Ok Google lock screen detection - Nokia 7.1 Questions & Answers

Hey everyone, just got my first Nokia after HMD took over. I updated everything to latest and greatest but cannot get the "ok google" to come on when the phone is sleeping. I had Essential phone and this phone looks and works the same in every way except that.
Have gone through all the help forums and reset google app and re-downloaded assistant app, but nothing works. Is it the SD 636 processor?
Any help is appreciated. thanks

[Q] "ok google" voice activation doesn't work (nor does OpenMic+!)

Hi xda! (been awhile since I last was here...)
I seem to have a problem with my Ultra (C6833), Android version 4.4.4 (official), not rooted, just plain stock Nordic rom via OTA. But using Google Now Launcher.
I can't seem to make "ok google" work with voice only. The settings -> input -> voice search -> "ok Google" detection -> From any screen -page doesn't register my voice *at all*, nothing happens on that screen. Also on any launcher screen or Google Now, saying "ok google" doesn't have any effects what so ever. When I manually click on the mic icon on any of these pages, Google now works perfectly and most of the time I don't have any trouble it understanding me (not native English speaker).
I tried installing OpenMic+ and tried that, but almost the same happens with that. It works when the actual OpenMic+ program is open, but NOT when it is in the background.
The same settings DO work on my Note 8.0 just fine, and the mic works on the Xperia when making calls (or after clicking the mic icon, voice search works fine). So what gives?
if you still need help with this first make sure your play services google (search or now whichever u decide to call it)play store an gmail are up-to-date last two may not be necessary not i an others have had issues when not once thats done clear cache an data in apps section under settings for Google an play services
Oh, thanks and yeah, haven't gotten it to work. I forgot to clear the caches, silly me. I did check that everything is up to date. I'll try clearing caches.
Ok everything is up to date and clearing the cache still doesn't do it this should be magic goto Google now go to settings go go to voice go to offline speech recognition set auto update to always over data or WiFi go and download UK English language for offline once it's done go back to the installed tab press and hold English UK the selected close Google now open it back go back in that same section and press and hold English us language to select it now try your okay Google

yes i know but the switch to uk an then switching back is what works
EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND! SEE BELOW
I'm having the exact same problem with my Xperia Z2.
Any further advice would be amazing. I'm running Android 4.4.4 and read that some apps can interfere with 'ok google', but I can't track down this problem.
Changing languages doesn't seem to help (I tried Australian in the past). Can someone confirm the above worked? I'm running on limited data plan here and would like to avoid recklessly using it up ;(
EDIT: After browsing for a few hours a few days ago looking for a solution, just after writing this post, THAT article showed up. And 'ok google' works now!
http://ausdroid.net/2014/05/08/fix-google-now-voice-commands/
It was LastPass accessibility service running in background! After turning it off, 'ok google' works now
For the record, to this day I haven't been able to make it work on my Xperia. It works perfectly on my Galaxy Note 8.0 and my HTC One M7, but for the life of me, I have not been able to get it to work on this Sony device. It keeps working the same as always - works perfectly with manual activation, but I cannot get the "Ok Google Detection" to do ANYTHING. (the page where it asks you to say "ok google" three times to "learn" your voice). It just does nothing, it does not register my voice at all on that page.
So glad found this post!
dark_skeleton, you are my HERO!
I couldn't find a solution for this problem for around 4 month!
I was already thinking that there is a hardware problem in my phone,
and just for the chance of succession checked Google again, and SO GLAD I DID!
I used 'OK Google' detection on a daily basis!
In my case, the problem was the application "Informer for SmartWatch".
It was using an accessibility service and blocked the voice recognition.
AnttiV, try going to the accessibility menu and check what services there are external (not pre-installed by Sony).
Seems like it really helps!
Thanks again dark_sekeleton!!
Another app, which is making problems with "Ok Google" is Smart Extension - Hangouts.

Yeah, it was that for me. I've been testing a week or so now without it and everything seems to be working fine. Sadly there's now no way to have hangouts on my SW2, which sucks. But the extension doesn't work with Lollipop anyway, so...
Time to upgrade to Android Wear / Apple Watch?

Google App went crazy.

Hello all,
I'm having a very weird problem with Google App since yesterday: suddenly, the upper Google bar is covered by Google Now cards, and it looks like this:
postimg.org/image/ad88n7kdt/
The weird thing is that "OK Google" command also doesn't work outside the application itself (inside it, it works just fine).
I really tried everything: reboot, reinstalling Google App in Safe Mode, clear application data, and so on - nothing helps.
My phone model is OnePlus One, running Cyanogen OS (12.1 - YOG4PAS1N0) based on Android 5.1.1.
Thanks a lot!
Anyone, please?
I will appreciate any kind of help.
Thanks!

Google play services restart every 10 seconds

Good day everyone first post here and really seeking some help to a headache i'm facing. I know it's long but please bare with me.
What is happening
So this all started when i was frustrated that i only have 80Mb of internal storage on my phone and every time i need to update whatsapp i need to uninstall it and install it again. I looked up some things i can do and what i found was SD maid and it worked really well, it removed junk files and log files to the point where i had 800Mb open i was smiling bright haha, i reinstalled whatsapp with no problem.....a little bit later my phone starts to vibrate every 10 seconds and then 3 seconds later another and this has been going on for the last day. I uninstalled whatsapp thinking that it may have caused this to happen in some way and then i noticed that it's not the cause, my phone is still vibrating and lagging so i checked my running apps and saw that google play services had two services, one running fine and then i noticed that the other one is restarting every 10 seconds, so every time my phone vibrates it restarts.
My setup
Samsung pocket android 2.3.6
Rooted
What i have tried:
First thing i did was cleared Play store and services cash and data and i also did the framework.
It didn't work so i uninstalled play store to factory default and uninstalled services as well, so then installed the latest version from apkmirror.
I also installed a older version just to make sure it's not the latest version that's having this problem.
Things i noticed
The service that get's restarted each time is: com.google.data.gms.persistence and when it's running it's name is google fit.
When i installed whatsapp again just to have it while my phone vibrates like this, i could not finish the install because i needed to authenticate my google drive ownership and it fails to do so because i think the service that handles the syncing is the one that's restarting
I do not know what to do about it because i have tired what i can think of, so if anyone has any idea what i can do i would incredibly appreciate it
Does anyone have any idea to what i can do? the only thing that i can think of is to reset the phone and that would suck
Hey all so after a whole day of trying to fix my phone i finally think i got it working.
So what i did was backup my phone's data and the factory reset my phone.....it was fine for a bit but when i needed to install google play services the problem came back, i downloaded it from the play store so there was no problem with that. So what fixed it for me was installing a much older version of the play services app (latest version is something like: 9.4.xx and the one i installed was 8.3.01) The older version does not make my phone vibrate and also my play store runs faster now as well.
At the end of the day i didn't need to factory reset my phone i just needed to install a much older play services. Hope this helps someone else in the future have a awesome day.

OK Google -OR- Android Auto, but not both

I am using a LeMax 2 running Lineage OS (14.1-20170503-Unofficial-x2). Everything is working very, very well. (please keep in mind, I'm coming from a Nexus 6, which had bad slowness and battery issues now, and I LOVED this phone!) However, I've run into a problem with "Ok, Google" and Android Auto.
If I update the Google App (I've tried both "normal" and beta) then it breaks the "OK, Google" hotword detection. I downgrade, and it works fine. I have Android Auto set to auto start when it connects to my bluetooth transmitter. If the Google app has been downgraded, Android Auto wants to update it, won't launch without it, and that always updates Google, breaking the hotword again.
I use both Android Auto and "Ok, Google" a lot, so I'd love to find a way to be able to use both. Any suggestions? I've tried downgrading Auto, and every combo I can think of with Google and AA, but I cannot get them to work at the same time.
ETA: I've since updated to the official Lineage OS, (the 05/19 Nightly) and still the same issue
ETA2: I did an uninstall updates. Version 7.1.29.21.arm64 com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox works fine with the hotword detection - until you open Android Auto. Then it stops altogether, even though it hasn't updated. This time, only one time, I got a toast message in Android Auto saying voice commands weren't available right now, but couldn't get it to do it again.
Delete...sorry

Could you please tell which Google app version do you have exactly? Mine is not working.

I've tried several different version from apk mirror and just "un-updating" what I had. I've tried a full factory reset, then installing the official LOS nightly listed above. I've compared the Google app version to the working version (both Android Auto and the Ok, Google hotword) on my Nexus 6, and gotten as close as possible to it, or even newer versions (apk mirror again, then flashing Gapps, arm 64 7.1 Stock from 05/23) I can get one or the other to work, but not both Ok, Google and Android Auto. I've tried turning voice control off, then back on. I've deleted and re-recorded my voice commands. I cannot figure out how to make this work. Until I get it figured out, I'm using my Nexus 6, but it's about to need retiring.

That's my point. All but the one I'm using now have worked with it...until it insists on an update to the most recent.
All I know is that 7.3.16.21.arm64 com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox doesn't work. I'm sorry, I don't know the version that worked for sure, as I did a full factory reset to try and fix the problem. I promise, I'm not trying to be difficult. I just didn't know it was going to happen or I'd have noted the version numbers.
I've also tried it with the SIM in, and with the SIM out. Not sure why that would have anything to do with it, but worth trying.
I think the problem is to do with google assistant which comes with the newer versions of the Google app (replacing Google Now)
For me it's only working when turning ok Google recognizing off. Turning it on didn't work. Sound curious but it's real. Dunno what's wrong here. Ok Google also only works on main screen when mobile is unlocked. Having another app in foreground it does not trigger.
I don't know if this behavior belongs to me max 2 or to Google app. Anyone else can confirm this problem?
Linage needs to fix this on there end. They need to create a working gapps install.

Emui 9/Android P bug - okay Google

Hi everybody,
So yesterday I updated to emui and Android 9. Today I had to discover that the "okay Google" feature doesn't work anymore. If I open the search manually or drag up from bottom screen corners it listens but I can't fire it up with saying "okay Google".
I checked the options in the phone and the ones in the Google app an both were deactivated but not grayed out. The problem is when I try to turn them on they get turned off automatically in less than a second.
I think it has something to do with huaweis assistant wich I don't want to use. Is speech activation now blocked or is it a bug?
BTW I actually own a mate 10 pro but I posted here because I don't know if the problem comes from Android or emui and because the 20 came to my knowledge shipped with the update but the 10 did not.
Please excuse my English I'm not a native speaker and thanks to everybody
I set mine up did the ok Google, hey Google steps. But when I tried to use it, it wasn't detecting my voice. After a bit of fiddling around I managed to get it working. Below is what I did.
Cleared cache and storage
Disabled App
Enabled App
Downloaded update from playstore
Reboot
Setup voice detect
Retrained voice.
Tested it worked several times
Rebooted
Test again still works
Genuine question, why do you all use this feature? What uses does it have? I just pick up my phone to do what I need to do. I'm just curious, might even give me a reason to use it lol

It's a known problem since 6 months by Google on many many many devices
I just started a thread on this... It seems to me like the new Pie permissions are an issue and one of the coders didn't get the memo that now you need to make Google app or Assistant a Trusted Agent to unlock your phone. Been trying things for days to get this working.... Such a piss off. Especially when I'm driving and I need to say Ok Google, take me to the closest Home Depot. Gfs frustrating
Edit: if I get a ticket for holding my phone... I'm gonna blame it on Google
