Yes I have been. I like the features more than the usual thing for the huawei mate 20 pro devices. Microsoft has always been quite smooth for all devices I have put it on.

Only reason why I don't use third party launchers is because it uses extra battery compared to stock. Not worth the trade off

I used it a bit but to be honest I noticed I only use a launcher to click an app icon to start an app ?. As mentioned 3rd party launchers may use more battery so I just use Huawei stock.

Thankfully I haven't noticed any extra battery drain, but I love the features.
It's not fully compatible with Huawei gesture navigation but it's usable.

Ditto, and worth the price.
You can put widgets on the lock screen, multiple sliders for different functions, and a separate wallpaper. Heck, I even have my LastFM widget there for easy access without unlocking and my camera for the same reason.
I was looking for something similar, i was missing the mail addon for lockinfo, but i settled for widget locker + executive assistant. i think it's the best combination. though still not entirely like lockinfo (i'd like to be able to mark emails as read without accessing gmail app).
Im playing with executive assistant and am really liking it.
Thank you all..
Another vote for executive assitant. It's really good once you understand all the settings.
There are some nice apps out there that do these things and Widget Locker is ok, however coming from the iPhone myself and having used intelliscreen, widget locker is lacking in comparison. There is an app however that is almost identical to intelliscreen and I thing in some ways even better, its Executive Assistant. There are 2 versions a free version with ads, and the pay version. I liked the app so much I payed for it, but I think if you give this a try you wont be disappointed its really sweet!!
I've been looking for something similar to this as well! I'll have to try executive assistant out...
Don't know if anyone will see this, but I found executive assistant in my search for an intelliscreen replacement. I don't know if it fully does it for me though. The marking as read thing is killing me. What are the settings you suggest to make it good? Also anyone miss tlert?

Nothing lacks in comparison to the Iphone or any app on the Iphone for that matter.
Is there anything out for ICS like this?
Still Widget Locker. Runs great on ICS Passion.

Clearly, you never owned a jailbroken iPhone with lockinfo on it if you are making that statement. Several things are lacking in Android such as:
- Mail Enhancer
- Color mail labels
- and LockInfo.
While some alternatives come close, they are not good enough.

ROMs with S-Pen Functions and Samsung Apps

I'm not asking which people like best, because I know that is highly subjective. What I want to know are which ROMs have all original S-Pen functions intact and if they have Samsung's apps too, that a bonus. I want a ROM that has more settings in the notification pull down and more theme options, but I don't want to give up the S-Pen functions that were one of the big reasons I got a Note. Any ideas?
did you know you can get gmt spen control from the market and use it with any rom? Then get an app like papyrus or memo, and you can set up custom gestures, or the original gestures if you like.
It works extremely well, and let's you try out cm based roms while still getting to use your s pen

You, my friend, are my hero for the day! I absolutely did not know that. I've only had the phone like 2 days and have only been back on Android like 2 days. I was on Windows Phone for the past two years after about as long on Android and really got out of touch with Android during that time.
Also, what is the name of the app that gives you S-Pen control? I got a lot of results but quite a few of them seemed fairly shady.

Almost any rom that is based on the recent 4.1.2 release will be able to run the S-Note app.

Launcher and default apps

Hi is it possible to use nova launcher on the mate 10 pro? Also is it possible to use google stock apps for dialler, messaging and photos? Basically replace Huawei apps with google apps?
Yes it is! I am doing just that on the Mate 10 (non-pro) so I am sure it will work the same for the pro version.
Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Default apps
I had read that there were some issues running Nova over the EMUI. I'm really tempted to get this phone but with the Nova Android experience I am afraid. Also hoping for a slight price drop
Not sure what you read...or where...but I have used Nova on this (and all my phones) for years and there are no issues for me???
Nova can crash when you're trying to add a emui widget to it. I had to replace the stock clock widget with a 3rd party widget because of that...

Not exactly. Luncher Nova crashes and system suggests uninstall it.
Some of you are saying it crashes and others are saying emui works fine. Now whicb is correct
I use Nova everyday with no issue and have been for three weeks on the Mate 10 pro. I am not sure about the EUMI widgets causing issues because I don't use them on Nova. My friend has an honor 8 and runs Nova everyday for a year with no major issues. Sometimes if nova updates you may have to reset it as your default launcher. I would say you shouldn't have any major issues with Nova but your mileage may vary.
Well, since the EUMI widgets are causing the crashes then I would lay the blame directly on EUMI. Nova works great on all phones so....YMMV. I don't use widgets at all. My Mate 10 runs great without issue using Nova Prime as the launcher.
Nova works fine on the Mate 10 Pro as long as you don't use the stock EMUI widgets. If concerned about widgets and not bothered about paying then get KWLP or/and KWGT - you can get some good screens and widgets for free if you look around

I heard that the Mate 10 pro crashes running other launchers. Causes the device to restart and resets to default launcher. I want to get the next Hauwei P series but worried about EMUI causing unwanted problems. I would like to use Nov launcher but won't put up.with the bugs that come with it. Not if I'm paying a premium price for a flagship handset

Read posts, its Huawei stock widgets causing problems and happens with all other launchers. Don't use Huawei widgets and you be fine. The problem is not Nova Launcher, it is Huawei widgets.

Another problem is that EMUI running on the Mate 10 pro has notification problems. You don't receive notifications most of the time. Also app crashes are frequent on this device. This is really disappointing as it is a beautiful device. I want to upgrade to the new P20 pro but worried about software problems

Same, been using the Mate 10 Pro for a month with nova launcher. Never had a single crash or reboot.
Never had issues with notifications, messages or calls. No complaints here.

I was speaking about using Nova Launcher on mate 10 (non-pro) without issue. I use the default dialer now with a dark theme, but for a while I was using the Asus ZenUI Dialer and Contacts app which worked just fine for me. I do not use widgets at all.

Thanks, I am using the same dialer, but, I want the google's... Don't know why I can not use it, maybe an Emui limitation.

Launchers

Hello everyone, I’m back in the Android family again and I see a lot has changed in the last 3 years. I went into the playstore and don’t see all of the apps I’ve purchased, and I’m assuming that’s because of Android OS compatibility. I was very happy to see some core apps I use were still there, but what happened to the launchers? The variety is nothing like it used to be. At one point in time, I had between 10 - 14 on my phone that were similar but also different for one reason or another. Thankfully Nova Launcher which is my number 1 pick is still available. I think Apex Launcher is also, sadly TSF Shell and Next Launcher are gone. I liked those, but I see Go Launcher is. Now I haven’t used that launcher in at least 7 or 8 years, because they began charging for things that used to be included for free. I remember when that was the top launcher and was worth using. The reviews I see are terrible to say the least. I tried to visit their website and got some message basically stating the site isn’t up as far as I’m concerned. What is going on here, and what could they possibly be selling for an in app purchase for $109? I would never spend that kind of money for an in app purchase. Are there any other good launchers available that I’m missing? I saw a couple of launchers that were based on Windows Desktop layouts, and a MAC OS layout.
Launcher choice
I didn't like how the stock launcher only gave you only a few applications to choose from on the top screen when you were in 'T' mode. I played around with Nova Launcher and changing the options to auto rotate seems to work pretty well. Let me...

Microsoft Launcher seems to also work well with the Wing.
You will lose the Carousel Apps though in swivel mode.
But it seems to take care of the 5 second delay that KLWP has when launching Apps from the Home Screen.
Nova also takes care of that though
Wow that looks good. Is that KLWP also? I haven't played around with a build your own widget since UCCW.

Yes, mainly KLWP. Not really a widget but an entire theme built using KLWP.
It's a fairly steep learning curve, but works well on the Wing

I switched to Nova to play around with KLWP, because I am not entirely sure if Win-X Launcher (NO ADS) is compatible. Its either that, and/or I really just don't know what I'm doing yet. I plan to learn more about to use it this weekend.
I use Total Launcher and have for years. It gives you a blank palette to place any widget, any icon, anywhere. Allows for windows with swipe actions. Use of any icon pack in the play store. Mix and match icon styles. Completely customizable. Works with KLWP and KWGT. Has Tasker plugins.
Overall, IMO its more freedom to customize than any other launcher. You be the judge. Happy Launching...

Get/use a custom launcher like Nova launcher -So much easier to customize and so many more features.

This is really bothering me. I dont want a 3rd party launcher, the launcher is fine except for that stupid search bar. Also I had many problems with 3rd party launchers in the past, and I'd rather keep the stock one which is tailored to the Pixel 6 series.

surprised someone finds 3rd party launchers like nova buggy
nova hits 10years old in december and its been pretty solid since forever

The beauty of Nova is, you can run both launchers, customize each as you like and switch between the two on-the-fly.
Infinite scrolling, custom bottom bar, multiple grid layouts...
When I get my P6P (today in theory) I will load all my apps from the Play store and restore my Nova backup. BOOM! my new phone will look and function exactly like my old phone... only bigger and cooler.

I had never heard of the MS launcher, or maybe never really given it any mind. I looked at it yesterday after you mentioned it and it looked awful. I really hate the tiles and the forced news that I could care less about... too much work to make it what I wanted.

Then you're missing out IMHO.
There is nothing "wrong" with the Pixel launcher per se, as long as you don't care that Google, like Apple, dictates how you interact with your phone; but, if you want to customize your phone to your liking, a custom launcher is the only way to go.
Nova has been rock-stable for a long time and has a myriad of great features, most of which are free.
ƒ
+1 for Nova.
Nova is my launcher of choice.
It has been for a decade or so now.
I've tried many others but always come back to it.
Sometimes I use Action Launcher or will try something new but again always come back to Nova, which I am actively using on my new Pixel 6 (received it yesterday) as I find the stock launcher extremely lacking in features - haven't suffered a single launcher related performance or stability issue for a very long time, including on my P6.
I don't like having an app drawer or icons / widgets cluttering up my home screen so I assign gestures to launch specific frequently used apps such as Chrome and YouTube and for Nova's integrated "app search", which also displays other recently used, newly installed or frequent apps in tabs separate from the search bar.
I have a single Google "At A Glance" widget
and use the Maxelus Galaxy Pack Live Wallpaper app for additional personalisation and because I'm a nerdy space cadet.
+2 Nova. Double tap to lock gesture is something I have implemented for years and the customization is endless.

Wait, what's Nova Companion? I just put the Google icon on my home screen so I could tap it to get to the Google interface, but a left-swipe would be way cleaner...

A little late to the party. Always used Lawnchair launcher on my Pixel3. Just got my P6 a few days ago and upgraded to Lawnchair again. Seems pretty stable on Android 12. I add Lawnfeed to enable Google feed left-swipe. Lawnchair is pretty similar to Pixel launcher except you can customize much more than stock (ie, disabling the bottom search bar).
