So apparently all S10 shipped with Snapdragon processor has an FM chip built in and it works when using NextRadio app. I have the Canadian Unlocked S10 model and I'm trying to install the official Samsung Radio app from APK mirror (https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=samsung+radio#undefined). It just won't install on my device. Anyone know the reason? Or better yet, can anyone make it work?

It's not you, I don't think it will work on any S10's. I can't tell you exactly why but I suspect it's for older phones.

The Chinese variant S10 comes preloaded with the Samsung Radio App, so I don't see why this can't work on our devices here.

Hoping someone can come up with a solution. I prefer stock apps over 3rd party especially with NextRadio since it supports ads on the screen.
Fix
I found this on Google
https://m.wikihow.com/Activate-an-FM-Chip-on-Android
Just download this free app from the play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nextradioapp.nextradio
Worked on my S10
(You'll have to copy and paste the links, I cant post them yet)

Not working with Android 10
i believe that the samsung fm radio app only works on the U or U1 firmware for US users. i know i had that problem with the Galaxy S7, S8 and S9. worked when i flashed the firmware, but lost it when i jumped because it wouldn't install to the next device from Samsung backup, and smart switch

I'm trying to install the stock fm radio app on my U1 S9. Doesn't work.

Well, fun. NextRadio doesn't work for me on my S10. It gives me a network error and doesn't go any further. Scratch that, it still gives a network error if you have any sort of data connection on. It will work after jumping through a bunch of hoops:
Start it with Airplane Mode on (need to force close if you started it before turning Airplane Mode on)
It will also insist on searching for local stations via location (either GPS or postal code), after you let it fail it will finally give you access to the FM tuner
It will then not work until you turn off Airplane Mode (FM radio power is probably turned off by OS )
After all this it will let you use it normally, without messing with Airplane Mode or location info. Still fails looking up local stations via internet. What a piece of junk.
I dug into Play Store reviews to find this procedure.

Thanks for posting this. It worked on my Galaxy s10, and really loved having over-the-air fm radio available on my phone. Earphones must be plugged in as the radio uses the earphone cable as an antenna.
However, after samsung's recent U3 update, the fm radio app won't work anymore. I tried reinstalling it with App Cloner but unfortunately that doesn't work either.
Is there another way to make this small change to the stock fm radio app name?
Really miss having an fm radio on my phone and would love to get it back!
Dear @grootnova, THANK YOU!
I finally could get my loved FM radio back on my Galaxy A50!
BTW, an Italian law prohibites smart device vendors from SELLING non-DAB Radio equipped after January 1, 2021.
They took it very seriously, in Samsung, and in december 2020 they issued an "update" that removed the Radio app from ALL the smartphones, even those already sold before 2021 (I bought my A50 in June 2019).
Multiple models were affected (Galaxy A50, A30 and several others), you can imagine how much the customers were happy...
Thanks again,
Max - Italy
I'm seeing this behaviour too. But I noticed that if turn off the radio, change the station and then turn on the radio again, it works. More a workaround than a solution, but at least it's working somehow.
Seen this on Radio app version 12.0.00.34.

Hi all,
I bought my S2 a week ago. First I fel sad for sending back my Sensation (yes, signal issues ), but then using S2, its sexy looking design performance and speed impressed me. Great Device!
But I have problem about samsung account. I've never used Samsung devices before, not needed for Samsung account. I want to sign up from my device, everytime shows me same issues - Processing failed.
I also can't add e-mail (Hotmail, Gmail)acoounts and IM (Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo) accounts to Social Hub.
BTW, I tried to sign-up/add accounts on stock ROM, yesterday updated to XXKG6 - 2.3.4, but result is still same, can't add account...
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ABOUT IT?
Thanks...

Same problem with me in the start... Though I solved it by changing the country to UK in gmail account...
Find out what country ROM you have, and then download and activate Market-enabler of the same same Country your ROM is. You should be fine after that!
Please if anybody has this could you send it to me, i can't find it any where.
It is the app for controlling the Samsung d7000/8000 smart range of tv's i have used it on the demo gt7510 in the store where i bought mine but its not in my apps.
Thanks and here's hoping.

The version for the tab does not even let me download it, I have tried the remote but it looks wrong and I want the video streaming function as this is one of the main reasons for buying it.
The Smart View-app isn't ready for the tabs yet.
Samsung issued a statement, when they first launched SmartView for the SGSII, that 8.9 and 10.1 tablets will be able to download the app in the late summer.. So just be patience (like me! )
I tried a downloadable .apk version on my 10.1 in combination with the d8000...
The remote function works, but when trying to switch to watch tv it crashes.
Then i found a ported version, which should work on more android devices.
That compatibility i can't check, but still the same crash on the 10.1...
i thought Samsung said they would put it on the 10.1 and 9.8 by default...
One of the main reasons, for bying it...

Have you even bothered to read my post right before yours?
Samsung never said it would be on the tab from the get-go.. They promised to release it "after the summer".. And seeing how vague that statement is (doesn't even tell if they mean summer in Miami, Stockholm, Capetown or Sidney), it's pretty safe to say that they're still in keeping with their promise..
any news about samsung second TV?

I wrote with a Samsung-dude last week, and all he could say is that they're still planning for at september/early october-release

Hi,
I want to try the Smart View-Tab version on my Galaxy Note because the non-Tab version has low resolution.
Can any Tab owner share the new version of the Smart View-Tab app here ?
the apk please...
Also we have a discussion about this on the Note section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420918&page=2
I'd appreciate if anyone could share this app from their Tab 10...
Smart view Tab:
http://www.multiupload.com/D33D9HAF2Z
thank you.
but I get a package corrupt error.
can you check if it's not corrupted while uploading ?
package corrupt
Downloaded and installed here without any problems...
I've got a Samsung 5700 .. doesn't work though (even though I can activate network remote in my TV menu...) Anyone any ideas? What does my TV mean by Network Remote then?!
any news ?
can anyone else upload the Tab app from their Tab 10 ?
Did you try in the market? Both Samsung remote apps (tablet/non tablet version) show there?
"Samsung" as the query?
They don't list the "Tab" version to the Galaxy Note.
Don't know if this is what you are looking for, I use it to control my 7000 series Samsung LED on my Tab 10.1. For some reason I don't get the dual view as an option but I have read others are having the same issue. Works fine for me, full screen, as the other one is really small when it loads.

I see the Ultra is not supported for this App. Disappointing considering we still can't download with Iplayer.......
Devices which can use Anywhere app
Sony Xperia L (C2105)
Sony Xperia SP (C5302/03/06)
Sony Xperia Z (C6602/03)
Sony Xperia Z1 (C6902/03/06/43)
Sony Xperia U (ST25)
It's Virgin's responsibility to update their app. Send them a mail and ask if they can update it.
The Ultra is missed by a lot of developers. I've had a good response rate from developers and they have all said that they acknowledge the issue and will get an update done.

They have only just added any Android support - took them ages. Use the "Contact Us" form on their website to request it to be added, that's what I've done.
If you are rooted there uses a module for xposed called play store fixes which tricks it into thinking the dpi of the phone is different.

I don't believe it's a DPI issue, it's model.

Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media about the availability of the
Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere.
We understand your concern.
Right now, we're sorry but it doesn't look like we've got any plans to

the providers to bring our customers even more choice on Virgin TV, so
keep your eyes peeled! And check out www.virginmedia.com for the latest

I don't see why there's a problem, there are many android devices with the same screen resolution and processor.
I would try one of the market helper apps, or xposed, to make Google Play think you're on a recognised device. I had to do this with previous phone, Note 2, to load the tesco clubcard TV app.

Doesn't the phone have to be rooted to use xposed? If so, then the app won't work anyway on rooted devices according to the comments in the store
A late reply but I have a One X which is also not supported. I used Device Spoofer to make my device appear as the HTC One. I was able to download and install the app from the market. In addition the app's record, remote control and program manager functions work perfectly however the ability to watch programs on the phone is blocked by a root checker.

You can only install the app on an approved device though (officially). The TVguide app has record functions but it doesn't have have network remote features.
Why do they do a root check? You can use the software on any PC, with whatever hacks you want installed, but there's some obsession with root on Android...
theres a new app i use that isn't compatible on my device.. when i dl the apk it installs and it worked. today an update came out and when the app accessed the play store it said it isn't available on my country which is BS because it's only available to my country (Israel) but not my service (N5)

If you are rooted, then some other options are on the table including editing your build.prop or possibly via Xposed : http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.mods.playstorefix (I know it says for DPI issues, but have seen it useful for other issues like this as well).

In regards to your first point; You can view the frequencies that are being used by the phone online (I usually use GSM arena or just a google search) and then compare them with your countries bands (also a quick google away). I am Australian and searched on my carriers website and they had a map showing where their coverage was in terms of each band. So I was able to work out that getting the phone would be fine for me for my daily life but when I leave that and go on a day trip or something I can sometimes get 1 bars in some places. (This is regarding my last phone by the way (mate 8))

hmm, strangely I can't find the chinese version there.. it does have the chinese mate x 20 though
basically there is no limitation of software , including all the services of Google, Only thing that can not work is Google Maps Timeline, dont know why , it just cant work on the chinese version of phone
but there is a lot of limitation of software on the global version, huawei messaging app, huawei travel assitance, huawei voice assistant, etc
,
Google feed might not be available too.
My worry would be getting a faulty "green" screen and would need to return it, unless the manufacturer honours the warranty regardless where purchased? I had to exchange mine due to faulty lg screen, but it was an over the counter exchange by 3 UK, whom I bought it from. Luckily got a boe screen and it's fine.

you can install google play store from the huawei store included on the phone - at least some people said that, as well I tried to find it on a phone in the huawei (physical) store (in china) and it had play available for install within the huawei app store. I have no idea about google services, I'm sure someone in this thread must have written about it.
