Hi all, I posted this in another Tab 10.1 forum at www.thegalaxytabforum.com but I am also posting this question and concern here to see who else has this problem/concern and if it can be fixed.
I am having an ergonomic problem with this Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sleek slim design!
While holding the tablet as one intuitively would and trying to type or do touch screen motions I find that the palm areas of my hands always touch the "page back" arrow button at the lower left edge of the screen (on the bottom task bar) and causes it to exit out of the page I am working on. Same goes for the lower right corner edge where the clock/settings icon opens up when my right hand palm leans up against it inadvertently.
I find that Samsung in all their wisdom of trying to make a slim sleek looking design surely messed up on this point! The tablet's screen bordering edge sure looks good, but is way too thin and too close to the active screen area at the lower corners causing one's hands and palms to easily contact those corner icons and inadvertently activate them.
Can anything be done to move those corner icons further away from the corner edges so that these sorts of false touch activations can be eliminated?
The Asus EE Transformer tablet my son has, does not have this problem because the tablet frame is wider and keeps your hand palms further away from falsely touching those corner icons.
Samsung, goofed up here. I hope my suggestion of moving the icons away from these corners can be done in a software OS update.
Your just an idiot who doesn't know how to use it. I have the exact same tablet and it works perfectly. I have no problem with the back button or anything. My brother has the Motorola xoom which has a smaller bezel all around and all be does is use that tablet. He has no problem with it at all. So it doesn't matter if you have a big or small bezel to use the tablet you just have to be smart. And obviously your not so you should just go and return it

I use my 10.1 with one hand all the time and never run into this problem. To each their own, I suppose.

Well, I don't think my hands are that big but I do not use the tablet at a table nor in my lap looking down at it. I wanted to get a tablet because it is supposed to be light and portable and easily held in your hands to read like a book. Also if one is laying down relaxing on a sofa or in bed taking in some night time surfing whilst going to bed, then some hand holding it up with two hands is required. Sooner or later your palm is going to brush up and touch the screen inadvertently even if you are aware of this issue, the brain easily drifts off every now and then and you can forget for a moment to keep your hands away from the touch screen.
I guarantee you not everyone is going to always use the tablet on a flat table surface or always in their laps. There will be some hand holding positions folks will be using it in.
Just looking for some opinions here. I currently have a Samsung Focus which was my first true smartphone. I've used a bunch though including the S2 and the iPhone 4s. I honestly think windows is the best OS out of the 3. But the 2nd gen of windows phones don't have much to offer above the focus, so I don't see it being worth it to grab a new windows phone. Also the weak marketplace is a killer especially when my friends are constantly usings apps like ptt and various *** 'with friends' games.
But I had every intention on probably sticking with a new Windows phone until I heard of this phone. Just because it offers something regular phones don't.
Advice? I'd also like opinions on the size. Not how it feels in your hand, I could care less. But how it fits in pockets, the weight... whether or not you can carry it around like you could carry your old phone.
How's the music integration? Zune wasn't fantastic but I quite liked it. I use my phone every day as my mp3 player at the gym. Does it function well? And back to the last question on size... could I fit it in a pair of gym shorts? (not cardio)
How much better is browsing on it? Do you find yourself using the internet much on it, or still always using a laptop if you have it? I thought I'd be using it all the time with my focus, but with the 3.7" screen i never do unless I'm not around a computer.
And are there any integrated bonuses that this phone has that the SII or other similar smartphones don't have? (aside from the notes app).

Its a big phone, if you gonna wear it with gym shorts, depending on the activity it could slip out of you pockets. Phone is super light, easy to fit in pockets unless you wearing skinny's. Besides the s pen options, internet looks great on it, i use it often.
Music is like any other android, but i use power amp which i recommend. As far as advantages....SIZE...the screen is just bliss and typing on it is just great for big or little fingers. Hope this helps.
I went from a Samsung Captivate to a Focus and now the Note. Honestly you might be dissapointed with the Note. Not because the phone is bad but the Windows Phone 7.5 is just soo smooth. When I used the Focus that phone never crashed, battery life is awesome and everything it did it did well.
The only knock on Windows was the lack of app support. I really missed the apps and games that I had on Android that is why I went back. In the end I might go with Galaxy S2 or Skyrocket. The only reason I will leave the Note is that it is difficult to work the phone with one hand.
If you get passed that and the size the phone is great.

Yeah I'd use it for weight lifting only, so I won't be running around or anything. I weighed my focus and its over 5 ounces and supposedly the Note is about 6. So as long as it physically will fit in my pocket I think it should be ok.
What do you mean by 'aside from the pen options internet looks great'? Or were those two statements unrelated.

I definitely noticed the lack of 'smoothness' when messing around with the Galaxy 2 compared to my windows phone... and this is one reason I believe windows is superior... or at least has the potential to be. But there are so few things I actually do with my focus aside from text and listen to music. Screen is too small to browse, no apps to mess with. I also love customization and miss that factor with windows, so that might be fun to have an android.
Also I'm not a traveler or on the go user, so using with one hand shouldn't be an issue.
Can you guys fit the phone in all 4 jean pockets? Or only front, only back?
Think I'd get odd looks if I got a 4 point chest harness and secured it right in the center of my body? or is it not that big..

Hell YES! Even without ICS on this phone it crushes everything. Pending you know how to mess with it a bit with a root/overclock/rom yada yada yada. Ive already gotten into 5 convos with people about it since ive gotten it last week. And all 5 after getting it in their hand said they want one .

notice how others gave useful info and answered some of my questions
i'm not necessarily looking for you guys to decide for me but i had a few key questions and also was wondering if there are any main points i'd be missing leaving windows, or strong points i'd be gaining going to the note.
also i watched a video where the guy was using the stylus for writing and his finger for everything else. i'd imagine you can use the stylus to click on anything you could with your finger, right?
My opinion, the primary reason to move to the Note from the Focus is simply if you want the larger form and access to more apps. As you know, the Windows OS is very efficient and functional, aimed at getting the job done with some flair but not having to constantly fiddle with the the UserInterface. It is quicker and if you like it, I'd stick with it.
My college son has owned the Samsung Focus for over a year now and he really likes it...so do I. In fact on my prior Samsung 4'5" Infuse I often used the "launcher 7" app on my 'droid to simulate a windows phone. I'm playing with it now on my Note.
I can't carry my Note like my prior phones. But that is ok with me. I do put carry it in my front left/rear pockets but when I get it the car it comes out and sits in my car. But that's ok.
Gym shorts? it would probably fit but I certainly wouldn't exercise with it...although you could job/run with it using one of those armbands.
Browsing? I use the browser all the time, it's great. Rarely use my laptop.
The pen is cool...and I use it often to take notes, draw ideas, etc. However, I think an update is needed (and supposedly coming) to help smooth out the interface.

This is the best phone ever and Android is the best OS, period.
Opinions on size? Nothing but good, here's the highlights to spare you some time:
I have beg hands, fits me perfectly. Wife has tiny baby hands, she can hardly hold it.
You feel a little weird holding it to your head the first day or so, after that you dont notice.
Splitscreen...oh yea, one of my favorites. Go to landscape and some of your comms go split screen. Email is way easier when you have the lest on left and preview panel on right. Same for you text message screen. Theis is a great way to skim through.
Usability - The white model is a little slick on the back, can cause to slip out of your hand. Solution is a case that most use, but if your like me and like the naked look most of the time then the easy solution is full body skin. I applied a "armor Suit" which is a wet application. This typically leave a grippier almost rubber like feeling left. Awesome for the back, I can lay mine on my flat hand and almost stand it straight up and down before it slides. Some don't like the feeling on the screen but I don't mind it at all and actually prefer it now.
Pocketability- Easy, very easy actually. It's a very flat phone so I carry in back or front pocket with no problem at all. Folks that may have problems would be women who typically have smaller pockets on jeans and slacks and guys who wear skinny nut huggers.
Everyday use - Every app seems easier to use. Games are a blast since you have more room to use virtual sticks without covering most of the screen up (some awesome games on sale right now for $0.50)
Accessories - Suprisingly alot for as new as it is. Lots of metal back plates (got a green one on the way), leather cases, holsters, things of this nature. It helps that the international version has been out a little longer and there are accessories such as the dock that work perfectly fine with out AT&T version. Plus generic slips and pouches made for the Dell Streak 5 often fit our device, sometimes with very slight alterations. Generic batteries, docks, and chargers are out too. Most of these accessories are cheap. I bought a silicon cover, full film protector, 3 batteries, charger, and metal back cover, all for under $40 off amazon from several vendors and thats with shipping.
Development - It's quite slow at the moment, but it almost always is. We're all waiting for ICS (Ice Cream Sandwhich) wich some say is coming soon and others say its not. The phone functions fin with Gingerbread, it's just most of us Android addicts demand the newest OS by any means possible. It'll pick up, it always does.

PS the S-Pen will make you a master at "Draw Something" game.
Draw something was what initially gave me the idea for the phone Then I started looking into it and now I'm really thinking I'm going to get it. I definitely have to go into my local store first and try it out and put it in my pockets, etc. Hopefully I can get a deal too.
I actually hope ICS doesn't come out for a little while. I like change and being able to mess around with new updates. So since this will be my first droid it'll leave me plenty of time to mess around with it, then when ICS comes it'll feel like a whole new phone once again.
And with some android devices, can't you actually load windows 7.5 on it?
I throw iron all the time wearing basketball shorts aka Gym shorts or sweatpants using my note. I will time to time use my old ipod touch that has a cracked screen being i can toss it around without worry.
But i can easily use my Note without problem in my shorts while working out. I also am a goalie for a mens ice league and have it in my pocket while i dress.
As far as carrying it around normally. Its cold by me currently so i always am wearing one of my bubble zip up vests with a zip pocket i put it in.
I also have a bad habbit of actually holding my phone in my hand wherever i go like to the store etc, etc. So i have a bad habbit of putting it down and not grabbing it and walking away . Luckily i have my GF with me most of the time to "Re-trace" my steps or ask "Do you have your phone" lol. But ive put it in my Nike swishy pants before without a problem.
Some/most people mostly those who don't actually have the phone or have even held one make it out to be like its a foot long and 3"s thick lol. Out of 5 people that i have let hold the phone. Normal sized people not Giants lol. The first words out of their mouth are either wow is so nice or wow is so light and thin.
Its even getting to the point with me the phone is starting to look normal sized!!! 5.8" screen on the Galaxy Note 2? HAaha. there is a tiny bit of room to expand the screen and not the actual device itself it seems. Like for example a good 1/4" or so if they got rid of that ugly ugly AT&T stamp on the top!

A question on the physical glass for the screen.. how is it? I'm not a fan of screen protectors. My focus had what I think they called gorilla glass. It's two years old and theres maybe one minuscule mark on it. Will the note hold up like that or will it need a protector with long term use (long term s pen use as well)?
According to everything I've read - it has gorilla glass. But it's not nearly as good for being anti-scratch as say an iPhone 4s from what I've seen. I've had mine less than a week and have tiny scratches all over the screen. I had my iPhone 4 for a year and had barely anything noticeable.
I set it down (face down - stupid I know) on my desk at work once. Scratched the heck out of it. It's a smooth desk surface so I'm not sure WTF happened. Other than that just into an otherwise empty pocket.
So either I have one with a faulty display - or a screen protector should be considered a pre-purchase item.
Ok. I'll just get one and have them put it on in store. think the main reason i hate them is i always F them up.

Get an SGP GLAS-T screen protector they work better than anything out there. I had a SGP oliophobic film and after a week it was all scratched up from the S-pen I went an complained and they returned my money and told me about pre-order for Glas-t and it is the best screen protector ever. It is crystal clear, hard surface ( so s-pen works well with no scratching), I get alot less face oil and finger prints than other protectors (don't know why but stays cleaner) and it self installed just made sure screen was clean and droped it on by accident and it came out with no bubbles it is th most expensive protector I got but well worth it.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...0PTkDw&usg=AFQjCNEQuEHZN7W18XKdkXZchjZgmdngXg

Got mine in yesterday. I was definitely a little pessimistic about how good a glass protector would be not to mention very concerned about the one chance to get it right install. Happy to say that the install was super simple (I have a couple tiny bubbles but nothing worth crying about) and so far it's excellent for writing on the screen.
We'll see how it lasts over time - but my initial impressions are very good!
I've read in other forums that the Wacom Bamboo Feel (CS300UK) line of stylus's do not line up correctly, with the tip being offset by 1/8th of an inch or more, which is really maddening when you're trying to do some detailed art. In the Note 10.1 2014 forum there's a thread devoted to how many of these stylus's suck and are offset, including the CS300UK2, which people still aren't sure of if it's a new version or a different region product code of the same pen. Whichever it is, this is about the easy to get Best Buy and Amazon sold version, CS300UK.
Still, after reading all of that, I gave it a shot and it really was crap. Way offset! I was about to return it, when I decided to get out the X-acto blade and see what I could do.
I've attached a finished version of what my pen looks like now. Not the prettiest thing, but it lines up perfectly for me now and took WAY less time to do than it did for me to write all this out. haha
1- Pull out the nib that's currently in the pen.
2- Whittle down the tip of the pen until you start to see the first bit of innards in it. With my X-acto, it was really easy to cut, not a hard plastic at all.
In the image attached, you can see a small black circle inside the cut grey part. That is where I've decided to stop. Not sure what it does but looks like it shouldn't be sliced up...
3- Trim the nib. I've labeled in the image the bit of nib that I trimmed. This was photographed on the top of the back of the Bamboo nib box so you can see the size, but it is a small amount, like 1/8 of an inch or so. With your basic nail clippers, I clipped it from the "bottom" of the nib, which is slightly less round than the top, but I doubt it matters which you clip.
So yeah, slip the nib back in the pen and you're done. It should be lined up.
The two photos on the right of the attached image show what it looks like held from the left and right at a pretty decent angle, my "natural" drawing angle. Basically spot on. Tested in a bunch of places around the tablet and it all matches up.
Good luck to anyone who tries this! Also, don't blame me if you screw up your pen.
Now, if only Wacom could put out a pen that is this little bit shorter for these newer Note's...

People are still experiencing an offset with that, as well. I browsed all through the 10.1 2014 thread about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484014
Specifically http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47180938&postcount=46 from a quick search in that thread.
As they're both Samsung products put out at about the same time, I am using the assumption that they will have similar tech when it comes to the digitizer and how it reacts to the Feel pens. The Note 3 will probably have that, too. Older digitizers might not do so good, though. haha

At least from the angle, there seems to be an offset from the UK2. He's on the line with the pen, but the drawn line is under that line.
I have the V2 and have no offset issues. From a screen shot taken from a side angle, yes there appears to be an offset, but the big question is "is there an offset from the eye position of the writer" not is there an offset for someone watching from the side. It's like looking at a speedometer from the driver's seat vs. the passenger seat. You will not get the same reading as you will from the other position.

Some say they like it and others are still saying their V2's are off, but if you do have one that works properly and you're happy with it, that's all that matters.
Does the back of this pen work as an eraser?
I was finally able to test the wacom pen with eraser that came with my Toshiba laptop. No surprise, it has the same 2-3 mm offset when the pen is held at an angle. Too bad because it's nice to have the easy eraser which does work as expected. I'll probably end up ordering the big s-pen now...
Also, I did try adjusting the calibration screws under the button to no avail...

WOW worked like a charm thanks for posting!! Just be careful how short you cut the nib I found I cut it too short and had to gradually adjust the length on the spare.

But then I did manually adjust the potentiometers in the pen, as one should do with every Wacom pen by default...........

Any chance you can share how to adjust the Bamboo? Wacom support told me it's a Samsung issue and very sporadic. I would appreciate the help so I don't have to return it.

Certainly!
There's two ways to go about this. The 'Viking equivalent of try this first' and the 'If that doesn't work, let's try the more technical one.'
Firstly, try giving it a good solid whack on the edge of a table. As ridiculous as that sounds (and makes you look), this does usually have an effect. Often, the nib isn't properly inserted, or sits at just the wrong angle. Brute force tends to work.
If that doesn't help, it's time for the proper technical solution. This works on pretty much any magnetic stylus with a button, including the Spen.
Requirements:
- A small flat screwdriver
- A non-cluttered room (preferably without carpets)
- The pen
- The tablet
Step 1) Carefully use the small screwdriver to pop off the button. You should be able to insert it along the side in the middle and then slide it towards the back end (where the fastener isunder the button).
The thing jumps, so be careful! (Hence the clean, carpet free room. I had to use a vacuum cleaner to recover mine once..) If the screwdriver doesn't work, try a needle or a razor (mind your fingers!).
Step 2) With the lid off, you'll see two dials.
The one closest to the tip of the pen adjusts the sensitivity.
The one closest to the cap adjusts the offset. This is the one we'll need to fix this issue. (Might as well tweak both whilst you're at it)
Carefully make tiny adjustments (and I mean really tiny) to these dials. Test it on the tab every time, you don't need to re-attach the button to test it. They go both ways, so play with it 'till you're satisfied with the result. (On my previous one I had to turn it a whole 85º, on my new one only 5º.)
Step 3) If you're happy with the result, click the button back on. It only fits one way, and needs to be inserted very much like a battery: one side first. (The side pointing towards the cap)

That was very helpful, but still took a bit of fidgeting to get it off. For anyone trying it at home, here is a picture of the guts. The two tabs on the left click into rectangular hole.
My problem was that I tried to slide a blade along the edge and the cross piece would not let that happen. Perhaps the best way is to pry at the left 1/3 of the length and let the middle bulge up.

i have bought yesterday the white x compact. unfortunately its a bit larger than the z3c. well im a bit disappointed but not because of the sd 650. the performance is quite good. its definately responsive and quick for a compact. but the bezel on the bottom is bigger than at the top. looks like a design fail. vibration motor is veeery strange imo. at start you dont feel him when typing but the faster you type the more the motor is vibrating. this behavior is very hard to accept. maybe for some people a minor thing but for me when i got used to my z3c this not ok. the whole left side beside the display has a gap between display and frame. on the right side there is no gap. dust and dirt wil again find a nice place there. this was the reason why i have replaced my white z3c with a black one after the motherboard was dead on the white one. it seems sony has not learned from their mistakes. fingerprint button has also gaps and looks like a bit deplaced but works very well. on the back side there you have gaps on top and bottom. i really do not understand sony. this phone costs 450€ and it seems they have no QA before packaging. camerawise i can see some improvements. focus is much faster than z3c. but the camera quality nowhere comparable to a galaxy s7. its ok but not that i would say wow. front cam is better than z3c. no softskin blur effect more but when it gets dark the front cam is not very good. generally i was expecting more from sonys camera system.
the best thing at this phone is the display. the black values and color reproduction is very good. looks like amoled but is probably a very good ips. but i think its displaying to much red. adjusting whitebalance helps. generally much better than z3c. due to the 2D glass curves it seems that display is almost printed regardless the 720p.
but there is also somehting that is causing me headache with the display. it seems that due to the curved glas the letter "P" is sometimes not very responsive. especially if you are trying to hit the letter from the right side throught the curved area of the display. from top no prob but from the side its sometimes not reacting. tested with google keyboard.
loudspeakers are a bit louder probably due to the lack of water resistance. they sound better.
the phone goes back as i have got massively used to have root. i'm still on kitkat with root and xposed and several changes through xposed. loosing all this to a non perfect phone makes no sense for 450€.
the biggest problem is that there are no smartphones at 4,6inch with good quality anymore. i was even thinking about iphone but no thanks. i dont want to be a slave of itunes and pay more than 750€ for a phone. SE is too small. z5c is overheating, bulky & too rectangle. A3 2016 is 4,7inch and therefor longer. could be ok. BUT it has no fuc*** notification LED. major fail by samsung as this is inacceptable in 2016. but generally the build quality by samsung has raised. the galaxy s7 in a size of 4,6inch would be perfect. im remembering the times with my galaxy s1. fantastic phone and it was undestroyable. well if you have any questions you can ask me until i have still the phone. currently im thinking of testing an s7. but i hate to to do strange things with my thumb just to be able to reach the back button on the bottom of the phone. the s4 mini was perfect size.

I will give this phone a try but your build quality comments concern me. I should have it this week, so I'm hoping I get a good one. Does the plastic, glossy shell feel as cheap as it looks?
True, it's sad that these phones are the only game in the 4.6" size. I kinda don't consider the 4.6" iPhone in this size class because its just as big as a 5" screen phone because of the home button. I'm hoping Samsung comes out with an S7 mini which I would get in a heartbeat.

try it. the plastic glossy shell is not the problem. its nice to look at, looks a bit like ceramic and not so slippery as i thought but the build quality is again not the best. i hate the unsymetric gaps between frame. they just cant place the display equally into the frame. on the black (which is not true black, its more dark blue) you wont see them so much as on the white one.
i was hoping for a s7mini but it seems that samsung has changed the mini series into the A3 line which is really sad unfortunately in the stores theres always the anti thief thing on the back which prevents to get true feeling of the normal S7. i need to test if a S7 would somehow be operational with one hand for me. but i dont think so. :/
the display of my z3c is peeling of on the top left edge which was the reason iw as looking for a different phone. i need to repair this. sony would need to much time for this.

i didn't realize that with swift key. but you are right. if you set to system vibration you have that issue. but me, i am using swift key where you can set you individual vibration duration and that works like a charm.

on my xxc the gaps are all the same size and nothing is deplaced.

i hope, root is just a question of time. i hope very soon. can't wait for it to make all my customisations i am used to.

the individual vibration is the same. the often and quicker you are pressing a button the more the motor of the vibrator gets crazy. sound like a bee on Speed.
You must try to press the letter p probably from the right side. a bit through the curved glass. the galaxy s7 and z3 compact touchscreen is much more responsive and sensitive. for me it was often not reacting when i was not thinking to touch more precisely in the middle of the letter P. maybe a defect on my device but i think the whole touchscreen production will be affected by this. i have tested the Xperia X and it has the same behavior. i will have to test another device in store if this is the case there as well.
this website is untrusted. dont download anything from that. you will get a virus. nothing else. when a root is availbale someone will for sure post it here first. but i doubt that it will be soon. x compact has not the best specs. all the famous and talented devs have other phones currently. xxz0o was the person that developed a root for z3c after half a year i think.
ok. now i found the issue with the vibration. your duration seems to be set pretty long. i set it to 35ms and that works absolutely fine. but if you set it to f.e. 60ms you have that issue. but why would you like to have it that long?
i mean its obvious that it can be a prob. if your next press is in the range of the 60ms there is no other way for the phone to vibrate permanently. are other phones adjusting the vibration if you press faster than the setted duration?
but i am a slow writer. maybe i will never understand that problem. i just found that issue while pressing complete randomly on the keyboard. i could never write that fast.
jeah, as i thaught. the page is very weird. i would also only try a root from a page i know pretty good.
ohh. half a year? thats sad. but hope never dies.

The S7 mini would be perfect, but it will never be created. The S7 is about the same size as the iPhone 6, so if any of your friends have one, just try using it and you'll quickly realize how much harder it is to reach the top of the phone with your thumb. I'm sticking with my Z3C for another year to see if anyone (not just Sony) releases a 4.5-4.7" flagship device. The XC just doesn't meet my expectations for an "upgrade".

All of these first reviews to be released seem to be very shallow in depth. They don't go into any real analysis of the phone and use very general statements to describe the user experience. In fact, these read more like unboxings than actual reviews. There's a lot of talk about what the phone looks like, the specs it comes with, and way too much of it sounds like they're reading a press release. If I was in the market for a new device. I'd wait another month for real reviews to be released.

I sure do not have those build quality issues. gaps?! display is dead flush, heck everything is. I am very impressed with the build quality, very sturdy. I do not have trouble with coming in from the right and typing 'p' either, but if you display is not flush it would probably influence it. I am more than sure you were unlucky and got a bad apple (heh). as for the key vibration issue; if you type faster than the vibration delay is set, you are of cause going to have it vibrate all the time while typing, odd btw that you guys was set to 60ms mine was set to 25ms as default.
Hey everyone, just wanted some feedback regarding an issue I began having this week with my X Compact.
Issue: The phone is not as responsive during the unlocking process as it once was. I used to simply swipe to unlock and the phone would immediately unlock with a simple swiping motion. Now, the phone requires a harder swipe before it unlocks.
Any ideas?
Before I bought the Fold, I read several reviews that all claimed the outer screen was too small to be of any use at all. I've found this to be totally untrue. I use the smaller screen more often than I do the inner screen. It's great for quick messaging, taking phone or video calls, and even reading news articles. I don't know what they were talking about lol
I figured I would make this post to let others know that the outer screen is very useful. I think the reviewers were just spoiled by the giant inner screen so they found the smaller outer screen "useless".
Using the phone closed with just the outer screen is actually more comfortable than anything I've used in years for one handed use. These days phones have become hard to handle with one hand, but the Fold when closed is not at all. Great when you're on the move or just want to be more discrete while reading something.

I agree 100%. The outer screen is what I use most of the time, If I am sat at home in the evening and want to watch some media (while the wife has something else on the TV!) or edit some photos, then I use the inner screen, everything else I use the outer screen. Maybe its because I can remember the days when a 4.6 inch screen would have been considered "large".
I use the outer screen to control my music player quite often, but the keyboard is too small for me to use that screen for much else.

If you look at the keyboard when typing it's fine and swipe works well too.
For me the outer screen suits me for most usage and when I need a bigger screen I flip it open..
As a result of using both screens my battery life is much better than on the note 10plus

absolutely correct.
pardon my partial vent, but this is what happens when these idiots make these "Review" videos, after only having used the device on Launch Day ffs.
for a bunch of "tech enthusiasts" whose job is to delve into a device, almost all of these reviews are cookie cutter, and just regurgitating spec sheets.
unfortunately, it's all about being first in this day. who cares, rifle out the content. end vent
back to the front screen, from all the fold videos i've seen, yes the thinner/narrower body is much better for one-handed use,
but almost everyone complains about typing, in which cases, is two handed typing.
i think only 2 reviewers have mentioned that it's very useful for a particular type of user: the keyboard swiping kind.
lastly, i didn't see any of these "two handed typing" people complaining about the keyboard on an iphone 3-4 with a 3.5" screen, when android phones of that time were already 5"+.

The outer screen is handy for a quick reply specially on the road.
I agree. I use the inner screen for composing Outlook messages or participating in Skype for Business/Microsoft Team meetings, LinkedIn Learning or ther media watching. Once Sun sets, I use my Samsung Ultra 20 5G for tweeting and other social activities.
100% agree. And When I started using swipe keyboard I was able to make the keys large enough to be useable for me. That might be an option for some.
