What's the way to achieve this? I'm scared to just go and install MIUI because of anti rollback protection, so I'd like to ask:
1. What's the reliable source to download MIUI from? Global user here.
2. What are the exact steps to safely install MIUI?
Download mi-flashtool, download MIUI official fastboot rom and flash via mi-flashtool
DON'T FORGET to backup everything before, If you choose "clean all" option before flashing
And, There is no Anti-roll back in Redmi 5 plus aka Vince

So I've read a lot of guides but a few questions still remain unanswered am hoping anyone here can shed some light
-> can I unlock on global stable (Lollipop) miui 7 version 8.0.2.0 (on which am currently on) or do I have to flash global developer rom to be able to unlock ?
-> can I use updater app to switch from stable to developer ? or do I need to use fastboot rom ?
Now on rooting
-> Can I simply install a twrp of my choice and flash super su with it to get root ?
->Do I need to flash universal boot img patcher before or after super su ?
->do I need to flash lazy flasher ?
Some people say simply flash supersu in any twrp to get root others say also flash ubp first! others say also lazy flasher
which is true ?
What's the difference between universal boot image patcher and lazy flasher ?
My aim is to simply root

FOR YOUR FIRST QUESTION: YES YOU CAN. I JUST TODAY UNLOCKED IN 8.0.2
2ND:YES YOU CAN SWITCH VIA UPDATER FROM STABLE TO DEVELOPER. BUT NOT SURE WHETHER CAN BE FROM STABLE LOLLIPOP TO DEVELOPER MARSHMALLOW. IT SHOULD WORK THOUGH,
3RD:YES YOU CAN SIMPLY FLASH SUPERSU.ZIP.... BUT UNLOCK BOOTLOADER VIA OFFICIAL WAY.ITS BETTER AND HASSELFREE FOR FUTURE.
4TH AND 5TH:I HAVENT USED UBP TILL NOW. ITS NOT THAT IMPORTANT. U CAN FLASH TWRP RECOVERY WITH LAZY FLASHER. WHEN YOU INSTALL MIUI VIA TWRP SIMPLY FLASH LAZY FLASHER AND SUPER SU AFTERWARDS. AND IT WILL WORK WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.
http://en.miui.com/thread-283146-1-1.html for info..
if you unlock bootloader officially then there is twrp cofface. which automatically patches boot.img. So no need of lazy flasher too
Those are my experiences. may not be 100% correct.

which twrp Best for flashing cm like custom roms ? Do you use alka bro ? Can I flash cm like roms with alka ?
Should I take backup of Lollipop with alka in order to fix no sim/baseband type problems when returning to miui from cm roms or Will it work if I simply edl whatever rom it is that I want from cm13 ?

You can use any bro for flashing custom roms
but for miui flash modified cofface with lazy flasher (for unofficial unlock) and u can use twrp cofface for official unlock to flash miui
always take backup before doing anything
i have never faced no sim issues bro when returning from cm to miui
so i dont know about that case.
yeah you can edl too but its not needed that often.

U can download from en.miui.com in download section
No it wont get relock
But u shall flash lazy flasher or use twrp cofface (for official)
I am saying these according to my experience
I unlocked unofficially 2 mnths ago
And flashed various custom as well as miui rom
And today i checked bootloader was still unlocked
But i guess there are some very few custom roms which relocks bootloader ( i forgot though)
But after you once flas twrp in ur phone though BL gets locked u still can flash miui zip custom rom, kernel anything via twrp so no issues
Based on my experience lol ????????????????
Official unlock is only successful for lucky ones
A lot of people have reported about the 50% error for which xiaomi's server are responsible
As far as unofficial unlock is concerned I don't know about which ones the safest and easiest method for 8.0.2.0
And is it possible to revert to miui if there is no earlier backup ?
From my experience.
When I got my hand on RN3, I update it to latest update, which is MIUI 8, stable version (Android 5).
Then try to unlock bootloader to flash custom rom. This is where my journey began.
Unlocking bootloader with Official method is not that hard.
- There is step by step guide from MIUI forum, although not everyone succeed with that method.
- My step:-
1. Apply permission from MIUI
2. Everyday login to MiUnlock Tool to see if I got permission already. (about two or three day of waiting)
3. Make sure Mi Account > Personal Info is same as MIUI Forum Account > Personal Info.
4. After that, I flash RN3 Fastboot Developer Rom (Android 6) with EDL, not with Fastboot using XiaomiFlashTool.
5. Once success flashing, setup phone like you going to use it, set MI Account and everything. Then reboot to fastboot.
6. Open MiUnlockTool and connect phone, and begin unlocking bootloader, and I got it success in no time.
My step to go back to MIUI (Stock Rom):-
1. Using RN3 Fastboot Developer Rom (Android 6), this one with bootloader locked.
2. Reboot phone to Fastboot mode, using XiaomiFlashTool to flash Stock Rom.
3. After that, setup as it is. Reboot again to Fastboot mode, and use MiUnlockTool to unlock again.
** Well that's for my experience. With such a hard and long journey.

currently i am on CM13 official ROM, i want to move back to miui official, which MI ROM i can use, i unlocked bootloader using unofficial method, if possible give me a link which has steps to flash miui rom. TIA.
1. Flash "safe twrp" recovery.
2. Perform nandroid backup of your phone.
3. Download MIUI ROM (recovery or dev, whichever you prefer)
4. Flash this MIUI ROM via safe twrp recovery.
5. Reboot
Important: Only use safe twrp recovery for this purpose.
Hello every one i would like to know how can i back up my official rom so if i flash a custome rom i can go back to the one i have right now? Do i need to root first? Is there a way to do it without root? I have officially unlocked bootloader and in case something goes wrong i would like to revert to original rom since it has auto updates.
As most xiomi redmi note 3 pros it doesnt go to recovery mode though.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you in advance.

1-you need to offically unlock bootloader
2-flash Redwolf TWRP
3-take a full Backup (all partitions) this not backup internal or external SD
4-copy internal storage (photos, documents) to PC or cloud.
5-wipe DATA on TWRP (this erase encrypt from data and internal, its necesary to install custom rom)
6-Install ROM and GAPPS what you want. like Nitrogen OS OREO, y recommend root with MAGISK 15, you can pass safetynet, playstore certified and hide root to certain apps like android paid.
Greetings,
I am planning to get a pocophone f1 and install lineageos 16 stable. Questions are:
1. Will it be possible to revert to the stock rom (to prove warranty or if i were to return it)?
2. How do you revert?
3. Is there a flashing tool for doing it?
4. Anyone done it?
Kind regards
1. Will it be possible to revert to the stock rom (to prove warranty or if i were to return it)? Yes
2. How do you revert? Use Mi Flash Tool and fastboot ROM
3. Is there a flashing tool for doing it? http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
4. Anyone done it? Many times, if you don't want to lock bootloader while doing it, don't choose clean all and lock
Cheers!!!
Thanks for answer.
I've found that to flash lineageos you need to flash a pie vendor. wondering in case of a revert, whether you need to flash stock vendor. I guess it gets flashed if I use flashtool and flash fastboot rom, correct?
secondly, if i relock bootloader, to reunlock, do i need to repeat same process as first time unlocking? or is it just a "fastboot oem unlock" command?
thirdly, should I be worried about xiaomi "anti rollback" feature? will it just prevent downgrade?

Yes, the tool would take care of it.

Same process as before, fastboot command doesn't work on Poco.
thirdly, should I be worried about xiaomi "anti rollback" feature? will it just prevent downgrade?
No, there is no "anti rollback" for Poco

Ans1 , yes you can revert back anytime, manytimes (always take backup because Miui encrypts data partition and custom rom has to wipe it so chances are you will loose you data .... but last week i flashed MIUI 10.3.4 Global Stable from lineage and then flashed havoc. i didn't loose any data (used latest twrp and magisk19 beta)
Ans2. there are 3 ways, download recovery rom and simply flash it via twrp ( which is the most common), OR download fastboot rom and flash it via miflashtool (by putting fone in fastboot mode) BUT this way you will DELETE ALL THE DATA and there is one button on MIFLASH called "flash and LOCK" if you by accident didn't uncheck it, chances are your boot will be LOCKED, so becareful. ---- the third method is EDL but you will never use that, it involves putting fone in edl mode (back panel is remove and two short points are touched via wire on motherboard and usb cable is plugged in and then fastboot rom is FLASHED by miflash tool, this usually done on BRICKED Xiaomi fones and MIFLASH asks for AUTHORISED ACCOUNT , which usually only few members have ,,, so this third method you will not use! ...
Ans3.. the popular tool to flash fastboot rom in fastboot mode and edl mode is MI FLASH (latest came out during May2018) but
(a) if your redmi/mi fone is mediatek base then you can try SP FLASHTOOL also! (never done)
(b) if your redmi/mi fone is qualcom snapdragon like redmi3s/ redmi max / redmi6 series / redmi5 series (snapdragon 430/625/660 and now Poco f1 on snapdragon 8x) then you can use QUALCOM's OWN Flashtool https://www.qpstflash.com/ ... i flashed lenevo via qualcom flasher once and it was successful! BUTTTT its HIGHLY NOT RECOMENDED!!!!! ,,, for poco f1. just stating here for your information
Ans4. recently bought Poco so NO, but i have flashed my REDMI 3s via miflash tool (EDL MODE) and then Redmi Note 5pro, i have flashed in fastboot mode so it works but you have to patience, REDMI/Mi is UNSTABLE devices (unlike Sony or Samsung) , and can easily be bricked and many time there are no solutions on miui forums for strange errors coming / poping up in miflash tool... like "cannot send zero packet data" etc etc
summing up..
anything can go wrong even if you are flashing ! so whenever you are flashing any custom rom or miui via twrp/miflashtool ALWAYS "cross your fingers"
I'm now on AEX 6.5 Version and I want to revert it to stock latest miui coz i'm giving it to my brother. Cant find anything usefull on youtube. I also need to lock bootloader for added security.
Up, help on getting my redmi 5+ back to stock miui.
use mi flashtool. download fastboot stock rom and flash via mi flash tool, select "clean and lock" option and then flash.
