Hi,
I need help!!
I have been loading custom ROM's using CWM occasionally and yesterday when I tried to flash CM9 ROM my ATT S2 got stuck at boot screen. Then I tried to do a factory reset. Doing factory reset got me stuck at "Formatting Data" and it never moved from there for 1 hr then the phone started booting again. Ever since then I am not able to boot back. I have tried all possible options - every time I try I get stuck at Formatting /data. I tried installing Siyah-v2.6.14-att vis ODIN and tried to restore from my back up. It failed saying "Error while restoring / Data!". I installed factory stock rom via ODIN still the same. I tried wiping the data using darkside super wipe it too got stuck Formatting Data and nothing happened.
Is my data corrupted? I dont know what to do. Can some one please help? Should I try re-partitioning? I am bit scared to do that.

there are chances of the data partition getting corrupted... try flashing back to stock rom...
Hi, i flashed the new omega rom v27 to my rooted s3 (stock rom) with cwm. After boot i get this error "Your system uid's are inconsistent.you need to wipe your data partition unless your device will be unavailable."
I then did a factory reset in cwm and flashed again but it gave me the same error. Is this considered normal or is it an actual problem?
The i restored stock rom form cwm backup and had that exact same error! Well, i clicked "iam feeling lucky" and restored my apps since i did not know what to do next.
Don´t know yet if its running stable on the stock rom after this.
After three wipes and installs it works finally.
Same problem
I have the same problem on my lg l45c, i data wiped my phone from the android recovery after errors, then when i rebooted my phone it said system UIDs incosistent.please wipe he data partition, so i went back to recovery and wiped data/factory reset and then that still didn't work!!! So i clicked im feeling lucky and got a load of force closes my phone is functional but un-usable help me get my phone back. It is rooted running stock android 2.3.4 gingerbread.
Hi,
I am having some issues with my SGS2 and wondered if anyone had any suggestions before i send it back for repair. It is a stock sim free UK model, not rooted. There is no SD card installed just the internal 16gbyte flash.
I was noticing more force closes on apps than normal so i decided to reboot the phone. I then noticed that my recent text messages had disappeared back to the 19th Jan. So after sending some more i rebooted the phone again and they had gone..I then deleted all the text messages and sent some more, rebooted the phone and the old ones were back and the new ones had gone back to the same date.
I thought i would then just factory reset the phone and start over again. However it won't factory reset. It goes through the motions and sends me to the bootloader screen where i wipe data and clear cache. However still it refuses to delete the stuff on the phone or factory reset it!
Things i have tried..
-Factory reset both with security menu and keypad sequence
-Reset by going to bootloader from cold boot and wiping data and cache
-Mouting it as a usb flash drive in use developer mode and formatting the drive through windows (even this doesn't get rid of the photos on the flash drive)
-reflashing the default firmware with odin
Basically i cannot do anything to the phone to make it reset or delete any of the things on it. I can go into the gallery and delete all the photos but as soon as you reboot they are all back!
I don't want to root the phone to try and solve the problem as it may need to go back but as an engineer it is frustrating being beaten by a phone, so i wanted to see if i could get any advice from here.
Thanks in advance.
Help :crying:

I don't know if it's possible in the standard android recovery, but can you go into recovery, then mounts and storage, mount system, format system and do the same for data and cahe (mount and format). Everything will be lost! Then flash your firmware again through odin.

It looks to me that you've tried everything you could for a non rooted device.

Hheelp please
I can't understand. You tried to wipe data and cache ?
A friend of mine soft-bricked his old galaxy s2.
The phone is running a custom android 5.1 or 6.0 (I don't remember) that i flashed for him a few months ago.
He said he just disabled the google app (not sure why he did that) and the phone crashed and is now stuck in a bootloop.
Anyway I'm trying to enable the app back and hopefully fix the phone without having to wipe everything and flash back the system.
Does anyone know how/if it's possible from an adb shell in recovery mode ?
I tried the pm command but it just crash in recovery, probably because android is not running.
Maybe i could make it work with a chroot or something. No idea how to do that on android though.
Thanks for the help.
Hi,
In this situation, it would be best to wipe your phone. Avoiding wipes is not what you want to do as this could cause more problems instead.
You could try wiping system partition and cache partition. Reflash the ROM and gapps and see if that helps. You should still keep all of your apps this way and no personal data is affected.
Otherwise full wipe is the only option left.

Thanks for your help, i tried to wipe only system partition and cache but unfortunately the phone was still stuck in a bootloop. Tried then to manually remove all google apps and their data before reinstalling them but it didn't work either. I gave up and formated the data partition which fixed it as expected.
Hello, i have a problem with my friends phone (s6 edge). After some time it upgraded to 7.0.0 his googleapps crashed entirely, no playstore etc, so we had to restore it through the Samsung smart app -> emergency firmware etc after we took a backup of his files.
The phone was completely restored BUT after connecting to the wifi or data to connect online, the tittle message spam him all the time. Did so google research, even got to recovery to reset it again to factory but i had no luck. Custom Rom is a no-go since its still under warranty. I though of restoring it to 6.0.1 through odin but ive read thats not 100% working.
Any insights?
Thanks in advance

Try a package disable app to stop it from occurring.
