Hello
Does anyone know any application or way of discovering if data cuts (3g / 4g) occur in a connection? I want to know if I have a problem with my ISP, although using the mobile as a tethering to navigate is more or less good, when I connect by VPN to work using the mobile data connection disconnections occur continuously (I have tried with the same sim in other mobile and it happens the same) if I use wifi this problem does not occur
Does anyone know any way to see if there are cuts to talk to my ISP?
thanks

Hi,
i don't know if this is the correct board but I am searching for something like a WiFi Manager.
My Problem: Usually, I am using only my home network via Wifi and if I am on the road, i am using my mobile data plan. At my university there are some rooms, where i cant receive any mobile data connection. The only possibility to connect to the internet is via WPA2 WiFi but if I enter the settings for this network it also connects to this network any time I am in range of it (so when i am traveling through the city, it allways switches on an off and I dont get a stable connection.
Entering and deleting the university wifi anytime is a bit ugly so I am searching for a possibility, how I could enter my university-WLAN-Information but enable this network only, when I need it.
Thanks in advance,
Cmoe
try market from your phone or market.android.com and search for wifi manager ... it is app I use, but there is lot more apps ...
I have been searching for this particular problem but I didn't find anywhere and seeking a solution here which I think is the most suitable place.
I want to tether Wi-Fi data and not the cellular data. Reason is that one can use Wi-Fi data freely from many other sources and like to use that in our laptop instead of the expensive cellular data.
I have figured out two methods, but that have their own limitations.
(i) One can use USB tether (easytether apps) to use wi-fi data. In this method the positive thing is that one can tether either of the data i.e. wi-fi data and cellular data. But the thing is that we need a cable always, once we use wifi hotspot then we only can use cellular data. In this method the disadnantage is we always need a cable and sometime it frequently gets disconnected.
(ii) Second method is using bluetooth one can tether the Wifi data. For example using Foxfi apps one can use Wi-fi data by activating Bluetooth DUN ( and there could be many more apps like Foxfi). But the disadvantage is internet is very slow even when the wifi data is high speed.
One obvious question is if I need wifi data then why do I need to tether through the phone. But there are situation when I can't connect the wifi directly due to some reason. Secondly, suppose the main wifi has got some proxy authentication but in my phone I could connect the same wifi but without the proxy authentication and if some how I tether that to laptop then I can connect internet directly without any proxy.
So I curious to know is there any way to tether the Wifi data (not the cellular data) using hotspot or any other way.
Ever since I received my OPX I had little problems with my data, independently of using Wi-Fi or mobile internet (2g/3g).
It started with the fact that in the installation of the phone it couldn't connect to verify it's connection, although wifi was connected correctly.
I started it without the connection it wanted and factory resetted it and then I got the same problem, but after a few minutes it worked correctly and I could install my phone without any problems.
Now when I work with my phone (Whatsapp, 9gag, webrowsing, video streaming) it sometimes stops with loading, like it has lost its connection, but both Wi-Fi and mobile internet are connected.
This is very frustrating when watching video, since it just won't buffer anymore and I have to wait for like 1 minute before it continues and reloading the page helps most of the times, because I then force to get data.
Sometimes when WhatsApp isn't loading/ keeping it's connection I just start a SpeedTest to ensure it has an open connection. This works most of the times.
Also WhatsApp Web keeps losing its connection while the screen is on.
I hope you guys have some ideas on this subject.
I have a similar issue. In my case the device seems to have problems with certain WiFi-Networks (at university to be precise). The connection with the WiFi is still there, but there's no actual connection to the internet sometimes. That's why your mobile data doesn't activate - there are no connection issues on mobile data for me.
The cause for this is probably the lack of a 5GHz WiFi antenna. I don't know why, but my OPX cannot handle the 2.4GHz WiFi at university (at home it works fine!).
So to test this out, you should try different WiFi-Networks. If the network is 2.4GHz only, it should be working.
The WiFi thing while setting up the phone is a known OxygenOS bug and can be worked around.
Hello all,
I have a really annoying problem, I had no problems with my phone on 5.1.1. but after updating to 6.0.2. opening webpages or sending images in IM's (Whatsapp , FB messenger) is too slow, more then 30seconds to upload a photo. It works perfectly on mobile network, only having problems with WiFi. Tried different WiFi hotspots, tried deleting WiFi network and connecting again, even did complete phone wipe.
Any suggestions or ideas how to fix this?
You might have had wifi and mobile sharing data(if wifi is slow or no Internet connection, mobile data would take on some of the stuff you're trying to load.) on previous android and that's what's given you the boost previously. Check your ISP has throttled your connection (over usage data). Make sure it's just your device using the Internet for the time being, cross check IP with phone and also check your DNS on your router. Your ISP could be experiencing technical difficulties also. Also cross check any other variable that may make your connection slow (I.E bad weather, steam downloads and anything related to your modem before we get to your phone
Mobile data sharing is off. Boost is also off. I said I tried multiple WiFi hotspots and it is still the same, and this started happened immediately after the update so I am 100% sure it is not my router or ISP (I have no problems with connection speed on my PC). Also I did ruled out everything before posting, so this is definitely something that update broke.
Hi
I'm experiencing some difficulties with mobile hotspot.
I connect to P30 Pro's wifi hotspot with my laptop and try to download something. the process of downloading is laggy. downloading stops every few seconds and then continues on.
it happens in playing online games too. I get disconnected every few seconds.
Is anyone having this issue with their device?

This could be your carrier rather than the phone.
Carriers can restrict or disable the use of the hotspot. Just check that your contract allows for personal hotspot connections.
Other than that, make sure your phone is connecting using 4G (for the mobile network) and not 3G. If it connects using 3G you need to find another location.
Go to settings\wireless & networks\personal hotspot\more\AP band
Change it to 2.5 Ghz or 5Ghz
This should do it.
Fine here, I use it regularly.
