Google has got tired on waiting on the networks to do this so are working on a fix for Android itself to do it, can't imagine how

Hmm. Maybe Smart just beginning to roll out the feature. I only noticed RCS last Sunday and was able to use it. Unfortunately, I don't have any friends under Smart telecom so I can test the feature.

I have a globe sim with this M20P. Maybe i could try it! Il update you if its okay!
This feature is mobile services dependent. If you're mobile service provider doesn't offer this feature you can't use it. For me it's been available since I've got the phone in November, because my provider has this feature.

Hi! Google just started to roll out this feature just last month. Primarily in EU, im surprised to see it out here in SEA. Il post the link here!
It's been available (and working) on my L-09 UK unlocked handset (running on EE) for the last couple of weeks.
My OnePlus 7 Pro, using the same SIM, refuses to even try activating it though

This feature was available for some time now. But it depended on the manufacturer of the smartphone and carrier to work. It seems that Google made this to work without any dependencies.

Yeah Google's trying it out there. If all goes well it might roll out soon to other countries. Hopefully it'll be like iMessage.
I now have this on my Mate 20 Pro. BT Mobile UK.

Is there an issue with this on dual sim phones? I think I've seen that mentioned before?

Hello everyone,
I have received my OnePlus 2 today - it is the Chinese version of the handset with Oxygen OS 2.0 installed (with no bloatware). I thought I would post this in-case it is helpful to anyone, I can confirm the following:
4G/LTE work fine on EE
Dual SIM works fine - I can both make and receive from the two SIM cards - however I cannot see the phone number of the SIM in slot two (probably because the phone only has 1 IMEI I suspect - but this does not stop me making or receiving calls on the SIM in slot two)
I will continue testing things but so far so good, very happy.
EE is great for FDD-LTE phones from China. I've had loads work fine, including my old Chinese OnePlus One.
Interesting re. dual SIMs working - good news for importers. Out of interest, do you have two IMEIs on the inside back (my International variant does)?

I have just checked and I only have one IMEI listed on the inside back - the writing around the label is also in Chinese which is to be expected I guess.

Yep, makes sense.

I'm using three UK with a Chinese version OPT. LTE works however when signal falls down to 3G, the possibility is that it will not revert to 4G unless you reboot. very annoying. probably a baseband issue
I also have a chinese one from merimobile but mine came preloaded with a whole load of malware. An Oxygen rom of some kind with the usual chinese 3 "browser" icons and lots of "your phone is running slowly" notifications....
I flashed the Oxygen rom that is easy to find, gives Oxygen 2.0.0 and no malware that I can find, but it does have actionbar issues - both K9-mail and Up crash on startup with logcat lines similar to this :
AndroidRuntime( 1843): Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'void android.app.ActionBar.setDisplayShowCustomEnabled(boolean)' on a null object reference

I had similar problems. If you have enabled Dark mode under Customization then try turning it off. That fixed a lot of issues for me.

That's an issue for most of 1+2 I think. A fix in on the way, and you know how fast OnePlus is on giving updates (sarcastic)

Thanks
But in case of Aliexpress try to find the seller with strong reputation and some fast delievery (like DHL or EMS) or you can wait for ages (many of them do not have the phone on hand and can tell you long stories why you should wait). And before payment contact the seller and ask the question about avaliabilty and when he can sent the phone to you.

How long did it take to arrive? Tempting!!
I guess they are just importing them in bulk from China? Still loving it?
It took a week to arrive via DPD - it came with a converter plug, screen protector and case for free too. I really do love the handset, it has worked out quite well for me having confirmed dual SIM functionality does work and I get LTE on EE.

Excellent! That's not too bad at all then. I'm on Three and need to check their LTE frequencies, to see whether I can get it. That could be a deal breaker for a chinese version for me. I love my LTE.

You should be fine with Three, if you get either the EU/Asia variant or the Chinese. The EU/Asia variant would be better as it can access both bands that Three use for 4G are 3 (1800Mhz) and 20 (800Mhz).

Will you be so kind to check this with *#06# call-button too?
For the label and listing doesn't have to be always right! The call thing is just to be sure ... Works on almost every mobile phone with a few exceptions.
How much shipping did they charge?
As above, is there anyway to download the above firmware other than funkyHuawei? I dont think its right i should have to pay $35 for 5 credits when Huawei should release the OTA update to fix several problems with there device, especially a phone that doesn't work over WiFi!
I guess you could email Huawei, or your operator. It doesn't exist outside of FH, not sure how he got his hand on it.
Or you could rebrand to C432 or C636.
No way to do this unfortunately. You could contact Huawei but they will ask for your IMEI, then tell you the update is being rolled out.
Luckily I don't have the WiFi problem, but a few other smaller problems which could do with an update.
Maybe the phone doesn't like certain routers. Not sure.
I emailed Huawei last week but doubt anything good will come out of it. So is the firmware over at FH unofficial?

A select few have said they got it as an OTA so I don't think so, unless they used FH
I talked to Huawei live chat and they confirmed that this update is rolling out to UK users, just a waiting game.
I'd use funkyhuawei if it was a one time purchase but having to buy 'credits' every time I want to flash an update just doesn't justify value to me.
Guess I'll wait for the OTA

Exactly, why should we pay for a official ota update !!!! What is really bugging me is the fact im having to use my data plan as the WiFi doesn't work. If i dont get a ota very soon im going to return my handset as i dont get long to return anyway.

Let me know how you get on, im still waiting on an email reply as the chat was down. I bought mine sim free from amazon so i dont see why im waiting for a OTA unless its because i stuck a Vodafone sim card in it?
Hi, I got the BLA-L09 8.0.0.124 update about a fortnight ago (bought unlocked from CPW in Nov.) and did receive the update OTA..... did NOT buy anything from FH. So, can confirm it is a UK OTA update, so, should roll-out eventually...bit of a pain though for anybody playing the IMEI waiting game...
When checking for ota, sometimes you have to click the 3 dots in the upper right and click install full package.
Another thing sometimes i was getting ota update on Huawei's phones after a factory reset directly,i would do it from the stock recovery, but don't feel bad if this doesn't work for you, it's up to you if you can't wait and want to try.

Think I am going to send it back. Apart from having a bit better battery and brighter screen than my U11+, the software is a mess and the audio via every dongle is worse.
Don't think the sim card you used has anything to do with it really. Just IMEI lottery which is stupid tbh lol
What is in this update? In the Change Log it says, "No information". Google search doesn't return much except a reddit thread where someone said, "I purchased a sim free mate 10 pro from CPW which was running 115 (c782) flashed this fine but since I always get an EE app even after a factory reset, help?" I too bought Sim Free from Carphone Warehouse and am worried I'll get EE spam on my phone (I'm an EE subscriber), so need to know if it is worth updating.

If you pay the money and update via FunkyHuawei you will likely get some EE branding. If you wait for the official OTA update, it will stay with the carrier branding you have at the moment.
It appears that FunkyHuawei has managed to get hold of the EE version of the latest firmware.

I spoke with Huawei regarding the bugs I have with this phone on firmware 115 and the update to fix them.
They took my imei . They told me there was an update that is approved for ota waiting for me.
I told them both ota and hi suite say there is no update for my phone.
They then tell me the update is automated and rolled out in batches and I must then wait for the update notification....

Hi!
What do you think, how come they only update japanese market J9110?!
Japanese: 55.2.A.4.191, now they got 55.2.A.4.268A
Every other: 55.2.A.4.154
Why's that?!
I guess the Japanese version was released a month or two late.
Actually, there has been a new update 6 hours ago!
Probably these are the patches?
Just installed on mine SEA Region.
Updates only seem to be for dual sim users. Hopefully something comes along for single sim users.

When you say return to Sony, do you mean the retailer i bought it off or Sony direct ? I bought through Kogan.com.au
Also if returning to "sony", will they disable the block for VoLTE?

Ah ok.
I think i'll keep it since since i can still make calls on 3G and Vodafone AU has no foreseeable plans to shutdown 3G.
I can always hope someone figures a way to get VoLTE working like they did for X1 ii

too many problems, better to give it back to Sony and wait untill it will be fixed
If a simple flashing fixes the issue then it's well worth it
Any hopes of getting this working? Currently everything except wifi calling works, including VoLTE. There actually is no option for VoWIFI at all.
I've been trying to find the answer too. On older devices you could force it by dialing *#800# but it's not an option anymore.
Even trying to load the logkit and engineering mode apk's. fails. Says it conflicts with an existing app. I've been in contact with AT&T tech support and been told "rest assured, it will work" after her applying some settings and what not. I'll update if it miraculously fixes it.
I'm assuming you guys aren't on the US 10T that gets released this Thursday Sept. 29. which is why you guys are having some problems with the AT&T network.

It looks like you have the correct version for the US release. The Intertional Dual Sim version doesn't have access to the right bands for US. Nice to know since I'm getting the same version when it releases this Thursday.
