 and it responded every single time, with really fast taps and slow taps, so something is definitely wrong with yours. Problem is I can`t tell what...
Well.. I hope that with Lollipop it will be solve..
Tip with this matter, you have to "knock" on the exactly the same spot both times. Then it works much better.
No way [emoji17]..
I tapped for 10 times consecutively but nothing...
Hi guys,
I have a Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon with a screen replaced recently. The problem is the screen only works after the phone is booted, if I let the screen turn off, it can't be waken up again. There's still backlight, vibration and all and I still hear sound. Which means the touch does work, only the screen doesn't display anything, just black. What can be the cause of this? Thanks everyone!
I have exactly the same problem on a Redmi Note 2. And this problem is not so rare because i found a few posts with same symptoms but i cannot find a fix. If you please find, please let me know.
Can I ask you something cause I'm a technician and I face similar problem not exactly the same. Were your screens bought with frame already glued and you face that issue? Usually such issues occur when they is no duct tape (sorry for my English) at the lcd flex cable where it folds under the frame or where the backlight circuit (I don't know the correct explanation in English I hope you understand). So I needed at my phone to replace the frame as well that's why I bought a lcd with frame (that of course was terribly glued). My issue is blacklight flickering when it wakes from sleep and if I push the edges it's ok. I have replaced a lot of note 3 LCDs without frame and I know that in all of them I had to put duct tape to make them work properly and without issues, I had only one for note 3 pro SE that was properly made. So I believe both your issues as well as mine have to do with that. If you have the broken ones, take apart the new and check side by side the flex cables and if you find exposed connections compared to the original just put duct tape.

Perhaps you might want to enlighten us as to which ROM are you using, and who is the manufacturer of the lcd display?

Hi, I'm using the Ressurection Remix ROM on Android 7.1.2, planning to update to Oreo soon with the Pixel Experience ROM. And the LCD manufacturer is Tralfagar.

Well, I don't know about Trafalgar - but if the new display is has an ebbg chipset, then you may have problems. There have been issues with ebbg displays and TWRP (when using custom ROMs - see for example https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...redmi-note-t3716706/post74815338#post74815338). Does everything work properly when you reboot to TWRP recovery? If not, then this may be the problem - and you may need to change your ROM to the latest MIUI releases.
I am facing same problem
I have redmi note5/5+, using custom rom (ion), I am facing same problem, changed lcd two time, tried with other roms, but nothing improved, did you find any solution.
i have noticed while playing that when i make very minute touches the screen doesnt even move a bit
you can try doing very minute swipes over the screen just a slight nudge
did this on my redmi note 3 and it works

Yes mate, you are true, even i got the same issue this is very well known malfunction of Poco f1, probably low quality digitizer being used in the phone.

My best guess is that it won't be solved, not at least with any software udpate. All they could do is to minimize its effect to our eyes.
