Are there any risks associated with this like tripping knox?
Tablet is working fine just curious.
Thanks for reading
>>>Edit it should read SM-T865N in title. Could a MOD Please change it? If possible <<<
As far as I know, this does not trip knox.
I can confirm it does not trip Knox.
I flashed the latest available UK firmware listed on Sammobile.com
The rom was PDA T865XXU1ASH6, however it is a German rom. Or at least that is the first language coming up on a reboot and also the language used by the Samsung members app. Previously both were South Korean.
i took a chance i figured it out
i did removed all my accounts from the tablet (and remove Samsung account !!). did a factory reset.
my device was purchased in korea, making it the SM-T865N version
factory unlocked
came stock with this:
checked by calling *#1234#
AP: T865NKOU2ASL3
CP: T865NKOU2ASL3
CSC: T865NKOO2ASL3
i downloaded this firmware file:
T865XXU2ASL3_T865OLM2ASL3_XSA.zip
from:
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-tab-s6-lte/firmware/#SM-T865
this is the United Kingdom firmware
i extracted it using 7zip.
put my tablet in download mode,
started ODIN, and loaded 4 files from the extracted firmware:
AP_T865XXU2ASL3_CL17437689_QB27772178_REV00_user_l ow_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS9.tar.md5
BL_T865XXU2ASL3_CL17437689_QB27772178_REV00_user_l ow_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_T865XXU2ASL3_CP14585667_CL17437689_QB27772178_R EV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_OXM_T865OXM2ASL3_CL17437689_QB27772178_REV 00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
*****
i did not use:
HOME_CSC_OMC_OXM_T865OXM2ASL3_CL17437689_QB2777217 8_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
wanted to do a full wipe of all my settings and apps
i did not check any settings in ODIN.
Clicked Start, all went ok !!
its now an SM-T865
the weather app works, the downloads are faster, it has not dropped the wifi. cellular works as it should.
the only noticeable difference is with the phone app. there is no record the call button.
it also fixed the not connecting to the cell network unless it was in 3G only ... now works in lte/4G automatically
if i have any problems with it i will post again describing them. hopefully i never do
i will try
but down speed is bad
so
# 200505 1700 update

Hello everyone,
I recently got an upgrade though T-Mobile (in UK) for a Samsung Galaxy S2. Its simply awesome, but I'm a newbie to the Android OS. Hence I have very less knowledge as to what is happening with the android OS rooting, updating etc.
So on to the main topic, I got my phone (model GT-I9100) on 2.3.5 and the base band is I9100BOKJ1.
I would like to remove the T-Mobile branding and the other software which there installed have it.
So could someone please guide me though how I could root and update my firmware to Standard samsung with out the carriers crap installed and still use the phone with my carrier?
My phone is unlocked by default as another sim card works from another carrier.
Could someone walk me through step by step as to how i could root and update my firmware to standard and unlock the device Any help is much appreciated.
I have attached a screen shots of my x#1234#
Thanks.

Hi guys I just wanted to know if what I'm about to do is the correct method to upgrade my firmware from gingerbread to ics.
I bought my phone ( i9100 ) from Hong Kong and I live in a different country. So when there was an update for its firmware, i was unable to receive it even after checking for updates through system. So what I'm about to do is use Odin and download a firmware from samfirmware under HK's firmware and put it in the PDA part of Odin and run it.
Is this method correct? Or am I suppose to do something else? My phone is not rooted and I dont intend for it to be just yet and I'm also wondering if I use HK's firmware, will it affect my network coverage? Because being in a different country and having a different assigned network and all might cause a few problems with its radio or something?
Please advice thanks
Hi yes that's how I upgraded my firmware that method will work. Be sure to factory reset first though. As for your carrier concerns I can't answer sorry. The beauty with this though is that you can re-flash a different firmware if it doesn't work. All the best

1. Your method is correct. You shouldn't have signal issues.
Before flashing you must go through the flashing guides.
2. If you are living in another country and don't have plans of going to Hong Kong or your phone is out of warranty (this doesn't matter), you can flash any firmware for your present location. It will work very fine.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Hey guys!
So I've had my S3 for a few weeks now and i bought it online from Kogan and assumed that the CSC would be XSA because i chose Australia for the firmware update thing when i first booted my phone up.
However Kies shows my phone as being ORS which is the CSC for Slovakia.
I decided that I'm going to flash my phone to another CSC but I'm stuck on whether to change it to XSA (Australian) or to flash an European stock ROM. This is because Australia is horribly slow at receiving updates and most countries in Europe are the first to get them.
So since I have never flashed my S3 before, I would really appreciate it if someone could explain how and where to download the appropriate files from. Basically I want to be able to get updates quickly without having problems here in Australia. Any comment is welcome.
Thanks!

If you want JB now you need to flash the Polish ROM, either ICS and update or just flash one of the ODIN images. Or you can use a custom ROM based on that official release. Start with the sticky threads, then have a look in the development forum.

At the moment the only 4.1.2 firmware for Italy is for Vodafone. Here is the download link if you want to try it.Unzip the file and put the tar. file in PDA in Odin and hit start.
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/189495671/82c4cde/I9300XXELLA_I9300VFGELL3_OMN.zip.html
If you are not on Vodafone the you can root your phone and delete all the Vodafone apps with Titanium Backup from the Play Store. To root put the auto-root tar. file in PDA in Odin and hit start
Here it is from my dropbox

Its either that or wait for the open Italy firmware.
Hi all. A quick question if I may. I have a US tablet S3 (T820). My understanding is that all the devices, irrespective of the region, in terms of hardware are the same this time (no difference in processors etc.). Therefore I assumed that I can apply any firmware for T820. I downloaded the last one T820XXU1AQF3 (for UK) and tried to apply it via Odin. It showed that it failed. Had to download QD6 for Canada, install the CSC and the the BL in order to be able to boot the device. Now the funny part is that it shows in the settings that I actually have the T820XXU1AQF3 installed (not sure how that happened since it FAILED).
Generally speaking, is it possible to install any firmware on a US device? Why did I have the fail ( I installed also the CSC and BL of the T820XXU1AQF3). Thanks in advance.

Hi Kyrillos,
I can confirm it works fine, I just got my Tab S3 (US 'XER' Version). I got the latest UK (BTU) firmware using SamFirm and then flashed it using the newest version of Odin. I flashed the BL, AP, and CSC (NOT HOME_CSC).
This also removed some of the US Bloatware that I didn't want.
Hope that helps

Thanks! I managed to update as well. It seems my odin version was the issue (although it was working just fine with my S7).
Does the UK (BTU) version have the battery drain bug?
All firmwares have the wifi battery drain bug, including the AQF5 for KOO (korea). May be it's a hardware problem?
