Hi
Its been 5 years that i have not used my Samsung galaxy s3, because i did some rooting thing and i was broke . Now after 5 years i have found my Galaxy s3 under a drawer and i seriously want to use it again.
Info i have -- 1) Model number - GT-I9300
2) Andriod Verson - 4.1.1
3) Baseband Version - Unknown
4) build Number - JRO03C.I9300XXDLH6
5) Kernel Version - 3.0.31-61691
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Aug 21 00:06:17 KST 2012
6) IMEI- Null/ Null
7) ServiceMode - Empty (blank Screen with servicemode written on the top)
I have read few posts from here and there and tried doing the servicemode thing but i was unable to do any thing as my servicemode screen was blank.
when i type *7465625*638*# It prompts me to "personalization" screen where it says " Network Lock MCC/MNC [Space to write] and Control Key [space to write]"
If some one can help that would be so great. I think i did a poor job in explaining. Please ask me what ever is required and ill get onto it.. But trust me i read most of the threads and was unable to understand what to do.
I did a factory reset to get that "servicemode" screen to work but it did not work
You're in the wrong forum This one is about the Tab S3, tablet and not phone... You're looking for this one:

Afternoon all.
I need some help. I have been searching forums all day trying to find a solution to my problem, but I'm just getting more confused. So please, if there is someone out there that can help, I would be grateful.
Bit of background. Yesterday, my phone was working correctly and when I went to make a call later in the day I had no network. When I tried to check the network settings, it stated "Insert SIM card to access network services".
When I checked Settings>About device the Baseband version is listed at "Unknown"
I read somewhere to try *#06#, which I did and it shows IMEI/MEID "null / null"
My phone is a Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 on UK Vodafone network, the rest of the phone info is as follows:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: Unknown
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 - 462349 [email protected] - 111 #3 SMP PREEMPT Tue Nov 6 02:42:23 KST 2023
Build Number: JZO54K.I9100XXlSJ
I have already tried the following:
1. Removed battery, waited 10 minutes, rebooted - Failed.
2. Wiped data and factory reset - Failed.
3. Installed a completely new version of 4.1.2 from HERE - Failed.
4. I have also tried my SIM card in my misses GT-I9100 and it works fine, so it's a handset issue.
I am at a loss of what else to try.
Can ANYONE help me, please!!!
Thanks in anticipation.
Pete.
If you've never 'messed with' the phone (rooted it or run non-stock firmware), send it in for warranty service if your warranty is still good. Trying something that could potentially bork that warranty & end up costing you money isn't worth it, and there's a fair chance they wouldn't work anyway unless you had an EFS backup which you wouldn't have if you've never rooted your phone.

The rom you linked to is the older leaked pre-public version of Sammy JB. You should try flashing the latest final public version from here.
You need to flash another modem ... Tell me if it works or not
Or try this

This has absolutely nothing to do with what the OP is looking for.
OP - It's not going to work for you anyway, unless you have an EFS backup from when you were on 4.1.1. Once you update to 4.1.2, the EFS partition changes and does not allow the free methods to unlock the phones. Downgrading alone will not solve this, which is why you need the older backup. Without this, you will just need to purchase a code from a respected vendor.

Do the baseband and IMEI still display in the About Phone section in Settings? What message do you get when you input the foreign SIM card?

Hi,
I purchased a MT6575 S4 Clone from abroad.
I noticed that with supplied IMEI number restricted access changed message would appear and there would be no connection to my UK mobile network.
Afters pending numerous hours researching and failed attempts to change to change from GSM to WCDMA only - even using apps such as mobileuncle etc.
I changed the IMEI number to another S4 clone I purchased and this appeared to have temporarily resolved the problem.
It connected to my UK mobile network and the phones voice calls etc worked.
However 24 hours later I noticed that every 3 minutes or so it would revert back to restricted access changed message and no network and then back again to the mobile network.
I don't want to have to keep entering new IMEI numbers every 24 hours or so for the mobile to work.
Although I noticed the other S4 clone appears to do something with auto generates new IMEI numbers by itself.
Can someone help me resolve this with a permanent fix please?
I would be willing to install a new firmware etc if basic instructions are provided which include backing up?
Ideally keeping the workable S4 theme and features.
I did briefly try MTKdroidTools and backing up did not appear to work on there.

I have a blank IMEI. I was running CM 12.1 and then I went back to the stock ROM thinking that would work. I tried to get into the service mode via the keypad but it's blank. I do not have the proper cables to connect my phone to my PC.
