Is there any reason I cannot use my old Samsung wall charger as a spare or my Samsung car charger on a Reno 10x Zoom? I realise I won't get VOOC speeds but is it safe?
Of course it's safe, you can take whatever charger you want.

Can the charger bundled with the Galaxy S4 'fast charge' other phones, or is it something to do with the phones/batteries themselves that allow the quick charging? I heard that the charger charges at 2amp as opposed to 1amp like most chargers. I dont want to explode someones phone battery because it cant handle being charged that fast, lol

im using an aftermarket car charger with a random micro usb and it charges just as fast...i think its the phone/battery that allows fast charging
Using a 2A charger on an older phone won't hurt the phone. The phone will only draw 1A or however much current it's setup for, even if the charger is capable of delivering more.
Other devices will pull the full 2A from the charger if they can detect that the charger is of the right type to deliver it. Different chargers tell the device that in different ways. Apparently, Apple tablet chargers put a certain voltage across the data pins. Samsung high current chargers supposedly put a different voltage across the data pins. That is how the phone or tablet can tell what kind of charger it's connected to, so they will know whether to pull 2A, 1A, or 500mA (or whatever).
Hi!
I have a doubt, these type of USB-C --> USB-C charger can charge the S8+ quickly than the original charger provided with the device?
http://www.sony.com.sg/electronics/portable-charger-accessories/cp-ad3
I know that S8+ is not use the USB-C charging protocols and use Samsung AFC, because this my doubt if buying this will be a improve or only a waster of money.
Thanks!
I doubt that charger will be any faster than the Samsung provided charger.
Thanks, I get one to make some test. I install the Ampere app, I donĀ“t know if this app is a nice measure tool, but is almost the same that original charger, also a bit faster. Original in test charger session show in the Ampere app a max of 990mA, and this Sony 1020-1100mA on different sessions on both.
I'm cool with the stock charger. I'm not trying to make my phone explode and burn my house down. I'll stick with Samsung's recommendation. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Original Samsung charger will charge your device at 9v whereas the Sony charger will only charge at 5v, however the new USB c standard allows 3A charging so the power you get from both chargers will be very similar. I use both types of charger and find it hard to find much difference in charge times. Ampere can't be used accurately as it's only showing the charge current not voltage and you need both to calculate power and compare the 2 accurately.
current default charger kinda suck, it charge slow and I loss charge while gaming. I tried using a 2.1A charger to no avail, so anyone knows a way to charge faster? I know samsung still stuck on qc 2.0, but I hear of power delivery charger, does it work on S9? or does the cable influence anything?

I use a AC power supply that came with a moto 2z force charger from a Motorola I had prior to this S9. It works really well. As far as I can tell it is Model SC-22 SPN5970A it auto selects and charges at 5v-3A or 9v-1.6A or 12v-1.2A. It switches between voltages, I guess from the demand of the phone battery requirements. I hope this helps. IDK how you go about finding one.

thanks for the suggestion, but my exynos version doesn't support QC3.0. my only hope now is to buy a cheap PD-charger and pray it doesn't become a note 7.
I was given a RavPower 45W type c charger to test and I'm super impressed with it. I did have to did out the C adapter that was packed with the phone since it's a C charger but I believe it will charge just about anything. They claim it's compatible with Ultra-Compact Compatible MacBook, Dell Xps 15 13, iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch, iPhone Xs XR X and a dozen more.. It chargers my phone without the phone overheating and it's just as fast or faster than the orginal charger. It's only about a half inch thick so it fits nicely behind my nightstand. Would I personally buy it? At $55 it's on the steep side but if I wanted to charge anything in the house including my laptop then I guess it would be worth it.
I have this belkin wireless charger
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M5JEUYE?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title
I place the phone on it without a case and a red light turns on which means it's not accepting a charge but it detects something. Is my wireless charging busted on my phone or is it the wireless charger?
Went and bought this one.

Gonna use the wall adapter that came with my phone and see if it works.
If there is anything I can do with the Belkin one, please let me know. Otherwise I'll return it. Btw I'm running stock Oreo on this phone. 8.0.0 20r (old stock firmware for bootloader unlock purposes. Gotta get on that.)
Needs to have a QC 3.0 wall adapter plugged into it for it to work with our phone.
I have the bigger version of that OMARS charger. Don't expect the full 15w. The 15w "fast wireless charging" is a retarded feature that doesn't work because of thermal throttling.
Just buy the Anker Powerwave. It's on sale right now with code ANKER002
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...6e3530149c00INT&_encoding=UTF8&tag=slickdeals
Despite it only maxing out at 10W, it has an internal fan so it actually charges faster than the OMARS pad.
Go figure

Ankers website states that the LG V30 will only charge at 5w with this wireless charger. Not a bad deal but I would like 10w charging at least.

I actually just got the Anker Powerwave, and for some reason it won't charge at all using their QC 3.0 AC adapter. It will only work with the QC 3.0 charger I have from ZTE for my Axon 7. No idea why.
I use the QC3.0 charger from Anker and a separate USB-C from Anker as well but I keep getting the notification of slow charging instead of going cable charging or fast charging.
Are there any workarounds to this aside from buying a wall adapter from them?

I use anker's powercore+ powerbank with qc3.0 port and no issues. Try to use original samsung cable. If you can try also samsung adapter. If it doesnt work, go to battery management and options, there will be fastcharge option you can disable or enable.
