So why did you open a new thread instead of posting in the havoc thread where you actually have a higher chance of getting someone to help you?

You have a former H931. If you read the root sticky I gave you, former H931/H933 needs extra prep work for AOSP/Lineage custom ROMs. See post #2, point #2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/root-v30-t3927154
You should read everything in that sticky. It's all important.

[Q] Help on rooting, custom recovery, custom ROM

Okay so I've actually read other threads and combed the forums for a bit of help and I'm sad to say that I'm still pretty much lost. The other How-To threads focus on rooting from froyo so most of them aren't applicable to me.
Phone details:
Model Number: LG P500
Android Version: 2.3.3
Kernel: 2.6.35.10
Firmware: V20E
I plan to follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200167 for rooting but I don't know where to go on from there.
Thanks for taking the time to help. No worries, I'll click the thanks button for your help.

Thanks for the link! Why shouldn't I install CM directly from Rom Manager?
rom manager is known to cause a lot of problems
sometimes it will not flash the recovery right (as you may have read already). some of the problems it causes are not even explainable (for example, ive seen one user try to boot into recovery mode using rom manager and ended up "semi"-bricked in fastboot mode; trust me you do not want to be stuck in that situation). to sum it up, rom manager is not exactly a reliable app

So by following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15309588&postcount=2 work despite me being on a newer kernel? Thanks to you both! I'm really glad that people here aren't willing to let noobs take risks.

[Q] Unable to flash custom rom

I'm new to this whole custom rom thing and i would like to ask for some help. Right now, my phone is rooted and the bootloader has been unlocked.I have tried to install paranoid rom, cyanogenmod and carbon rom so far. I have tried to CWM and TWRP and every single time, i get an error. First time i got the status 7 error. After some searching, i learnt that i have to delete a line of code to get it to work. After i did that, i tried to flash again. This time, i just got an installation aborted error. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
I downgraded my phone to C6802 and as a result, lost my LTE. But this was the only way i knew to root my Sony Xperia Z Ultra running 4.3. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks guys.
Getting LTE back
If you guys don't know how to help me, at least can you guys tell me how i can get LTE back? I dont mind losing root and relocking my bootloader. I just want LTE back. And yes, my phone has LTE capability. I've used LTE for the past 2 weeks.

LTE will return when you get on the correct ROM. as for flashing custom ROMs read the threads, the instructions are normally quite good
CM11 and the new carbon (any rom that is based on 4.3 or 4.4) need to be on 4.3 before flashing them

I just looked at 2 or three and the instructions weren't too bad...
Start at .xxx
fastboot a boot.ing with recovery if you don't have it
wipe as needed
flash .zip from recovery
reboot
Other than that read the sticky by @LordManhattan and read the thread for the rom

Kenzo bootloop problems, any new rom

Hi Guys and greetings from the UK,
Recently i flashed the latest RR, Nitrogen and Pure roms and none of the boot. I'm just wondering if this is down to the unofficial bootloader unlock method. Could somebody either confirm or refute this please?
What options to i have to use the latest roms if it is to do with the BL?
Many thanks

Simply flash Citrus and enjoy your phone. It will work on unofficially unlocked bootloader and is bug free:

Goodix support was added in the most recent update.
It's CAF based, so Citrus will give you better and more stable signal than AOSP or LineageOS based ROMs
Hi i have flashed the rom and it wont boot im afraid. I just have the lemon/lime logo. Same as all the other roms.
Any idea?
Do i need a specific recovery?
I followed the instructions.
If i flash custom kernel do i do this before or after the ROM?

At first make a backup of your working ROM in TWRP (I think we can skip that step in your case)
Wipe Data/System/Internal Storage/Dalvik and Cache
Install ROM, install GApps (Android 7.1 - 64 Bit)
Reboot to System
First reboot can take 5 - 10 minutes, so don't give up if the lemon appears on your screen. Just wait a few minutes.
Everything will be working out of the box. If for some reason you want to try different kernels, just reboot to recovery, flash the kernel of you liking and reboot.

Hmmm,
Thanks for helping me, i must say. Nothing seems to be working for me. I've done as you described exactly and it just isn't booting.
I've been flashing roms forever on multiple handsets so i am very used to doing this. it just seems that no matter what i try, no matter what rom they refuse to boot.
I have to go back to an older rom or restore from twrp
I'm going to start again and follow your instructions step by step again.
Then im going to allow it 30 minutes to boot.
I will let you know.

One last idea would be to update your firmware before flashing the ROM. You will find it here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/cm14-14-1-aosp-n-firmware-kenzo-kate-t3507789
Flash firmware, wipe, flash ROM, flash GApps, reboot
Ok i will try this if the long wait method doesnt work
Ok its just started to boot. the time is 11:50 - i will leave it until 12:20
Ok so its 12:20 and its still on the lemon/lime screen. Ill try your firmware idea now.
Nope. it wont allow me to flash the citrus rom with the older cm 14 firmware.
Hi again.
No its still not booting even with new FW. Ill try the older firmware from your link and tell you how i get on.
Still not working, unable to flash with older fw
I'm going back to my old rom

Your problem is probably lp bootloader. You need to be on mm bootloader to flash latest nougat roms.
Your options.
1. Best option: flash latest global dev rom in fastboot and unlock officially.
2. Try unofficial way if for some reason official unlock didn't work : http://en.miui.com/thread-345728-1-1.html

You've basically answered your own question when you tried it and it didn't work.
Follow what JLius said or if you don't want to download large files you can try the "(experimental)updated method" posted here. Do note that I don't know if it would work if you're already unofficially unlocked as I've tried that with locked bootloader. I can guarantee it works(as in you can flash latest ROMs as long as you have 7.5.4 firmware and above) on Kate although some kenzo users stated that it worked on them.
I wonder why this isn't causing more problems for other people. I fail to believe that i'm the only person using an unofficially unlocked boot loader.

You're welcome.
I am not rude. Try answering the same questions 10 times a day for 60 days. I think I'll stop doing that, let someone else do it or let 'm figure it out for themselves.
"Do yourself a favor and do as I told you."
This is rude. Plain and simple. There is no sentence you can now string together which will make that any less rude either.
I suggest that if you are getting frustrated by helping people, stop doing it. I don't want to feel guilty about asking for help if that's all the same to you.
Belittling people you don't know isn't an admirable trait.
Either way i thanked you for your help, lets leave it at that.

How to install Xposed or flash a custom ROM?

I'm rooted on FireOS 5.4.0.0, and I want to either install Xposed (which I've never done before) or install a custom ROM. Are there any unofficial builds of lineage for this decide, or Resurrection Remix, or something?

You have to downgrade the OS, root, flash twrp, flash 5.4, then flash the stock bootloader. There's a guide in this forum. I can try to write up a clearer one soon, I had to dig through the replies to find clearer instructions.

So I know what I'm doing with everything but the downgrade... how would I do that? Is there a tool for it similar to Root Junky's super tool, or something else noob friendly? Also thanks for the quick reply.

There's a link in the thread I mentioned that has the older OS to download. If I remember correctly, you have to wipe the device and then flash the older OS. Check that thread, all the details and instructions are there

Would there be any issues running an older mk2000 kernel with 10s? I feel like I should wait on either this or mk2000 for now.

LG's great at following HTC's footsteps from five years ago in throwing a bunch of crap at the wall and seeing what sticks, only to abandon most of their power-user-friendly ideas in favor of becoming a generic also-ran that can't keep up with the Chinese, never mind Samsung. They've done one dumb thing after another starting with the G4 and they managed to get lucky once with the V20.
Even then, they still screwed up with the V20 by not selling it in Europe or marketing aggressively everywhere else when the irons (and the batteries) were hot. How the hell do you botch a product offering when your biggest competitor served lithium-ion flambé for that flagship's generation? LG Mobile is a three-ring circus.
Does this update the firmware as well (modem, bootloader, etc)?
