Music player default headset action - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I'm running a Huwawei P smart, and got fed up with the default player, so started using Musicolet (after trying several). I like the feature of being able to select a folder and play everything in that, rather than just an album, or artist, or playlist, or all music.
However the default action of the phone was to load the use the inbuilt player, even after I set my chosen one to be default. After locating a thread on here, I stopped the storage access for the default player, which is great. It no longer loads.
But I do not seem to be able to get musicolet to auto load and play when I press my headset play button. Once loaded all works fine, but if i pause music, after a few minutes my player unloads itself.
As I ride a motorbike, it's a pain to have to remove glove, unzip, get the phone out, load the player, the put everything back, all because I say stopped for fuel and paused the player.
Any idea's how to get a new player to auto load?
Thanks.

[Q] Stream audio and browse the web same time???

I loaded several songs on my tablet and can play them easily through ES File Explorer or whatever file explorer there is. After I start playing the songs, there has to be a way to keep it playing while I use the tablet for other functions, right? No matter what I try, the app just closes and the music stops. I just basically want to play some tunes locally and browse the web. Simple. Please tell me Android can do this.
Just use the Google music app. It plays local files.
More importantly than the file explorer you're opening the files in, what application is playing the songs?
The default Google Music player multitasks just fine with Chrome and ICS Browser--as well as pretty much any other app that doesn't want to play audio/video.
Not sure what you're doing that's giving you trouble, but you should be able to browse and rawk out just fine.

When I load up es file explorer to find the music files I want to play. Then I'll select a song. It will prompt which audio player to use. I'll select Google one. Starts playing. Then soon as I close file explorer the song stops playing. Can someone try those exact steps?
Just open the music player and let that find the files.
When you exit the music player press the home button, not back and it will keep playing.

That does not work either. This seems to be a small limitation of the device. Apparently the only way to keep music playing is you HAVE to load up the Google music player FIRST, select what you want to play and then you can hit the HOME button and it will keep playing. So basically you can only use the built-in Google music player app to keep music playing AND you have to open up the music player FIRST. I also have another small issue with this. When loading up the Google music player it displays all my music I have in the "cloud" and not what I have on my SD card. Or it is so mixed up, I can't even tell anymore since the player seems very limited right now. Too bad, because I'm pretty into music and Android doesn't seem to have all the stellar features it should have.
Why are you even bothering with the File Explorer?
Just open Google Music and it will find any songs on your device's storage.

This is NOT a limitation of the device. I replicated what you did and the reason why music dies out when opened via ES File Explorer is that it is using the native Google Music app to play audio WITHIN the ES File Explorer interface. ES File Explorer is programmed to stop the audio upon exit--this has nothing to do with Android or the Prime.
If you're dying to use a file explorer to open your music files rather than a much more conveniently designed music app, use the file explorer that comes with the tablet (File Manager). It opens selected music files and will continue playing even after exiting the manager.
Your confusion in the Music app can also be easily solved by selecting "Offline Music Only" in the settings menu. This will hide all music that is not currently stored on the device.
This is funny thread, problems multitasking? Really? Anyways try out poweramp music player for playing local media, blows away the stock Google one!
If you want to use es file explorer to play music, use the included es music player; it'll play music files in the background just fine.

[Q] Where did my lyrics go? (Stock music player)

I'll start off by saying I am NOT downloading another program to make this work, I am not downloading a different music playet and I'm not manually tagging each and every song with their lyrics.... never had to before and everything worked fine.
Having said that, my stock Android Music Player used to automatically download the lyrics to any song I was playing and it would display the lyrics without me doing anything else to the phone. All of a sudden, this is not working anymore. I have gone into the settings and made sure that the lyrics check mark box is ticked. I have a Note 3 on 4.4.2. This didn't work even before the kitkat update.
Thanks for any help guys!

Any way to stop stock music player from autostarting on BT connect?

I've searched and can't find anything, but I need to find a way to stop the stock music player from playing when my phone connects to my car's BT. I use Google play music and want that one to auto start, but every freaking time I start my car, the Samsung player starts that dumb preloaded song.
Honestly, I don't care if I can't get play music to autostart, I just want the Samsung one to stop. And yes, I've tried disabling the app, but it can't be, at least non-rooted. So, any help/advice would be great. Thanks.

Is Google Play Music set as the default music player? I haven't rooted my phone or anything, it's completely stock and just by setting Google Play Music to the default on Day 1 of getting this phone (April 8th) it always auto starts when I connect via Bluetooth.

I never got the option to set it as default and I didn't see anything about it in application manager. Any idea where to find it?
OK, figured it out in a round about way. I had to open a .mp3 in Samsung's file explorer and then it asked me for the default. So let's see if it works.
@Hendrycks
Thanks! It worked.
That didnt work for me. Upon linking to BT in my car, the stock Samsung player still auto starts. I have tried setting play music as default, I have set Player Pro as default. it still auto launches the stock crappy Samsung player app. Ideally I dont want it to auto launch any app. I use Pandora alot in my car and since it auto launches the samsung app, that means my car stereo does not display the track info for the playing song in Pandora on the screen.
Sooo annoyed
I have the same exact issue and it is driving me crazy. I have tried everything in the phone and settings and there is nothing. I have downloaded both Connect and Play, and Smart Connect as bluetooth connectors but the stupid factory music beats it to the punch every time. Nothing works! I am about to chuck my phone. Someone please help!
me too
Does anyone have another suggestion? This happens to me if I even "pause" my podcast player too long. Truely annoying.
I am going to try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp2.start.and.play.music.player&hl=en
So far, with the UI, it does look like it has the right settings/options.
Sorry to bump this but came across this while trying to sort this very same issue. I'v found an app called Package Disabler Pro in the Play Store . The best thing is that it works without root.. It isn't free but I thinks if you been looking for something thats solves this issue its worth it. It worked for me so hope it works for you. And if you try it quick enough you can get a refund if it don't work
Download Trigger, I have mine set so when it connects to bluetooth it launches Google music but you can choose anything you want or nothing at all!

I have the same problem. I installed Trigger, but it didn't work. What task did you add?
The best I came up with was denying access to storage in the application's settings. Now it just prompts me to give it permission when I connect to bluetooth. At least that horrid song doesn't play anymore.
Have you tried Tasker ? Had same problem myself on S6 Edge, but after a little fiddling with Tasker. The default "music" closes, tunein radio is launched & my volume levels are adjusted. I can revert back to "music" by pressing play/pause on hands free.

Music App Launches Automatically

Does anyone know if there's a way to disable the autostart of the music player. I'm on Candy, but it's done this on every rom and any player.
I always freeze the stock launcher and install the Apollo apk. I listen to a lot of podcasts. Every time I start or restart my Jeep with Bluetooth, the music App Launches even if it isn't open and Pocketcast is. Sometimes it's more annoying than others.
I can't find a setting in Settings or the app.

Need help with this mp3 file to play on Music Player(Read below)

I have downloaded some mp3 files on my phone, the problem is that some mp3 files after I download wont go to a certain time stamp. For example: this song is 5 minutes long and its playing on my music player, I want that song to go at [3:51] in the song duration, but it instead redirects the time stamp at [1:13] when I press on the song duration bar and(where you press play and skip). Since they don't want to go at the time stamp( example [3:51]) that I wish for, I tried it on my computer and the files played fine when I played it on Groove Music and went to that actual time stamp like it should. And I noticed that this app "Music Speed Changer" can also go the actual time stamp but my normal music player wont let me do that. So I want to know if there are any apps that can go to the desired time stamp that's also a music player that has playlists, genres category etc. or if there are any alternate solutions. Btw I have a theory that this happens bc of of the phone I use bc its 6 years old, idk if this problem only occurs on older phones, and work fine on newer models.
Overall I just want this complex coding within the music speed player that lets my files play at any time stamp on my normal music player, as that one seems to lack the coding commands that let it play at any timestamp regardless of the mp3 file.
Also I would post a link to a video displaying the problem but I'm new so the website won't let me atm.

I would recommend you to download a new music player, if that's the case.
There's a bunch of good and free music players, such as: VLC (also plays videos), Google Play Music, BlackPlayer Music Player, Spotify, etc.
