Control phone via USB - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, my phone (Huawei P8) screen is broken, and I don't want to buy a new screen. But motherboard and camera is still working, and I'd like to use it as security camera or dashcam. Basically, it is a mini computer with octa-core 2GHz processor and 3GB of RAM, isn't it? So isn't there any way to install (flash) some linux on it and communicate via USB and CLI? Or is there some Custom ROM with screen mirroring feature enabled by default? I'm afraid, right now the USB Debugging isn't enabled on it, so classic ADB wouldn't work.

How to enable USB debugging if touch doesn't work

I bricked my phone so now touch doesn't work on my Galaxy S3. I want to use a windows tool Android Screencast so that I could still use my phone from my PC before I get the replacement part.
To be able to use it I have to enable USB debugging on my phone so that ADB will recognize my device. But as I said I cannot use touch screen. So is there another way to enable USB debugging? Or is there a ROM that has this function pre enabled?

[Q] Rescue S3 with broken display and digitizer and without USB debugging

Hi guys!
I have a Galaxy S3 with broken display and (MHL tested) broken digitizer.
Device works, I get home screen but can't unlock.
I would rescue the smartphone and I think that the way is using ADB (with [email protected], screencast or similar).
I don't have alternatives right?
The problem is that I can't use ADB cause actually it does not have USB debugging enabled.
Just a couple of questions:
Can I use ADB in recovery mode (without USB debugging)?
With MHL I get broadcast in home screen, not before, is that normal? How about MHL in recovery mode?
I can only imagine a solution: Go in recovery mode and execute a "no-look" change of ROM installing something with USB debugging option enabled by default.
Do you have other solutions?
Who can help me doing this? Does exist a "how-to" somewhere? Which ROM?
Thanks!!
Hello,
i had the same problem, i could solve it. Here is how i did it:
Click.
I first had to root the phone and also get a recovery on it (i think it enabled ADB).
The problem is the broken digitizer. You can't use the USB-Debugging because you need to confirm a popup from Android (i think it depends on the Version of Android).
Hope it helps.

Chuwi V10HD Boot Manager Obstacle

Chuwi V10HD 3G - The micro USB OTG port stopped working - charging works, but neither the Android or Windows OS recognize any USB devices plugged in to OTG. Have been emailing back and forth with GeekBuying.com post-sales support (seller) for several weeks now. They have been responsive and helpful, but I've still hit a wall.
They want me to flash the Chuwi with the latest firmware, suggesting that the OTG driver may be hosed. But, at some point you encounter the boot screen, and I need to move the highlight over "Boot Manager" icon and launch Boot Manager.
But I can't plug in a keyboard or mouse because OTG won't work. And no OS has booted - so touch screen doesn't work. And this micro USB port is the only USB port on the V10HD.
Support wants me to find someone who is comfortable with the flashing process - but how would that person launch Boot Manager without a keyboard or mouse?
I've heard that more recent Intel CPUs have a capability to let a remote PC stay connected during the entire boot process - but I don't think that works for these Broadwell CPUs. Is there any software I can install that would let me control this process remotely?
Can anyone help?

How To Enable OTG Without Installing An App In The Phone

Hi,
I broke the screen of my phone, and it is not responsive. Still I can see things and the phone is working. So to access the phone, I bought an OTG cable and connected an USB mouse to it. But it is not working (the mouse is not powering up). As I can not access my phone to install any apps or even if I install an app from browser, I can not open it. So is there a way to install any package or something which can enable the OTG support? My phone is rooted and I can access recovery mode.
Details of my phone:
Name: Karbonn titanium s5
OS: Android 4.2.2

Screen broken and no diaplay

Hi
Have honor 8 Pro. Screen broken and no display but phone is on only.
Need to take backup.
Adb don't show devices. Can't accept USB debugger
External display via type also don't work.
Mtp is not getting enabled when connect cable
@madroamer
I guess you'll not have any luck, this because USB mode ADB is basically the door to any Android device. Also take note that MTP only works if this USB mode got enabled on Android device.

If your bootloader is unlocked it might help, but this case smells like secure startup and I don't know if is it possible to bypass it by changing the boot, system, etc - whatever...
Used the USB-C to USB adapter from computer and connected a mouse to your phone. When the lock screen of your phone appeared, pit the code to unlock the screen. With this your will unlock the phone and turn on USB sharing.
