Thanks, I finally took it off but used a little force, felt like I was going to bend it lol.
I got my moto 360 v2 today. The quick guide says "...remove the plastic film from the back of the watch and charge...". On my brandnew moto 360 v2 there was just a plastic film on the front which could be removed easily. But the backside just looks like glass without "plastic film".
Questions:
Is there a plastic film on the back?
If yes, how to remove it?
Or is quick guide just wrong?
Maybe a stupid question... But i don't want to scratch backside trying to remove a "plastic film" which is not there

Mine did not have too, please don't try to remove a slice of glass
my watch did have it. I missed that part of the instructions and found out what happens if you don't remove the film. if you don't remove it, the watch either fails to charge or does so super slowly....
I remember removing mine like three days after i got it.
I also have this doubt
Mine did have one and it's very easy to see. This is what it looks like.
Hm, not on my watch... On front yes but nothing on back.
Mine came in a Motorola tape sealed box and no back film in sight. Just the front film.
Mine had it. It was impossible to see and hard to find an edge to pull it off, but I finally got it to lift a bit and was able to pull it off. I'm betting it's there and you just don't see it yet.
My Moto 360 Sport had it. There was a bubble in mine so it was easy to see but otherwise without this thread if it was on perfectly i certainly could see how people wouldn't know. It is tricky to remove.
This is sad, trying to identify that dammit plastic, I mistaken and took a bit the plastic back part using a little hole in the back. Don't do it, you are going to open the rear side of the clock and letting the circuits open.
Motorola should be more explicit about the dammit plastic.
Anyone knows of a case for the S7 that can used with the Gear VR without having to remove the case? I have the Luvvit Clear Case and even though it is relatively thin, it has to be removed to get the S7 to plug in the Gear VR.
Same thing for the screen protector, even with the case removed, plugging the phone in the VR presses against the screen protector (amFilm Glass, which is crap) and pushes it up by about a cm. Anyone tried to use the VR with a screen protector as well?
Also, the amFilm Glass protector has the dot matrix on it and those really ruin the Gear VR experience as they are highly visible. I'd imagine all glass protectors that have the dots will be the same.
I thought this would fit well with VR but it seems it doesn't fit:

I have just ordered this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262356976716
Hoping it will fit in VR:fingers-crossed:
I took a sharp pocket knife and chipped away the 2 tiny plastic bumps within the connector on the VR headset that's supposed to help guide the phone into the usb I believe. My screen protector, without case, glass or ArmorSuite kept getting snagged by these 2 lil bumps. Fits perfect now with the screen protector with no catch.
Look in attached photo, circled in blue, for what I'm talking about.

I consider to cut that plastic parts cos phone doesn't fit Gear VR with tempered glass. If I cut these 2 plastic part, does phone still fit toughly in Gear VR and stays stable when I turn head when Gear VR is on?

Yes. Fits great. I am using thinnest tempered glass screen cover and it still stays stable with rubber stoppers. To be honest, it's still a bit tighter than I would like. It still will push the A-B slider as I insert it unless I manually hold it in place. No negatives for me cutting the rubber stoppers flush.

So you are all removing the rubber bump from the connector?
Do you guys have any problem with the front of the screen, near the Samsung logo? I have noticed a mark on my screen protector around the Samsung logo. May be it is created when the phone is installed and something is pushing towards the logo? Anyone having this problem? Or is just my screen protect not being of good quality?
I've noticed some small scratched at the top of my phone above the speaker
Kept wondering where they came from and then realized that's where the phone inserts into the Gear VR

You have a scratch? You didn't install a screen protector? Or did you still get that scratch with the screen protector on?

The screen protector doesn't cover that area. It's a PET 1 pice and stops at the sensors/camera/speaker and the scratches are right above the speaker near the edge of the glass

The plastic of the GearVR shouldn't scratch the glass. The gorilla glass is much harder (on the rockwell scale).

I cut it and it worked, thanks sir:good:
I insert my phone at an angle into the Gear VR so to prevent the rubbing you guys are describing. I lift up the lever that holds the phone in, insert phone in an almost upright position, and push it down into the level/clip. No sliding is involved and works for me.

Are you saying it fits now with a case on? Or just with a tempered glass protector?
How bout with the s7 edge + this beetle pro full protection version.. does removing the bumpers make both fit without removal.. curious? Anyone tried?
Just curious if anyone has any experience with 3m adhesive on frosted glass like the OP6T or pixels, and if it can damage the coating if you have to remove it. Thanks!
I put the 3M magnetic adhesive on my OP3. It never really worked well. However, on my OP5 I always just put it in my case. I do the same thing with the 6T with the included case.

I have one on my 3T with no issue, but I'm concerned about it damaging the frost coating on the 6T. Putting it inside the case facing the phone may make that situation worse than just trying to apply directly to the phone I would think.

That's why I installed a dbrand skin first, then stuck the metal plate directly on the inside of the case. I use the case when I'm going out, otherwise no case, keeps it slim and protected.

Not a bad idea, but I'd be curious about the same thing--can the adhesive damage the frost? Maybe I should Google what dbrand uses...

I don't think it would damage anything, but you never know. I've wrapped my last 4 phones, never a scratch, opo3, pixel, lg v30 and now the 6t. Keeps them mint for resale.
my metal plate had a hard time adhering to my silk white oneplus 6. Had to put a skin on it for the plate to stick.

Seems this may be my best option to guarantee it works, or getting a Spigen ring that doubles as a magnet plate.
Nillkin makes a case with magnetic plate embeded into the case. I currently use it for my OP5, ideal IMHO

Slightly better grip,I suppose.
I'd rather see a return to the OG 1+1 Sandstone finish, but, seems OnePlus feels they have to " Keep up with the Jones' " to grow/stay relevant.

I attached one of the Spigen car mount metal plates to the outside of the case that came with the OnePlus 6T and leave it in my car. Any time I'm in my car for an extended period and want to use the car mount I switch my sandstone case for the one with the metal plate.
For those curious, the plate sticks fine. Hopefully it doesn't damage anything, but doesn't feel like it will.
Didi you experience any damage caused by having a magnet on the back of your device? (i.e. compass not pointing the right direction or damage with camera)
I've used magnetic car holders and a metal plate stuck on the back of my case for about 2 years and i didn't notice any serious damage..
But having a magnet on the back of your phone will mess with GPS antenna.
I always experienced GPS signal loss(not often). But it did happen, also it messes with your compass.
I installed my metal plate on the frosted glass case. And it adhered perfect. But chose to get another type of car holder.
It's better to use a "self locking l" car phone holder.
Trust me the magnet gimmick can be avoided, there is way better solutions that won't mess with your hardware

dbrand uses 3M adhesive. Should be fine.
Honestly thinking about opening up the phone and placing a metal plate over the battery because of the lack of wireless charging. So you can't see the plate ever lol
[ Nillkin 3D CP+ MAX ]
I've decided to get this screen protector as their cases are great. They have multiple styles, but i've decided to get the most expensive one because why not
So far:
- the finger print sensor still recognized my prints and is still fast, i have rescanned them anyways.
- the glass is curved and because it adds a thickness, it mades the gestures easier with my case that as lips on the front.
- the notification light is less visible as it's now 3mm below the black glass and the cutout is narrow
- the glass seems to retain prints and grease more but it's easy to wipe the screen.
UPDATE : Dust is getting inside the screen protector where the camera is, so your selfies are unusable, its a big drawback, i have cleaned it 2 times and placed it correctly but dust is still comming. I suggest getting a screen protector with a camera cutout.
[ IBY Wind Tempered glass ]
Their website were giving giving them free to review it, so here's my review ?
It comes with a plastic frame to ease the installation of the screen protector. There are 2 screens in the box.
The installation was the fastest I've done. No dust, no air bubble.
The screen does not cover all the front of the phone and the corners don't have the same radius as the display radius, so it's not very elegant.
Now the bad : the glass is foggy and grainy, not clear at all. It makes the display looks like from a budget phone from 2010
I don't recommend it.
Oh, and it comes with a skin for the back, which is great.
UPDATE : it's unreadable in sunlight because of the grain and rainbow effect...
pictures
[ Nillkin XD CP+ MAX ]
My last acquisition, and hope the last one..
It has all the goods of the 3D CP+ max but with the flaws fixed: the notification led and front camera are no more under the glass :good:
I really like the curved borders, they make the navigation gestures easier.

I actually prefer the H+pro Nillkin tempered glass . CP+ is nice i just prefer the H+...cant go wrong with either
Nice! I got myself the Nilkin H+ Pro which doesn't fully cover the front screen. Mine cracked already in just two drops
One question, does the stock casing still fits?
Mine is XD cp+ MAX. Btw my tempered glass a little bit more to right side. I saw from my front camera. Can i remake it again? Already 1 week

I've had a similar screen protector for my Mi A2, when using the front camera, lens flares appeared when the light was comming from an angle, black borders negate that, and it looks like i have no screen protector, as it match perfectly with the black bezels of the phone.

I am using Nillkin XD CP+ Max, and has a hole so it doesnt cover front camera. And the led notif space is larger.
Up to 1 hour after applying tempered glass, you can still readjust it or remove the dust inside glass with its dust removal paper or duct tape. So check carefully if you get new ones..

You do not seem to understand what that product is.
But it does not work, I tried a few of those aftermarket oleophobic coatings and liquid protectors, they are kind of crap.
What do you say about this glass ...? It has a recommended cutout, including an installation adapter.
