I have H870, not H870S, so I can't test it.
Please check LG UP errors and what they mean.

It really works!! I just have installed it myself!! I've attached some photos and screenshots of my LG G6 H870S!
You need to download and install LGUP with Uppercut. I'll describe the process below:
Download LGUP Tool with UPPERCUT
LGUP Tool v1.14.3: LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi
UPPERCUT v1.0.0.0: UPPERCUT_1.0.0.0.zip
How to Install LGUP Tool with UPPERCUT?
Download LGUP tool and UPPERCUT files.
First install ‘LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi’ file then extract the Uppercut zip and double-click on the ‘UPPERCUT_1.0.0.0.exe’ file to launch the LGUP Tool!

If you want a bumped lollipop rom then check out skin1980's rom he has one wich is very stockbased and it is the same kdz i belive

Hey m8. Any reasons why lgup wouldn´t work? We can manually add the keys to registry and supply the dll.
Edit: 2.0.1.6 first threw a virus warning but updated definitions and scanned both install package and its extracted components.
Looks fine now.

Refurbish in LGup doesn't work since G5 afaik, you need to flash an open kdz and after make a reset with the button combination.
Mind that the link I found is Vodafone branded and it seems impossible atm to download the firmware, I'll try again when I'll be back from work.
if you run LGUP with Autoprime's little "UPPERCUT" app you can refurbish the G6 with an open kdz.

Have you considered converting to US998 via the Frankenstien method? That is how I got Oreo on (what was) my H931.

AT&T doesn't release full image KDZ and they won't let LG do it. They only send over the air firmware update, and for those OTA updates you have to be an AT&T customer.
Best to Frankenstein convert to carrier unlocked model US998.

No, I was not having your specific issue, but I was unable to update to Oreo on my H931 I was using on another carrier. I see that you received solid advice from Chazz in that other thread. You should be good to go at this point.

Reading (for hours) various sources at the end I have guessed that the activity is simple and clean.
I managed to flash the HKG firmware with Oreo on my H870DS IRAN with sw version v10s-AME-XX
I've download new preferred H870DS firmware from this site

Obviously the kdz file must be for the same model you have.
FIRST
Download LGUP and install it
https://www.mylgphones.com/download-lg-up-software
SECOND
Download LGIP_common.dll
https://www.mylgphones.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/LGUP_common.zip
extract and save it in the path
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ LG Electronics \ LGUP \ model \ common
THIRD
download and extract UPPERCUT

FOURTH
Start exe of uppercut, it'll start LGUP.... meanwhile it is starting connect the phone to the USB of PC.
THEN...
As soon as LGUP recognizes the mobile phone, you have to go to the lower section of the program:
a) activate voice "upgrade"
b) click on the "File Path" space of the first line, then on the button "..."
c) link the file kdz you have downloaded and want flash and press "start" button....
I have already flashed two firmware (HKG DSU and TWN DS and returned on HKG DSU) on my H870DS IRN stopped on Nougat ... and in all cases it works great.
UPDATE - PAY ATTENTION!!!!
on the occasion of the last transition to another region I've bricked my G6.
I downloaded from the linked site to download the various kdz of the various regions, in the name was specific to lg-h870ds, but in reality it was for the LG-h870.
Even if he made the flash via uppercut, the smartphone went into the brick and remains stationary to the logo "LG THINKQ" without giving me any chance of recovery through the known operations.
So, my guide works and is safe if you're sure to flash the correct firmware for lg-h870ds !!!

Nope, no ota afger this procedure. The Ota goes with imei, but I think there's a conflict after this procedue between imei and firmware...
But you can update by lgup and uppercut the next firmware you'llwant

You have the even more updated version (20c firmware, 2018/8/4) for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore regions, in mylgphones.com.

Yes, i think It's the same procedure, but you have to download and flash the 870s firmware of your preferred region. Mind the exact name of the file downloaded before you flash it

Can we install any region firmware on LG Wing also? Anyone knows?

I dont think so. I tried to flash TUR over ZAF and got error before the process start.
