amazfit GTR 47mm probably bricked... - Amazfit

Dear all , just to share my issue (to reduce the risk for others to have the same ..) and maybe find somebody providing me some suggestion
after more than one month of use and having more problems than usual to have a GPS localisation ,
the watch is now always showing the message : Please open the App, and select "check for update" on the watch device page to continue the update"
Unfortunately , even if the watch is BT visible , BT paired , it is not any more visible to AMAZFIT nor to MI-FIT apps , and when I try to "find the watch" , after a while it appears a message : "connection impossible, please reset your watch and try again"
The watch does not show any menu , buttons are just reacting activating the display , even switching off and on the watch....but after few seconds of the logo " AMAZFIT"....again the message " Please open....." as wrote:
I believe it is lost.....but if some smart Guy has any suggestion , I'll try !!!

I played with notify&fitness several times changing FW, resources, GPS firmware, fonts etc. Never had any problems with my GTR even if "Please open the App, and select "check for update" on the watch device page to continue the update" message appeared. All I had to do was to renew update process again within notify&fitness app.

thanks for your comment, the problem here is the watch is not synchronized anymore with notify&fitness, so no way to repeat the update.....any other suggestion ??

I did the same thing and I have the same problem. That's because I was not even 24h with my amazfit gtr

I think, your firmware and your res are not the suite version together. Now you have to connect your GTR with Notify and Fitness and install a couple res and firm. After that I think your GTR will be ok.
If you need I will send you firmware and res (version: 1.3.4.05)

I found a solution my friends!!!!
1) turn off bluetooth
2) turn off the watch
3) Uninstall notify & fitness
4) uninstall amazfit
5) restart the smartphone
6) turn on bluetooth
7) install from google play the amazfit app
8) turn on the watch
9) the app finishes setting the watch

I followed step by step your precious instructions , but Amazit si not finding the GTR...; let me check if my situation is the same you had :
a)after step 6 , did you manually paired the GTR with the BT of the phone ?
b) was your watch , after the turn on phase, showing the message"Please open the APP........." or was showing other conditions ?

c) on the bottom of Amazfit app page , appears : " impossible to associate , RESET the watch "ù
the problem that there is no way , for me , to RESET !!! watch is not giving any option to reset , and no App talking with the watch !!

Well. The essential application is AMAZFIT.
I suggest trying another smartphone (I did this test and he recognized my GTR)
Another option would be to use the Mi Fit app. In this case, try using Mi fit to recognize GTR, then open amazfit.
I repeat: The key application is AMAZFIT. Do not freak out! If you do not brick your smartwatch, it will work again.

I'm thinking here: Try clearing your entire smartphone cache or use another device. you may need to force clock detection manually through the amazfit app

Thanks , your support is important !! but here it seems now clear to me that I need to find the way to perform an HARD RESET of the GTR ...Amazfit App seem to detect the GTR , but in the same time of the detection it appears the request of a RESET .....I was wondering who could know a way to generate an HARD reset with a combination of actions on the push buttons....or similar

If every other solution fails simply wait for the watch to discharge. It causes hard reset on mi bands so maybe for GTR too.

I was even looking how to put the watch in boothloader status ....Even for this....at the moment....no way .....

With me it was not necessary to do a hard reset. Once the app found GTR, it completed the installation. including already with the display always on feature. take it easy, explore the ways the app and watch connect. I'm afraid hard reset won't be easy. you might need to look for some amazfit-like apps like mi fit. I don't know what I could be doing wrong for not having done it yet, but don't despair. you don't bricker your gtr

thanks again , I appreciate your comments , it is thanks to these contributions I'm sure I'll find the way... !!
the problem is that the App does find the GTR , but REFUSE to connect , showing a popoup message with this TEXT ( approx) " Impossible to connect , your device need a factory reset - do it and try again " and the message ask me even to confirm to have " understood" ; this message is not the message that is delivered when the app is not finding ANYthing... ; effectively the Phone is finding the AMAZIT GTR and I can even PAIR the phone with the AMAZFIT GTR , but I do not find the way to obtain any communication with any app , so no way to perform any installation ......; I tried Amazfit app , M- FIT app , ...and so on
this is the why I'm looking to find the way to perform a factory RESET in a manual way ( not using any app because no APP is communicating with the watch !!)
The watch uis visible to the Bluetooth , I even can identify its MAC address : DC:B5:66:63:22:B5 but I do not know which app can connect to the GTR to let me perform the RESET
The phone is always showing the message " Please open the APP to ........perform the update" but not connecting==> no update !
Again, thanks again for any suggestion

I honestly can't think of an immediate solution. but I'll keep trying to help researching other solutions

[Q] Whatsapp stuck (again) on Initializing

Hello.
Due to some problems in my Smartphone (Android 4.0.3), I had to uninstall Whatsapp Messenger and reinstall it.
It was working perfectly before I uninstalled it.
But now, there is no way to have it working again. I should say I already have an active account till April 2014. So, I installed it both downloading from the Play Store and downloading from Whatsapp website. The result is the same:
1.- Once re-installed and being sure I have both phone line and wifi network, I start whatsapp.
2.- I accept the terms.
3.- Whatsapp ask me for my phone number. I introduce the same I always have: +34 abc de fx yz and OK
4.- Whatsapp discover the old databases and ask me if I want to recover messages from them. I answer yes, whatsapp tell me that 3.189 msgs are recovered.
5.- Whatsapp ask me for the profile details, photo and name. And the strange things start here:
5a.- It seems not having recognized my phone number, as it ask for my profile, that I feel it had to be known
5b.- In the name field, there is a number too similar to the one I introduced in 3.-, but NOT the same, no country code and the last 2 digits are zeroes: abcdefx00
5c.- By this time, no message, no phone call is received
5d.- No question about verify code is received.
6.- Anyway, I put my name in the profile name field and press NEXT
7.- Whatsapp goes to “Initializing, wait a moment ….” And nothing more…. It stay stuck there…. Non ending. Hours later, the only way to resume my phone is restarting the phone.
I already tried all the suggestions of the different forums: go without recover messages, download 2.8 and then reinstall with the most recent versión, download from market and then reinstall with the most recent from whatsapp website, erase the old databases.... Same result.
I found that last year there were similar problems that seemed to be due to whatsapp servers problems, and week ago also the verification server had also troubles... Could again be this the problem?
I am planning to do a "Factory reset" of my pone (HTC Sensation), but I would like to explore any solution before that one.

Hello every one.At first I have to be sorry of my english,i'm in intermediate level.
Well I have a big problem with my phone,Xperia P. I Cant acces to my google account on it.In each problem that google has developed there's no access for me(gmail,google play,....it asks for google account on each one of them and there is no access for me on google account).When i get to settings to add my google account from the accounts part, i will have these problems:after choosing the exicting ,it asks me to enter a gmail id and after i enter my information,it says that your connection is not ok and you must change it.I have changed my wifi connection a lot,even with 4-5 different isp,and that's like this with the data too.
And when I choose the new button,it asks me to enter a name and after that an id.at the next,it says that your id is not exists and you must chang it.i have entered many different ids but i have this problem with all of them.
I dont prefer to factory reset,so if there is some another way please tell me.
my stock rom(4.1.2)is already rooted and my kernel is 3.0.8 and my phone is xperia p.

try to put your phone in airplane mode, clear data and cashe of GooglePlay and use a VPN or any proxy.

I have done that a lot and there was no change.But nowy problem has been solved.I should delete the contents in the hosts file in the etc folder to reset Google accounts service.

Cannot pair Gear S with my Samsung Galaxy J7 phone

I recently got a new Gear S and installed the Gear Manager on my Samsung J7. But could not pair it. I have tried all possible means from tips in this forum but all in vain.
I get an error message asking to check if my phone is compatible and if the samsung gear app needs to be updated.
The app is of the latest version. I would like to know if my phone is compatible? And also if there is a way to make it compatible if it is not.

I followed what kingakuma posted, but here is an explanation to what I did:
Please note you DO NOT need to be rooted for this to work
Also this is over-simplified since I'm not a developer but I really looked a lot for a solution too and was not easy to find
This was tested on Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy Gear S
1- THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: you have to disconnect data and wifi, DO NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET BY ALL MEANS!
2- Download this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkp406v78lelv4o/Gear S 2.2.15022599.7z?dl=0
3- Extract file on your pc and transfer the folder that has 3 folders + 1 apk file inside to your phone inside any folder by cable
4- IF YOU ARE NOT DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET ALREADY ON YOUR PHONE, THEN DISCONNECT BEFORE PROCEEDING
5- Install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk
6- Open folder "Downloaded" and install everything inside

Okay, now you have connected your watch to your phone, here are the problems:
1- It doesn't automatically connect the phone to the watch like it used to, but since you cannot access the gear manager, you may connect through the list of bluetooth devices, so you will be getting all the notifications like you used to, but you will not be able to change that unless you disconnect from internet, uninstall gear manager, re-install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk and fix the notifications you wanna receive
2- You can't install apps to the gear from the phone anymore since you cannot access Gear Manager

Question Help with Lenovo Legion Y90 (L71061)

I bought the Y90 from Aliexpress and was assured the device will come with google play services and google play.
I understand the phone is a china ROM and I checked the bands for Australia and it seemed that it would work.
After receiving the phone, I tried to add my google account to the phone to begin to import my saved data and download apps.
However, all I get is "Couldn't Sign in there was a problem communicating with google servers try again later".
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this (it is my first post) but this was the best place i could find with regard to lenovo china ROM related queries.
Also, is it possible to install a different ROM on this phone? (I've seen that a global ROM is generally required to install custom ROMS. I'm also a noob with this stuff so be nice)

You can download from there and try installing the framework(google services apk) and install google playstore direct from the app gallery provided with legion y90 china.
you can also find the google services apk on uptodown.com website, I downloaded it from there.
First you need to remove the google play store and google play services from the app management in settings (clear storage and clear cache before uninstalling the google playstore and google services).
Then download the google services apk from my link and install the services then install the google playstore.
Enjoy your Legion y90.

I bought the Y90 from Aliexpress and was assured the device will come with google play services and google play.
I understand the phone is a china ROM and I checked the bands for Australia and it seemed that it would work.
After receiving the phone, I tried to add my google account to the phone to begin to import my saved data and download apps.
However, all I get is "Couldn't Sign in there was a problem communicating with google servers try again later".
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this (it is my first post) but this was the best place i could find with regard to lenovo china ROM related queries.
Also, is it possible to install a different ROM on this phone? (I've seen that a global ROM is generally required to install custom ROMS. I'm also a noob with this stuff so be nice)

Hello, all u need do is go to Settings > App management. In App management, u will see three dots above. Click on the three dots at the top right corner and go to Google basic Services. Off and On the toggle button. This time, u should be able to open google applications and login to them without any problems
Are you facing issue with lenovo legion y90 for notifications.
Whatsapp notifications and google notifications not popping up.
I somehow fixed it by reinstalling the google play services and it just worked.
Will definitely look at the app management section it seems it will come in handy.
Yes, I also have a problem will notifications for most applications just not coming through unless I physically enter the apps then the notifications will come through altogether. That's why im interested in a custom ROM hopefully someone can help with it in the near future..
Hello. You guys don't have contact contact issues? It gradually erases my contacts. I import them from a file to the phone memory and it does the same thing to me. I passed them to a microsoft account and still they keep disappearing.

Same here, I'm facing the same issue. Some of my contact will be erase automatically after a few day, I keyed in those contacts again and again during a week time. Really annoying and I cannot find any solution yet.

done that. phone need to be rooted and install termux with root access than need to download old AA apk from site and install it to system with privilege not system only. after launching it let it auto detect and update again for AA. still as and when will be abit buggy but better than nothing.

But Lenovo don't make a global ROM!???
No the lenovo y90 till date does not have global ROM. Looks like it is exclusive to china, now I having problem on my y90 due to stuck in fastboot and locked bootloader.

Quick question to Y90 users, since I can't find the info anywhere else, what's the thickness of the Y90 at the edge and at the bump?
I've found in specs that the thickness of the phone is 10.1 mm but it doesn't specify if at the bump or not.
im receiving it cant sing in on google services, does anyone knows what to do ?
I found the issue go to settings > manage apps > ... > google services > activate it.
Then try again

They don't have global rom. Download WeChat and join the community they release all roms, updated frequently in addition root method too listed.
