Today when I was building cm9 rom I got message:
Using prebuilt kernel binary instead of source
THIS IS DEPRECATED, AND WILL BE DISCONTINUED
Please configure your device to download the kernel
sorce repository to kernel/samsung/galaxys2
See http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Integrated_kernel_building
for more information
The instruction on the webiste is not that clear...
Anyone could give advice how to to that?
I answered this in the CM9 thread, but in case anybody looks here and misses that, they are implementing a new feature to build kernels as part of the CM9 build process, at present the SGS2 git changes that would be required for this are in the CM9 gerrit review and have yet to be approved, this will not affect your build in the slightest and once the files are approved this message will disappear. If you want to cherry pick it before it gets approved, you can but doing so may have unintended consequences (thus the need for review).
Hello all.
I`m an LG l60 user and I want to create a 3.10 kernel for this device. I have the two variations of a source code of 3.10 for mt6572. You can download it from this place: https://yadi.sk/d/MZayU70qmJifo , or if you have trouble with it, just tell me and I`ll upload it to another location. So, what the trouble: after compiling kernel and preparing it to use in recovery, almost all things are working, but touchpanel will not. It don`t starts and I think, that it caused by a KnockOn function, that was included by LG in previous versions of an android kernel, that I have used to prepare kernel for compiling. I`m sure, that it possible to force it work, cause one guy was made it, but for now I can`t connect with him. So I`m searching for help anywhere. Please, help me and other users, cause it`s only one way to bring lollipop on this device. Thanks.

Hello Dear guys / Devs,
Oneplus updated their kernel source here:
https://github.com/OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8994/tree/oneplus/6.0.1
We can expect to get new custom roms to be stable. don't know how much time it will take to merge this new changes, but let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hello guys,
I created this thread because I want to build a custom kernel for Moto E 2015 4G (surnia) for personal use.
the problem is that I want to build a kernel based on Android 7.1.0, but the only kernel built specifically for this device is for Android 5.1.
There is a "general" kernel from Motorola based on Android 7.0.0 and lots of other devices' kernels with android 7.1.1 and 8.0.0 kernels. In general, it seems to me quite complicated...
It is difficult for me, as it is the first time I'll build a custom kernel, to find out the right source code to begin with.
If you are experienced and know which source code is suitable for my device, and ways to improve the kernel, you can reply to this thread or send me a PM.
Thanks in advance.
