Well, you have no carrier bloatware, so that's not the reason.
I'm using Nova launcher for years and like it.
Try these settings in Developer Options, the three animation settings and GPU rendering. Those can all either speed up the phone or make things happen faster.

I've Rooted my HTC One - Now what?

I've successfully unlocked my bootloader, flashed recovery and rooted my One using Superuser. It was pretty difficult and confusing to be honest. I got Titanium Back-up and froze all those stupid bloatware apps.
Now what can I do? I see there are two pretty good roms over here in the forums, but I'm not sure if I should grab one of those or wait for other better ones? Is there a "best" rom? Anything else I can do while waiting?

My advice? Take some time and just enjoy the phone. Its too soon for there to be
much going on in terms of ROMs and MODs. But they will come...
I generally get rid of the stock ROM on a new phone as soon as possible...but I have been
impressed with Sense 5 so far...gonna rock it for a while I think.
Check out the TrickDroid rom in the international HTC One forum. I've got that on my AT&T One, and it's amazing.

Appreciate the reply. I saw that one. I was having a hard time telling what exactly it does that is better than the stock rom? Anything you can tell me about it/ what you use it for?
Thanks.

One app I consider a must have for rooted devices is adblock plus. Get it and enjoy a faster, cleaner, and less data intensive internet experience. Just be aware that it's no longer part of the play store, and you'll have to sideload it.

I've rooted devices before, but never installed a custom rom. Might be fun to give it a try.
However, just to make sure I won't do anything wrong...I replaced my recovery with TWRP when I first rooted.
I'm thinking I add the .zip rom to my root directory, make a backup with TWRP, backup my apps with titanium backup, then just flash the rom and restore my apps? Is it that simple?
Also, should I wipe the dalvik in addition to the regular data?

Actually the list of improvements and added features in TrickDroid (and several other 1.29 based International ROMs) compared to the stock ROM is quite large, which very easily justifies the reason for bootloader unlocking/rooting your phone. Some of these improvements/mods are available over here in the AT&T dev section, and some are only available in International based ROMs (for now anyway)
Newer firmware than the AT&T base (1.29 compared to 1.26)
Supposedly the camera software in 1.29 is considerably better with things like improved processing for pictures; I haven't verified this for myself
That stupid permanent power saving toggle in the notification pulldown menu has been removed (replaced by a much nicer and smaller status bar toggle button)
The only-useful-maybe-one-time-but-is-always-there IME icon that pops up in the task bar (when the keyboard is being used) has been removed
For people that use Sense as their launcher, there are options to change the icon grid in the drawer to 4x5 / 5x6 instead of the screen wasting 3x4 default
There are very nice looking scrollable color toggle buttons in the pulldown menu for the normal things like wifi, bluetooth, GPS, flashlight, switching between silent mode & normal mode, etc. The toggles can be long-pressed to go directly into the options related to the function of that toggle
The stock messaging app has more options (custom background, colors for the conversation bubbles)
HTC has lowered the overall "boomsound" volume in 1.29 a bit, presumably to correct the popping sounds that people have experienced on earlier firmware builds including the AT&T 1.26 build. In my opinion, even with this lower volume, the phone is plenty loud and the speakers are still louder than my Galaxy S3. There are still ways to increase your volume back up again if you really need it (for example, the faux123 kernel has "faux sound" that can pump up the volume, among other audio tweaks)
There is a brightness mod available to lower the really high default automatic brightness settings a bit, to increase battery life
There is a mod available to temporarily turn on the display when an SMS message is received if the phone's display is off
There is a mod available to wake up the phone with the volume buttons (in addition to the power button of course)
There is a no-pin Exchange mod available for the stock email client that overrides the need for a pin # when connected to a corporate Exchange email system that requires phone security
There is a stock-based kernel available as a choice during the installation that maps the HTC logo as a menu key. Actually I think it really just maps a touch point on the display immediately above the HTC logo, but it is very close to the logo and actually works.
There is a mod available to remove the stupid 3-dot button in apps that still use a menu key. Obviously you would only want to use this mod when you've got something mapped as a menu button (either the back key long-press option or the HTC logo mapping mentioned previously)

Thanks for you post. My HTC One is on its way, and this is the ROM I plan to flash. Can you please elaborate on this last part?
Are you saying that there is a place on the settings menu to select a custom mapping for the menu button? and THEN you flash the mod? Doesn't that sound backwards? Wouldn't one flash the mod which would give you the option of a custom menu button mapping somewhere in the settings menu?
just be patience
it's take times to build a better rom for new device.maybe 3-4month.we can get perfect rom

I heard there's a mod to use the logo as a button. I would turn that into a MENU button.

Really? I thought for sure the AT&T One I had was 1.29. I have the DE now, and its 1.29.1540.3 I guess that would be another reason if you are paying full price to go with the DE.

Amazing navigation bar in G Pro 2

Wooow super navigation bar really amazing
LG_G2 Flex 32 GB Karaşimşek©
Wow, more buttons....so what I only need 3 anyway. Plus the phone is big as hell, it has more space for more buttons anyway....
There are several cool features of the new software for stock control.
Is there any way to port this to stock 4.4.2 ROMs on the G2 so that we can replace the Menu button by Recent Apps?
In my humble opinion that navigation bar looks too cluttered and asymmetric.
I think, LG should just update ours G2 KK stock roms with those features we'go 20A, so maybe 20B? I also would glad welcome those dissabling features in notification bar.. go to hell with volume nad brightness sliding controls...

I happen to know of an xposed module for the G2 that will simply replace any "menu" button on the navbar with a recents button. It then causes a long-press on recents to bring up a menu. I'm sure it'll appear once xposed is updated to support the G2's kitkat firmware.
cool they copied custom roms, and I like it haha
hope it has a last app button

You are wrong... and clueless. I've already replaced the menu button on my device with recent apps, and then a bit more. While messing with that code, I also encountered the code (this is in the d80020c firmware) for user editing of the navbar. Here's how to just replace menu with recent apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50857685&postcount=4
LG G2
I dont know why LG still not bring all the best to the LG G2 on Kitkat 4.4. The upgrade seem has no change again 4.2.2
awesome.. I hope we can port it soon

Sorry to be ot but you seem to me to be a good person to ask. I recently ran cloudya flex rom (4.2.2), a port which included the ability to hide the soft keys on apps of the users choice leaving a small touch area to bring them back. Do you happen to know if the code for this is present in the G2 stock rom but hidden or, otherwise, is it something that could easily be ported as a standalone mod? I think this may have been present in some earliar Korean builds.
I asked in the relevant thread but didn't get any joy other than being pointed in the direction of a buggy immersive app and exposed mods.
I would much appreciate your thoughts on this.
uh oh.... im in love... the glittery front bezel reminds me of the backing of the nexus 4. it looks awesome. i want it...
"G2 Xposed" allows you to customize the navbar as well, only one button less. Plus it can adjust the navbar height, and there is "bleed emmersive mode" for some well-designed apps.

ThinQ UPDATE (AI and QLens) for Europeans is here!!!

Hello everyone, I know 100% for sure that a new update containing AI and QLens for the European LG G6 (H870) is here. The problem is, I have a branded one, so I was wondering if someone could extract the new firmware (that should be called H87020b_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0611.kdz) from LG Bridge and upload it here. I think it would be highly appreciated from many users. Thank you very much!
Wow what a good piece of news.
Will try to update tonight ??

Not so 100% sure because AI is unavailable. Only QLens and bright mode is added.
I just flashed the update and apart from camera changes, no noticeable change at all, maybe some under-the-hood.

The name is Smallest width in the Drawing list.
Do you have someone sample picture with activate bright mode? I would like to know if is normal size pictures only 516KB and black screen in dark place. Weird is also resolution only 2080x1560 and size 416KB how can I change output of resolution?
Long battery life ? Anyone ?
I've received updates for my G6 (G600L). And also an update for home app. Now with a new lock sound effect. After the latest camera update, btw actually it's not bad . one thing that I have noticed. The battery life is bit better than it used to be. When the phone is on 'Phone Idle' mode aka when at idle states battery didn't drain fast like earlier. I don't know how it affected to others.

LG V30 Always On Display AOD has changed with Jan Update

Hi,
I just installed V21w-JAN-21-2019 and suddenly my AOD was reset, when I tried to switch it on again my original default theme was gone.
Anyone else notice? Now the Numbers in the digital clock are in a bolder font.... I really liked the old style better
Also the quick access (media/flashlight, etc) is now below the time.... it used to be on top
it used to be like this

Why don't they add, instead of replace a signiture design element?

No, it's not Pie. You can tell by the file name. Nougat was 1x, Oreo is 2x, Pie will be 3x. This is 25W.
Pie will come by end of June.

Is LG done with the V30?

So... we have Pie. Is LG done with this phone now? Would be great if there was at least another update fixing and polishing some bugs in Pie...

Just some small thing with the notification area for exaqmple. Sometimes I can't swipe away notifications, they stay until i close the notification area... Clock color sometimes is grey instead of white.
And LG apps are weirdly slow since Pie, the audio recording app for example takes 1-2 secs for "opening the list..." everytime I go the list of my recordings and I stopped using the LG gallery app because animations aren't always smooth etc.
Dont get me wrong, it's all fine and usable, not bad at all It's just that things could be done.
