Anybody have full stock AT&T LG V30? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Anybody have full stock AT&T LG V30?
I’m trying to get full stock dump from LGUP.
I can’t find full factory restore rom anywhere.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Do you mean a dump from H931? I actually do have that - I think it was a Nougat level OS, though. It's what I had on the phone before I Frankensteined it to VS996.
I also seem to have an H931 20H flashable zip.

Do you have full stock 20H?
I only found H93120d.rar dump.
Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk

I believe the 20H was downloaded from here, so it's likely a TWRP update, not something you can do from LGUP. The dump was from LGUP, so you could (theoretically) reflash that, but I don't know how that works. Like I said, I took the dump before frankensteining it (just in case)... but I never needed it.

Which dump u have? 20D?

I don't know exactly... I think it was Nougat, but I don't remember. If there's a way for me to find out from the dump, I'm happy to look... just tell me what I'm looking for?

Ok. Any suggestions on where to post it? Happy to do it, I just don't have a place I normally use...
EDIT: I use Firefox and noticed there is Firefox Send there, if that helps... (never used it, but can work with you to figure it out).

You can upload it to Google Drive. It gives you 15gb free.

PM sent, let me know when you're done downloading it so I can remove it.
If you figure out what version it is, and/or how to flash it, please do let me know... I'm curious. Thanks!

Nougat would be 10-something (10a - 10d or so), whatever you had on the phone before you Frankenstein'ed.

Yeah, I just don't remember what it was before Frankensteining... I thought I took a screenshot, but I can't seem to find it now. Probably deleted it since I don't need it any longer (because my conversion to VS996 was fine and successful).

Waiting for Android 6.0 Root

This is the new thread for waiting for root for Android 6.0.
Currently we have 5.1.1 rooted and people are just waiting for them to release root again for us.
If anyone is creating early bounty's for this than you can let me know and I will add them to the top of the thread.
I'll put up $20 for MM root.
I'll put up $5, it's all I can really spare.
i really wasnt looking for root on 5.1, i think verizon had to hurry up and put Marshmallow out because of root
I'll pledge $20. Gave up root for mm and regretted it rather quickly.
Root will only get easier now that it's been accomplished.

If @tungkick or someone cracks the bootloader for 11b, or does something like done on the G3 with the bump method, we should then bee able to get twrp flashed and custom roms flashed so we won't have to worry about cracking vzw's 22a at all. We could then flash any rom we'd want, including marshmallow roms. Am I right in this thought process? And those that are on 22a would just have to downgrade to 11b using lgup refurbish mode.

It didn't work for me. Gave me an error message saying something like TOT Anti-rollback enabled. Even though it didn't roll back, it showed my software status as modified in the phone settings. Had to reflash the mm kdz today to get the software status back to official.

I pledge $25 for bootloader bump with that we can flash a modified version of marshmallow. But will take root on MM also so $20 on that also. Count me in.

Root idea ATT G5

Has anyone tried using send_command to flash the LAF partition to BOOT (for backup sakes.. Need to be able to revert), after backing up to sdcard obviously, then flashing TMOBILE LAF to LAF partition. Rebooting the device again to download, now fastboot and oem unlocking? I was able to get this working on my old G3, I just got stuck in fastboot due to lg not having an official unlock tool (now available). From there TWRP could be flashed, and then root! After flashing the stock boot of course!!
Seriously!? Nobody responded!???? Maybe post this in the G5 Q&A????

No, and honestly I don't think there will be. AT&T has locked this device down, and I mean locked it down HARD. If AT&T will release a tot or kdz then maybe we could get root, as someone could just make a pre-rooted system of the tot or kdz (right, guys?) but until (or if) they release it, I don't think there will be root. I would be willing to test for some things if I knew I could just flash back to stock if things go wrong but right now I can't, so I'm not willing to test for anything as I don't have the money to just go purchase another device if this one bricks.

You are kind of on the right path, but there is no way to just "flash" the t-mobile LAF partition. There are too many security variables that you need to find a work-around for, along with trying to find a way to get it onto your device.
Another thing is that THE SEND_COMMAND DOES NOT WORK ON THE G5. This has been talked about on many other threads, and it doesn't work.

As far as I know LG Bridge is disabled for LS998. I have a Sprint V30+ and have yet to get it to connect to my phone. Could be a user end error on my part but I have seen others report that it is disabled from carriers.

I would guess it would be less work for them. Figure they receive the firmware from LG and then put all there bloat and crap on it and then send the ota vs sending it back to LG to most likely upload to there server. It's been a while since I've been on a non nexus device so I coluld be wrong but either way the slow updates compared to google suck. Guess I got spoiled

it CAN be done by choosing PARTITION DLL in LGUP, and then select all to flash. Format data when you get stuck on LG logo or encounter Android down on first boot. Then the system will boot normally. The Oreo for AS998 also CAN be flashed that way. Comfirmed with a few user friends.

He's telling you how to convert your phone to an AS988 and have Oreo. The AS988 has a public KDZ not being kept secret like the LS988.
Are you actually using Sprint? Most people on here -- for reasons I don't understand at all -- buy problematic Sprint phones but don't actually use Sprint as their carrier.

I would assume you could just copy the build.prop from the VS996 phone's rom and just overwrite the US998's build.prop, then change the permissions to rw,r,r. It's worked for me on Euro roms to get Sprint's LTE bands back.
It may be possible but why do you want to do so? The rest of the fw will still be us998 and as it is all network/radio functions should work properly..
You can find the modems, etc. in the backup dump you made in LG UP during the frankenprocess (if you made one) and then just repackage as a twrp installable.

I finally replaced the US998 build.prop with the VS996 build.prop. (tried it once before, but I just realized I had never fixed the file permissions to 0644 rw-,r--,r--)
I get the same "contacts has stopped" error. Solved that with a different dialer app.
Still getting the "Unfortunately, Hidden Menu has stopped" error once on boot. No idea what that is about.
Everything else seems to work. Phone reports as VS996.
Hoping somebody can get Verizon's voicemail app to work.

Well if this works then it's way easier
I'll try it when I flash back to this rom
I flashed the modem.bin. I had my phone working fine, just was hoping for better service on vzw. I felt my samsung was much better in areas. I will see if it helps, or lg just has crap radios
EDIT>>>> I now only can get lte only, or cdma only. It doesn't switch automatically. Anyone have a flashable modem for the us variant? I think the issue is there are more than one modem.bin files
OK< I extracted the modem.bin from the kdz from the us fw. I have lte and cdma back
New edit....I extracted the modem.bin from latest vs996 kdz. Flashed it, everything is working as it should. The baseband did change, so I'm hoping for better service on vzw.

Which VS996 kdz did you use? The latest I have is VS99620b_03_0312_ARB00.kdz
Link to a later version, please?
Thanks.

I'm trying to locate the app you used. Also if you could explain what steps you did. Thank you.
