I found an issues with fingerprint
I add 5 fingerprint for 2 finger but
When I try other finger and rotate phone At the same time after multiple try The phone lock will open
It's not safe
Wait, you added 5 fingerprints for 2 fingers and are blaming the phone? Really?
Thanks for replying.
Now, I know something new.
And I found the reason for my law. And that was not the definition of a finger.
I can't explain the solution to you. But the fingerprint sensor works properly.
I can only say my settings was the problem.
Sorry
thanks
I think Mi A3 has a terrible security issue on this fingerprint. I have set my right finger print and all my colleagues were able to unlock my phone. First I thought one guy and I had some dimension same. But 5 of them unlocked it.This is totally annoying

So I bought XRN3 (Snapdragon) 2 days ago and loving it! There is insignificant bug with fingerprint scanner. So I scanned my index fingers and am using it. I scanned them in natural position (meaning placing finger with nail facing up to the 3.5mm jack and IR blaster). If I scan my finger by turning it 180 degree, phone still unlocks but locks right away, which means it works, but locks again for some reason. Same for other index finger. It doesn't happen all the time through, sometimes it just unlocks. Anyone having these too?
I'm on MIUI 8.1.1.0 Global Stable.
Maybe you are blocking proximity sensor.
Happens almost the same. It beahve very strange. It started working faster on MIUI8 so I thing they changed smth

Thanks! Tried. Doesn't helped I noticed that on MIUI7 there was less fingerprint reading errors. Tried to rewrite fingeprints settings several times. Don't know. But that doesn't bother me a lot.

Hello all,
I have recently purchased Poco F1 and I have faced a strange issue with my fingerprint sensor taking too long to recognize my finger ,I tried with multiple fingers and still its very slow compared with my previous MI A1 given that its only SD 625 and this one being SD845 ....
Do you guys have this issue?
P.S: If there is a fix please guide me.....
What issue are you referring to? I didn't have any.
Are you on latest stock ROM? I have no problems on EU latest. Maybe try factory reset?
It's weird. I think something is wrong with the Index finger on my right hand.
Fingerprint takes lots of time to unlock that too after 2-3 tries(occasionally)
You might have added your finger in incorrect orientation. Delete your finger. And add it back again while orienting the finger as if you picked your phone and now unlocking. Don't press it straight on the reader as if you were giving a mug shot.
Tried your methods too not working still its too slow for my Mi A1 works way faster than my POCO F1 !
I have a weird issue , only my right index finger works, rest all other fingers doesn't work , if i delete a fingerprint and re add them , they work for few hours , and then again failed to recognize
Is it any kind of bug or something wrong with my hand ?????
No problems here, the recognize it's really fast. Can be a hardware problem.
Anyone has the same problem like mine? about yesterday suddenly my fingerprint scanner on Xperia 1 doesn't work properly, always get alert "Not Recognize" my finger when i try to unlock with my finger.
i already tried, re-register my finger, washing my hands, restart myphone, but the censor always keep not recognize, sometime it can read but after 1 or 2 times try it will be back not recognize, anyone has the same issue? is this the software problem or my finger hw problem?

The software update that just got released a day or 2 ago sorts the issue

I had the same issue, even after updating to the new firmware. what i did was i restored/reset (Repaired) via the Xperia companion app. Now at least for me the fingerprint reader works flawless every single time.
So if formatting your phone is an option for you, that should work. (Was a pain re-installing all apps and re-setting all logins and all, but this really ironed out lot of issues for me)
I am on June update and I can tell you that formatting the device does NOT help. I don't have the July update yet to say if that they fixed the issue.
I hate the fact that it doesn't recognize my FP. It feels like Xperia Z5 all again. Then again FP is so deep seated and it's really difficult to use it when there's a case on.

Will update the result of update if the new firmware hit my region.
So far my fingerprint work flawless as it should be after no reason lol.
Xperia 1 - July Firmware FPR Lag Solved/Fixed
As i mentioned before, after the july firmware my FPR works mostly every single time. I guess every phone is different or maybe you can try what i did, it may just work for you.
I did a factory reset using the "Software repair" function in the Xperia Companion with the latest firmware, now the UI is amazingly smoother and the FPR reader works flawlessly.
I have made a small video showing exactly how good the reader works now. If you have the time please watch it and also follow the steps mentioned above if you have the time to restore all the apps and setting, but trust me its better than just living with an awful finger print function.

I'm on August update and I get this frequently. There is a bug somewhere on this and when I hit the fingerprint issue, I just restart the phone and its perfect again (well after initial pin login due to reboot haha)
It's quite annoying but haven't had time to figure it out. Something with music app running while locked or?
Hi, I just got my new tab s6. So far I love it but I have one problem. Fingerprint scanner stopped working after one day. It not recognize any fingerprint. I can't unlocked my device and even add new fingerprints after I removed old ones. Yesterday it works 9 oof 10 tries. Rebooting devices not help.

Have you installed a screen protector?
The fingerprint scanner is awful. I am on the newest November update and most of the time it's not able to read my fingerprint. I don't have a screen protector either.

No screen protector.
This generation of in screen FP readers really are disappointing. Same for my Note 10+.

My when works works very well. The scanner recognized my fingerprints 9 out of 10 but now I can't even add new fingerprint. Every time I put my finger on scanner I had Information to cover the entire scanner with your finger and try again.

I know that. It makes both of them no less disappointing.
For now, factory reset help. Fingerprint scanner works again. We'll see how long this time it will work.
Hopefully Samsung fixes it in the next update. I had fingerprint scanner issues from day one, it took me a few tries to even get my finger print registered.
I've only had my s6 for a few days, but I had no problem registering my fingerprints... and it works perfectly (and quickly) each time I unlock the tablet

My fp reader was fine until the 2.0 update recieved 11/12. You're advised to delete existing and rescan. Now very difficult to rescan. Don't do update or delete if you don't have to.

apart from this one incident, the fingerprint reader works better than I expected. correctly recognizes 9 out of 10 attempts.
I've had my share of grief with the fingerprint sensor on my Pixel 6, but it's totally usable and I was generally fine with it. Until I realised yesterday that all that oh-so complex and safe AI security procedure that allegedly makes the sensor so slow is complete bs.
I was sitting next to a friend who had never used an in-screen fingerprint sensor before and he wanted to mess around with it. After like 5 seconds he unlocked the phone. His left thumb was accepted by the phone. I was in utter shock. He was able to unlock the phone every single time without any problems whatsoever. So I thought ok, this might be rare, but there is a tiny chance that two people have very similar fingerprints. But needless to say, I was not able to unlock his iPhone with my fingerprint.
I have a few things that I dislike about the Pixel, but this safety concern feels major to me.
This has been recently publicised. There is a chance that other people may be able to unlock your 6.

it sure has been reported before but seeing it from others with the simplicity to bypass it is not just scary but hopefully embarrassing for Google and I hope they fix this.

Wow, hadn't heard about that yet. In the past I've heard that those simple face unlocks can be tricked by as little as a picture of someone, but I always thought fingerprint sensors would be precise and safe. Well, leave it to google to mess it up I guess.
I thought google hardware would be worth something in 2021, but this phone does not feel good at all.
Scary potential security problems indeed...
Did you have Smart Lock enabled? Did it actually scan the finger (i.e. did it get really bright on that part of the screen). The screen shows the fingerprint icon even when the phone is unlocked.
I didn't realise it was unsafe as well as being completely useless.
I have a use my pin to unlock it 50% of the time.
It also uses a CCD (i.e. camera) to read the fingerprint, so in theory, a picture of your finger should trick it into unlocking.
