[Q] Looking for an app that will store GPS location in "My Places" with Google Maps
I've been looking for an app that I can quickly launch (widget is even better!), grab my current location using GPS and save it to an existing layer in my google maps account. If I can also a label to the point that would be ideal. After googling awhile I found "My Maps Editor" but it looks like it got the ax at some point.
As far as I know, you can view "My Places" from google maps in the mobile version using layers, but can't edit them. Even if you could edit it, it'd be a hassle to load up the layer each time when I just want to mark a spot on the map quickly.
I know you can star locations, but I've been using My Maps/Places for awhile so I'm a little locked in at this point. Any suggestions? Thanks!

hello, for some days, I ask in the forum, but I can not get answers. I use stock XXEMA2 ITV original, only root, and I found that photo gps does not work for me, the photo shows longitude and latitude, but google maps does not find the address. The problem is google maps or gps photo? anyone else have this problem? 4.1.1 works. I hope someone can help me because I need to work. thanks to all who help me.

Can you be more specific on what you are doing? What do you mean Google Maps doesn't find the address? How are you entering it?
I had a similar problem with Picasa Web... then I discovered you have to enable read GPS tags in the Picasa settings.

when you take photo whit gps enable photo save longitude and latitude, if you go in your gallery photo and open photo gps there is option in menu open in map and whit navigator you can go where you have take photo ok. in official xxema2 itv no work for me. sorry for my english

I've a problem with google maps, i have a very good gps signal but when i start the navigation on google maps my location get frozen. When I'm only looking for a location and I'm driving it works well?

Anyone else experiencing this? As usual, when I open Maps I get a popup message saying that "To continue let your device turn on location using Google's location service...". In the past I would hit Cancel and I'm good to go. But now the message continues to popup continuously. I can't use Google Maps unless I turn on Location Services.
Uninstalling the update has been my solution so far. Ideas?
Not just me after all, Google Play store reviews for the latest version report the same.
Hey, I currently live in a country where Google does not provide turn by turn navigation on Google maps. The app itself is working fine and is very accurate, the only thing missing is the "navigate" button when entering a destination. While I'm aware that Waze in available and does have navigation, I prefer Google maps because it syncs better with all the Google Services I use daily and is just a more pleasing app to use imo.
I know it's a stretch but is there a hack of some kind to activate navigation even if Google is still refusing to support the area?
