I'm not sure how much interest there is in development for the LG Watch Sport but I have the USB PCB that attaches to the little connector next to the SIM card slot. I was able to unlock my bootloader with it. I think once I get enough posts I can post images to show, but in the meantime, any devs want me to try running anything on the device?

Thats fantastic! Maybe this could be used to unlock european frecuency bands on W280A? It would be great!
What does the cable look like please? Is there a converter chip or is it just a direct usb connection to the pins? Could I connect a usb lead straight to the pins? I would be interested in unlocking the bands for Europe.
I will try to give more details later but it appears there is some components between the usb and the interface that attaches to watch so doubtful you could connect directly. Are you the same user from reddit asking for detailed pics?
Not the same user, just interested as I have purchased the w280a on ebay and live in France so would like to unlock the compatible bands for cellular connectivity. It also seems to me to be one of the best watches I could find new for a good price (150 euros new open box) and so I'm interested in general development and mods that could come from this discovery.

This is where I bought it : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/LG-Watch-Sp...967940?hash=item1cae286804:g:P04AAOSw4ahbG7BB
If we could figure out the usb issue then this watch might get a lot more attractive again at this price even in 2019...
I was also wondering about using the bigger battery from the Urbane 2 (BL-S6), would that fit maybe? If so it would fix the major flaw of this watch.
usb pcb? how u do it? and what capabilities We have if we get bootloader unlock? it's including network unlock or not?

I once asked about a similar port on the back of my old VN250 dumbphone over on the SparkFun IRC channel at freenode, I recall them mentioning something about it being there so manufacturers could easily write an image to a large number of devices. Is that true? If so/not could this be used to facilitate hacking the device?
I might be able to hack up a connector if I knew what kind of jack that was.

I am almost certain that this is a "u.fl" interface. If you look on a Wireless NIC you will see the same connector. This connector is for a wireless antenna. You could try connecting an antenna to It. I have one and will tell you the results.
Its for connecting an external antenna, many phones have this somewhere but its usually hard to find and easy to damage if you mess around with it.
Unfortunately I found out too late that the Moto E 2nd generation (2015 LTE) purchased directly from Cricket Wireless comes with a permanent locked boot loader. It came preinstalled with Lollipop. Is anyone willing to work on a way to unlock the boot loader, maybe for a few bucks? If someone has already come up with a method of unlocking this phone, could someone direct me? I have been searching for weeks and come up empty. The closest I came was with Sunshine, but it couldn't with Lollipop installed. I have tried the ADB method but obviously failed and Motorola gives the device not compatible message when trying to unlock from their site (obviously) and now at a loss. If anyone is willing to help, I'd appreciate it.
I'm dealing with the same exact issue. It's been driving me crazy as well.

I am glad I'm not alone on this, just hope someone is interested enough to actually try, and who knows, maybe even succeed.
You're definitely not alone. I've seen some interesting and possibly relevant posts in the Moto E section. Including a batch file that tries a bunch of codes. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. But I'm still plugging away at it. I'm not a developer though, just a geek that enjoys trying to break things.

Do you have the link to the file? I'd love to try. Stupid thing with Sunshine is it passed the Percheron's but because it has lollipop installed, it has to be rooted first to unlock.

Thanks TheWeirdedOne, I am giving it a shot right now, it appears that it is going to be a long brute force process, still faster than if I tried to guess.
Lemme know your results, please. I need to run it again overnight, I didn't get very far when I tried (needed the phone). So I'm going to try again as well.

Yea, I needed my phone, I was only able to try for a few hours, no luck yet. From what I can tell, it appears the code is in hex, wouldn't it be easier to broot force by incrementing the value by one. Only thing is we'd need to know for sure is how many characters long it should be. I'd think this would be faster than randomizing, just my opinion. Also with that tool, what prevents it from trying some of the same codes? I really hope someone with real knowledge would respond and help out, but I am not about to demand it or annoy anyone.
I hear ya. I believe it's a 20 digit code. The guy that made it just basically randomized the numbers in the list. I highly doubt it would actually work. So we sit and wait patiently. Someone will eventually crack it, even At&t might, at some point allow for the bootloader to be unlocked. Until then, we just sit and wait lol
If it is a 20 digit code, I might try a simple hex counter with this, but that still will take awhile for it to run. I wish Cricket would reveal the code for my phone.
You and me both, I feel like I got ripped off. This isn't a phone that was purchased under a contract. That's what bugs me. The phone is completely ours since we paid for it. We should have fill rights to do whatever we want to it.

Yes, I so agree, just wish I were smart enough to crack it or rich enough to rip one of these apart and break it if needed. Regardless, I'm open for suggestions.
This phone's price is subsidized by Cricket. If you want a fully unlocked version you can buy it from Motorola directly:
http://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones/moto-e-2nd-gen/moto-e-2nd-gen.html
I would like it a lot if the bootloader was unlocked, but I don't feel cheated.

I never said I felt cheated at all, I only requested assistance with unlocking the bootloader
Let's please stay on topic.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way to use odin to crack the bootloader instead of adb mode or rsd lite, you know like using Linux to crack windows , I'm already familiar with Odin as far as rooting a Galaxy Tab 3 is concerned. Im sure I'm just grabbing at straws right now.
Any other ideas with this? The script is unrealistic at this rate.
Resurrecting an old thread here, but I take it no one has yet found a way to unlock a Cricket Moto E 2015? Disappointing that you have to wait 6 months in order to have Cricket do the unlocking for you. I would like to root my phone but apparently that isn't going to happen any time soon! I'll keep hoping though.

I'm looking for the same thing, I dumpster dive and I found this same awesome touchscreen display running Android. I haven't had any luck installing any apps, and the only thing I can do is go through the very limited setting menu. Any help would be awesome
Have you guys had any luck with this? The unit doesn't even recognize apk files, much less give me the option to install them.
It looks like some other people have found Amiibo kiosks and want to hack them. I've got one too. The information posted in the OP is what I know so far. It would be cool to be able to install some other apps or even get a custom version of Android running on these things. I'm sure other people are looking for information on them. Since the Nintendo Switch was released, these things are in the wild either through dumpster diving or knowing people at the retail stores. They could make for a very cool game room project if someone can provide a little information on the http://www.ducotech.com/ displays.
The only thing I was actually able to do was make it play movies. But for some reason it restarts after a few minutes, as if it has an auto restart set to a specific time.
How were you able to make it do that? I can't even get it to do that.

Trial and error lol I don't remember the exact thing I did, but I know I made it happen my using the menu and navigation buttons located on the back of the panel. I also had an sd card inserted, loaded with a movie and somehow it worked. But like I said, it would only play for a little bit and then the whole thing would restart and go back to the main menu

So it seems as if, for full functionality, we need the security dongle. I wonder if this can be bypassed in any way.

Good luck finding one, you would need to find someone who works for the company that provides the displays. And I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap either. It's like selling someone's codes for their bank account. If a security dongle got out and was duplicated, that could be harmful for their business.
I found some workarounds and posted them here here:

The Emerge gets the root but this one doesn't? This phone is pretty much the exact same phone as specs show it. So, why is this phone getting the shaft while the other gets more attention? I would love to root the phone but seems every phone I by from Tracfone does not ever get root attention except my LG Optimus Fuel, which is way too old to even bother with.
Come on developers. I would like to put a custom rom on this but it seems like it will never happen. I guess me and people that have the same phone as me are just SOL. Thanks a whole lot! :crying:
Tracfones typically have locked bootloaders which make it very difficult to root. They also tend to lock phones down more than most carriers. Nearly every android phone can turn on developer options by tapping the build number 7 times but you can't even do that on a tracfone I recently got (SM-S320VL). Lower end phones and less popular models just don't get the attention that higher end phones do so it's very unlikely you'll see a root for your phone unless Kingroot or Kingoroot find an exploit in the current Android OS's - which I also see as unlikely being the newer OS's are getting harder to root all the time.
I got developer options turned on and I have done on all phones from Tracfone. What are you talking about?
LG Optimus Fuel (Rooted)
ZTE Citrine
LG Rebel
Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro
All with Developer options enabled.
Also, does not explain why the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge gets the root. All it is, is a different network and different name. Pretty much same phone and same OS.
Also, why is it people answer but really do not answer about what is asked but just answer to what they only want to answer, which is not what should be answered?
J3 luna pro
I had no problems enabling my developer opitons not one bit of trouble I have the exact same model it Verizon one factory unlocked under tracphone from my knowledge Verizon Samsung was always harder to root so that maybe the case with our phone trust me I want to root mine really bad and been patient I bought this phone as am waiting on another phone release that am pre ordering wanted something inexpensive an decent no lag and fast I choose this if that is Verizon as well you maybe able to use the root unless it Odin I would do more research and remain patient they do alot of phones an deal with alot of different models firmwares it not that easy I want to root mine so I can get cm os because it lot faster no bloatware more smoother scrolling better battery life can't wait to make this phone faster all Round better

No need to take that tone with someone who was nicely addressing your question. If you bite someone's head off just because they didn't (in your opinion) get every thing right in their response to something your not likely to get much help on these forums. People do not profit from helping you, they are doing it to be kind. When you are asking for help try to keep this in mind.

That's fairly hilarious. I've got over 40 smart phones and nearly all of them are rooted, many with custom ROMS and some I got with Google FRP enabled which I managed to bypass despite not finding a single person, forum or youtube that could explain how to bypass it on this particular phone ( not the SM-S320VL I mentioned ) with the build it had on it. If yours works thats great but I am telling you that this particular SM-S320VL phone with the version that is on it does not allow developer options to be turned on. Doing an OEM unlock and turning on developer options is so basic and Kindergarten for almost everyone on here that your comment shows a lack of understanding what XDA is about and the type of members on here. All you have done is make yourself look foolish.

My point in mentioning a different but similar model is that some carriers have their models more locked down and Tracfone seems to be one of them. Maybe that one had a problem as I do have a couple other Tracfone models that with developer options able to be turned on. But the whole point on my post was to say root is less likely for some of the lower end phones and that most of the Tracfone models I've seen were not rootable.
As I said in another post elsewhere, I have owned tabs that have come prerooted from factory. So why couldn't our phones be sold to us prerooted or at least ready to root? As far as the conversation goes with you... I am done and over it. We all know TracFone and straight talk do not make very smart decisions but they are doing better. They just need to listen to their subscribers and fix the stuff that's wrong on their end.

The way it works is you tap build number 8 times to enable Dev ops, then go into it and allow oem unlock. It should never ask you for a pin number. You may be under the line sim unlock. Sim unlock is lower in the Dev ops than OEM UNLOCK. Good hunting.
Edit- the setup sim lock/unlock is in the security menu so judging by this you may not have developer options enabled DirtyLikaRat
Does SM-S377TL = SM-S327VL?
Hello, This comment is why I am a member Thank you Droidzer1. I work with Hardware support and sometimes people just don't get it - No two exact same phones are exactly the same - There are too many factors.
Hopefully you can help me out.
Issue
I have a Samsung J3 Luna Pro for TracPhone but the Model is SM-S377TL and I cannot find any combination or Flash files for this device to enable ADB and Debugging during FRP so I can reset the FRP code (Turn it off or disable) with the MiracleBox software.
Does SM-S377TL = SM-S327VL in the sense of FRP software coding and placement? (When I worked for some of the big Wireless providers I noticed that the Same Device and Models would have different Model Numbers (GSM vs CDMA) which makes sense due to software and hardware differences and I am worried this may be the same but I am hoping the files can be used in both devices without issue.
Any Advice from Anyone is greatly appreciated! (This phone was legally purchased but has an old Google Account that cannot be accessed on it)

Hello, I currently have a Redmi Note 4, but the ribbon cable towards the screen is ripped. A month into using it, and the housing randomly bent on me, and around on the 5 month of using this, it gave up on me. The phone is still working , but you can't control it. Before I have it repaired, I'd like to back up my entire internal storage first. However, since the screen won't detect anything, you can't set it up. It's non-rooted, but I don't remember whether I unlocked the bootloader. Btw, it's still running the vanilla 7.0 ROM it came with.
P.S.
I need to have everything backed up because the store I bought it on won't honor the warranty and want to charge me around $95 for parts replacement. Nice scam. Anyway, it'll take me some time to find a repair shop that has spare parts for this (since the housing is bent beyond repair as well). 'Til then, I really gonna need to get my files. Thanks!
