Possible hardware failure? - Sony Xperia X Compact Guides, News, & Discussion

My X compact started having software issues and randomly disconnecting from wifi. It is now restarting itself about 30 seconds after booting to the lock screen (I can unlock it, but go no further). I tried reflashing the rom w/flashtool, but that did not change anything. Do I have other options or is it done? Update: reflashed using the wipe userdata option (essentially the factory reset I couldn't do from settings on the phone). Back to new phone setup, but it works.

[Q] gt-i9100g freezing during boot or a few seconds later

About 3-4 months ago I flashed stock ICS into my Galaxy S2 (I did not wipe the cache, which I discover today was a mistake). I noticed a few weeks later that it was a bit unstable, crashing, restarting, etc. I did not care much and just kept using it.
Today it just would not boot, so after 1 hour trying, I managed to keep it alive (using safe mode) long enough to go to setting and have a factory reset.
Then it would not boot again.
From there, I tried several times the factory reset and wipe cache (using volume up + home + power menu). It would sometimes hang on the "installing applications" until several restarts it would eventually go. Then it would hang randomly on startup "s" video, until I managed to get to the welcome screen - which freezes pretty much on the first or second screen (choosing language and date/time).
I flashed I9100GXXLPY_I9100GDBTLP3_DBT and got the same result.
The phone is not rooted, there is no clockwork and I can't even access the phone to put it into debug mode.
Anyone has any more idea of what can be done besides throwing it on the trash? :/

[Q] infinite bootloop

Sorry if I broke any rules, first thread in XDA.
Have an old Z Ultra that was having sim slot issue, It was belong to my bro who recently upgraded to another phone. I factory reset it to wipe any user data or bugs that may cause by 3rd party softwares. immediately after reset, it went to bootloop, it will either stuck just before fully loaded into Android system or just after it. I can't seems to boot to recovery or bootloader to check anything, when pressing the down button with usb cable inserted, the green led blink for a split second then nothing. flash mode with blue LED is fine, I can flash ftf. I tried with PCC repair, the process completed, updated to latest 5.0.2 but again, bootloop, updating Android took dozens of reboot/bootloop to complete. the first time I tried, it managed to boot normally and I could do some setup but when I tried to shutdown, it took forever, so I do power + vol up to force shutdown...the bootloop came back and never boot normally again. I had tried using flashtools with a few different tft, the same thing, bootloop. this is one of the ftf : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798690
I had read a few threads in Z ultra section, many suggest to flash a ftf or PCC repair, most managed to solved with the aforementioned but not me. I didn't root or unlock the bootloader before, never tried any tweak to the system or any thing that might cause system corruption, ONLY factory reset. is this some hardware issue? but why only after factory reset? had tried several ftf, still the same bootloop. unless the issue is cause by recovery or any other hidden partitions/system that the ftf I tried didn't flash? battery is >80%. no sim I still can use it as display but bootloop, this is as useless as junk.
Anyone can offer a way to fix this?
TIA

[Q] Factory reset from settings --> boot loop

My daughter's i9300 started resetting itself without control. Today it got unmanageable and a successful boot became impossible.
Looking around, I found a thread suggesting that the power button switch is the culprit.
Indeed, after removing the switch, everything worked fine. Had major issues starting the phone, but eventually it started, so I was good to go.
I rooted it, installed latest TWRP and Resurrection ROM. The ROM was a random pick more or less, I had it on my LG G3 at some point and I wanted lollipop.
All fine and dandy, I was able to get into the phone. However, data wasn't wiped even though I selected it for wiping in recovery (probably didn't select the right thing...). So I went to settings and chose factory reset with wiping all data.
This lead to phone rebooting to recovery, but TWRP logo just flashes every few seconds without ever getting to recovery itself.
How can I make this phone work again? Any ideas?
Boot into download mode then flash a full stock rom with Odin. If that works then factory reset in recovery before testing.
You may find the firmware won't flash, as it sounds like your nand memory is worn.

Problem after factory reset

Hi,
i'll try to explain the problem.
I use the Galaxy s6 SM-G925T and wanted to reset to factory defaults. The phone is in original state. So no custom rom, not rooted or any other modifications. The Battery has been replaced because the old battery had to be charged every 4 hours. Because the new battery does not lives much longer (maybe 6 hours) i wanted the factory reset.
First using the volume-up home and power button, i've choosen wipe cache / factory reset
Down the bottom of the screen was a text : No Support SINGLE-SKU - Supported API: 3 - dm-verify error
I continued and wiped the data
The system returned "Data wipe complete"
After the phone rebooted the system restarted, only to show the blinking SAMSUNG text.
I left the phone blinking for about 1 hour, nothing happened.
So i loaded the official systemfile : CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f.tar
using Odin3_v3.14.1 i was able to flash it onto the phone.
After rebooting now the red android puppet showed up and the cf-auto-root program fnished without errors but the phone still wont start
Is the phone bricked or is it still possible to restore factory defaults and get the phone back to work ?
Thanx for all the helpfull answers !!

Question Pixel 6 Randomly rebooting after Android 13 update

My wifes Pixel 6 was recently updated to Android 13. From what I can gather the update was not sucessful - The process got stuck on the 'G' screen with the scrolling bar undernath for several hours before my wife gave up and forced the phone to reboot. She has since managed to perform a factory reset from recovery mode but the phone constantly reboots during the android setup screens. I'm now in posession of her phone to try and fix the issue mysef, however recovery and rescue modes both display the 'no command' screen.
I have tried to reflash a stock rom using ADB but this does not work as 'OEM unlocking' is not enabled, nor can it be enabled as the OS refuses to load all the way before a random reboot occurs.
I'm really hoping someone can tell me how to get around the device lock so I can flash this thing!
Thanks
Whether it can enter REC?

You can try sideloading the full OTA. That doesn't require an unlocked bootloader.
