ok not new to the rom scene just new to the nook. this nook is for my son im looking for some suggestion on stable rom i can use with it and pretty much forget about it. stable is my main goal then functionality multitouch etc. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you
Stable is probably stock/rooted 1.4.0 with your favorite launcher on top.
Then if you want multitouch then cm10 and update firmware for 5-touch must be applied. There are steps to do this running off sd but its probably better to get a second used nt and test it without problems (kids and test roms don't mix) I have my own so I know. Here is the one rom that don't have sleep issue and I currently recommend on a second nt that your kid is not using for 5-touch enable rom. CM10 uses a lot of battery power compare to stock, especially oc roms currently.

I've been using CM10 Pure AOSP ROM, and it works flawlessly on my Nook Tablet 8GB.

I'll second this. This one is excellent, I'm surprised to have found a CM10 ROM that I actually consider to be a 'daily driver' already but this one is it for me.
As per all "which/most stable/best ROM" threads, thread closed. Asking for recommendations on stability is very subjective and you'll get lots of different answers about the same ROM's where one will be rock solid for some while it's completely unstable for others due to the features each individual uses.
Best suggestion is to read the changelogs in the ROM threads to see which options are there that meet your requirements and then flash and try. It'll be a short term pain for a long term gain for you to find the right ROM.
Thanks

Hi all!! I'm here (again, and again, and again, and I'll be back again in about 1 week)
I am looking forward to install a new rom on my gs3. I am actually using temasek's build running cm 11.0. It works fine, but I find it a little bit unstable and i really need soooo much more battery! So I don't know what build use.
That's my usage:
Data always on, 24/7.
Music about 3 hours a day.
Gaming for about 1h.
I would really appreciate tips about what rom I should pick^^^
Thank you so much and have a nice night

Sorry to disappoint you but this is still considered as a Best ROM thread. We can't recommended you any. Just try them all and see what fits your usage as this is the only way for you to get unbiased opinions.
Mod Edit
"Best" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Which one is the most stable rom at this moment ?
ROM comparison is against the spirit of the community, please refrain from asking such questions, every developer is working equally hard enough to bring us beautiful ROMs, there is no perfect ROM, one which is stable for you wont be stable for the next user, therefore i urge you to try the ROMs for yourself and then decide.
Nothing better than downloading and testing
Every rom has their ups and down, try them and find the one that suits you best
You should at least try for yourself the official rom and a CM based one. I have used the CM 12.1 unoffical rom in the first place but since I encountered a bug there moved to Oxygen rom. Since I like it, do not feel the need to change. Also the custom kernels seem to be very stable on the Oxygen rom.
You must try the roms and decide by your self which is the best for you.
Personaly I'm using purity rom (you'll find it only on g+), it's very stable.
Anyway you can try the one you prefer (ex if you like customization, flash aicp official; if you like something with some good stuffs, go ahead with cm13 or purity and other roms; if you like stock you can try some kernels).
I really hate all the answers like yours. It's like you don't want to offend the developers, so you copypaste your stupid message in every freaking thread.
You know, critics, as long as are not offensive, are really useful, and let dev improve themselves.
Also, it doesn't ask for what roms sucks, but for what roms are good, so I really don't understand why you people do this. People don't have lot of time like maybe you do, and a thread about the stablests rom could be really useful.
That said, I still don't have the device, but from what I can read, cm13 isn't stable. Seems like oxygen is the best option for lollipop (and for kernel related stuff), while if you want marshmallow I'd recommend exodus (the dev are really great), and for what is worth, I tried on Moto g 2014 and it was the best rom out there.

Thats what I have said to him in my comment, but also the other guys. Oxygen OS is more stable and try 2-3 roms max, nobody said to try 10 roms then decide. Whats the point of hating here.

Offending developers, though not appreciated, isn't the point, and as for your statement saying that such comparisons help the developers improve themselves is quite misinformed, because the OP asked for the best ROM, and if everyone just named 1 or 2 ROMs then how do you think will the developers of the left out ROMs will feel ? Keep it etched in your mind that ALL of this is coming for FREE, and there is no ROM that "sucks" as i said in my above reply, ill rephrase it here, one ROM that "sucks" for you wont "suck" for the next person, person A might prefer AOSP barebones, whilst person B would like customization, so what i mean is no ROM sucks, every ROM has its strong points & weak points, a ROM having bugs doesn't mean that it sucks, it can mean a variety of different thing from incomplete device tree to vendors not releasing proper sources or simply the developer having a personal life and is giving priority to other more important or pressing issues, if the developer wants to improve himself then posts like these wont help in that, because (I might be horribly wrong here) I'm pretty sure the developer maintaining the ROM cant do much to actually improve the core principles of the ROM unless the actual developer of the ROM doesn't provide that update, all they can do is provide support and fix bugs when provided with proper logs to MAKE the ROM stable, and as for you opinion, OOS is definitely NOT the most stable LP ROM, and if the user would care to look at the replies and opinions of others on the ROM threads, he'll find that CM13 IS in fact much more stable than OOS right now.
While we generally allow "best ROM" threads, this one is getting out of hand.
Thread closed.
Firstly I'll apologise for making such a thread. Every developer gives their best to make their ROMs, but then there are normal people like me, who doesn't know anything about ROM development :3 if our phones get bricked, we're screwed. This is why I'm creating this thread. Comment away! Thanks in advance
This is why we say do some reading before jumping into flashing and try new things.
I suppose you may not be familiar.
I would have given you a long descriptive answer but I think that will break the essence of testing and some ethics of rom development possibly.
I would say - Start reading the development threads initial posts and try them out. They're quite helpful in finding out how stable it may or may not be.
On the lighter side of it : Ashwin's CM13 or Temasek's CM based ROM might be your best bet.... But like I said earlier there are other ROMS as well.

What is more stable, Ashiwn's or Temasek's CM13?
I planned to ask a similar question about what ROM is least buggy so I can use it as daily driver. (I'm most of my time with no internet away from home)
This weekend I spend most of the time reading those topics of the ROMs and haven't decided which one to flash.

i'd say ashwins, have used both and for now, ashwins has 0 bugs (FOR ME) people are complaining about background noise in calls, they hear the people behind yu as clear as you self etc.etc. but yeah, now you have my opinion.
Hit that Thanks if it deserves it.
for me ashwins is the best also and i have tried most of them.
For me (only my opinion), stock oss is best. Although i hear complaints, personally i don't have any issues. It has been my daily driver since xmas i bought this phone.
Really depends. I recommend you give both AOKP and AOSParadox a try. Both great ROMs.
There really isn't a best.... It depends on ehi you are and how you use your device
Loving the color os experience.. Tried almost all the MM roms available for opx but came back to LP as it is more stable for my daily driver. I need Bluetooth which is better in cm 12.1.
Color os has gr8 battery life and loads of customization... Installation is little tricky though.

If u want smoothness !
After installing gapps and other daily apps , I faced lags in all ROMs except
Purity ROM built 8/4(MM)
Cm12.1 built 11 (LL)
With ecofix!
Acc to me these are the stablest for me !
I use xposed heavily .
I was a bit disappointed after OOS 2.2.1 because Bluetooth is not fix. But after reading this thread, I would more install a third-party app instead of flashing another ROM. OK OOS is not perfect and has less customization than Cyanogen but stability and good camera is a must-have for me. Now, I never flashed my OPX.
Exodus bcoz it use layer + opendelta (no need to fladh full zip when update come) + nightly!

I don't know what to go now, CM customization or go for AOSP ROM and customize it with Xposed. I probably install xposed on both one so idk....

Is ashwins being actively developed? In the thread it's seems stagnant and no updates in the changelog for a while.
mokee coz of aegis (+ the rom is rock stable & smooth)
CrDroid with Blue Spark Kernel. Almost no bugs , pure AOSP experience. Cyanogen Tweaks. The way an Android is meant to be IMO
MoKee has been pretty good to me, and Aegis is an insane battery saver. I don't like to have too much bloat when it comes to Xposed and such so having just one great saver is awesome.
I do want to try out other ROMs though, and ColorOS might be my next stop.

There are so much Custom ROMS for Redmi Note 3[QC] . But all of those are much similar to each another there's nothing new in there, not even any unique features. SO THIS IS A REQUEST TO DEVELOPERS TO PLEASE MAKE SOMETHING NEW & UNIQUE. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WANT THIS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE
PLUS I MUST SAY ONE THING THE JOB THAT DEVS ARE DOING FOR US I MEAN LIKE PORTING ROMS AND KERNELS, MAKING NEW MODS, FIXING BUGS(WHICH IS REALLY TOUGH) ETC. WITHOUT BEING PAID FOR THEIR TERRIFIC WORK. THAT'S JUST AWESOME AND I AM VERY THANKFUL TO THEM ALL .
And meanwhile if anyone can suggest me a good custom ROM for our Beast RN3[QC] . That would be very thankful:angel::highfive::good:.
Thanx in Advance.
Developers make their rom in their free time without being paid so its really not respectful to demand more when someone is giving you something for free. There are lots of roms for redmi note 3 that you can try many cm based roms, miui roms many custom kernels i havn't tried all of them but its a good thing that so much development happens here.
Now a days You can pretty much add any feature you like to a rom with xposed. So when a dev makes a nice smooth rom be greatful and enjoy what you got for free

There's no such thing as "best rom". Intresting to see peoples comments on various roms though.
I'm currently on bliss, and it's f-ing awesome, especialy paired with arcus for theaming joy.
RR 5.7.0 and 5.7.1 have the -2% or 50% battery bug, both of them.
I tested in 2 units RedMi Note 3 Pro SnapDragon 3GB 32GB and both of them show the same behavior with ResurrectionRemix 5.7.0 and 5.7.1:
After rebooting for first time battery is stuck in -2% or 50%. Otherwise the phone works well, battery actually charges.
If you are luck you will get the 50% instance of the issue, that only results in the uncertainty of "how much juice do I have left?".
If you get the -2%, additionally to the uncertainty, you will have all the annoyances related to the phone thinking it has no-juice: popups, no flash, etc...
If you can live with those, RR is fine and stable.

IR, notifications, FP all working 76000+ Antutu. Flashed with GApps.
Nice AOSP feel, some extras nothing over the top and stable.

I agree with you. All of the roms are the same. Even mooke isn't much different from CM these days. DU is just a copy of RR. All of them are the same, nothing unique.
I also would like to see something amazing.

If you want something different you can try flymeos from Meizu. They create official flyme for redmi note 3 snapdragon.
http://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-51.html#7
Still beta but ok for daily usage. Imo, quite bloated but its UI is smoother than MIUI, fp work, IR blaster work, gps lock fast, battery comparable with cm/miui.
Minus are a little animations glitch, some not translate to English.
