Screen on time - Realme X2 Pro Real Life Review

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Realme X2 Pro before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Would be interesting to post SOT either in full 60 Hz and 90 Hz. I saw a video on YT showing a 10h SOT in 60 Hz ... that would be nice to see if it's reflected in the real world !

I averaged almost 13 hours of use and 7 hours and 11 minutes screen on time on 90hz all day. Best battery life I've had on a phone in a while

First day of use, reached 8 hours of SOT on 90Hz with heavy use : Antutu Benchmarks, PUBG, COD Mobile, YT, Clash Royale etc etc etc ... what a beast !

Eco mode is killing some apps in the background, stops the automatic sync, reduces the screen brightness and disables the vibrations. Also it also switches to 60 Hz. I wish I could use eco mode with 90 Hz.
I just didn't get some Clash Royale notification ... which I don't mind.
I used it during the week end when I tend to "disconnect" from emails, so it was not too much of a burden to miss some notifications. I still got other notifications like le monde or l'équipe or gmail.

Why don't you turn on eco mode then just go switch the screen refresh to 90hz?

Unfortunately, the option for 90Hz is greyed out as soon as you switch ON the Eco Mode

Not sure where it is in the CN version, on the EU it's under settings > battery > Eco energy mode

Has this phone Always on display?

Yes but it's very basic : apart from the Clock and the Current Date, not sure if it was showing any notification icon.
Worst case you can still use the notifybuddy app for a notification light replacement

Me too, maybe people just takes its display turned on. I have read too much unreal things, for my taste

with 90 hz i get less than 6 hours, with 90 hz i get 6hand 30m more or less. I asked for a new unit due to the 1st reaching only 4h of SOT. For me, battery is trully dissapointing, and i'm thinking on not sataying with the phone, despite how quick it is

7hr 24 min SOT at 90 hz with 12 min left on first full charge. A lot of web browsing and PUBG gaming. I used the camera a lot too.

Honestly I don't think it's normal. I have the exact same issue where my idle/sleep temp sits anywhere between 27 and 32 degrees. Doing some light tasks causes it to shoot up. Sometimes as high as 38 degrees (100 fahrenheit). At that point it just gets too hot to comfortably hold.
I've tried doing a factory reset, but that didn't solve anything for me. Not really sure what else is left to do. That's why I'm going to give my provider a call tomorrow and see if I can get it replaced.

How are you measuring the temperature? Mine gets hot as hell. According to CPU-Z the processors sometimes gets to 80 degrees Celsius ~ 176 Fahrenheit. The battery usually settle at 34 degrees Celsius while on heavy usage, but overall the phone gets really hot, sometimes uncomfortably so, but I never had any issues regardless, so I think that's normal.

I have used GSam in the past, it shows the same temp as CPU-Z uses for the battery. Life I said, it can easily get to 34 degrees, right now, for example, just from browsing XDA it is registering 33 degrees.
I guess this is the normal operation temperature. Unless you notice something odd happening, don't worry about it.

Heavy use endurance

Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the honor 5X's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.

Haven't faced any lag issue or anything with heavy usage and gaming.
on heavy usage its smooth no lag with normal heating.
At heavy use I experience mild to moderate heating.
heats up heavy usage.
Very noticeable heating while gaming.

Getting FPS(Frames per second)drops in games.

Hello everyone.

Buy another phone, not Huawei their Kirin processors are not good. They somehow perform well in benchmarks but they are a lot worse in real life than snapdragon or exynos (and of course apple)
I benchmarked many games... Maximum 10 min of gaming then there is thermal throttling because it gets too hot. Then fps drops 1/3 at least.
Just tested pubg on HDR setting and anti aliasing enabled. It starts with 40fps but after 5 min drops to 15-25fps and also lags, unplayable.
Even normal games with not so good graphics get fps drops after 10-15min like Sonic. Common Huawei, my sister is playing Sonic on a 250€ Samsung A5 2017
Look at the screenshots, it starts with 40fps but many lags and frame drops. After a couple minutes it drops to constant 20fps. The other shows CPU usage but that is not working obviously. Somehow it gets an average of 30fps but that's bs. It is not playable.
Yeah.. Same with me when i switch to HD settings of pubG it lags little bit.. But when i switch on HDR it become unplayable. I will upgrade to one plus soon.
Thanks
if you got root then disable the power genius app and restart. this app slows phone down to prevent overheat. i tested this with pubg and asphalt 8 at 60fps. constant 60 FPS even after 30 mins of gaming. with HDR i get constant 40-45.
PS: the phone will get warm because of 12 GPU cores so be in a cool room while playing.
same here. using m10p and lagging on PubG even on High settings. But it improved on the latest firmware (BLA-L29 C636 B138)
PUBG lagg on Mate 10 Pro not because of Kirin. It laggs because PUBG is not optimized game at all. Same for people that play PUBG throu their desktop computers. I watched my friend playing PUBG on his 2k PC and still gettin' FPS dropped and lagg. Although Mate gets hot after 10 till 20 minutes of gaming.
Interesting to read this, I have a Note 8 atm and I play a lot of PUBG, I'm about to trade my Note 8 in for a Mate 10 Pro (Don't judge) as I'm a little bored of my phone now and annoyed of the poor battery life and awful mono speaker. The Mate 10 Pro ticks more boxes for what I require, so I'm hoping a software update will fix the FPS.
I don't play PubG but I do however play the recently released Asphalt 9 which as far as I know is pretty intensive and get minimal heat and it runs smooth for well over a hour, I don't notice any FPS drop, I haven't checked statistically what it's running at while playing but if the drop was severe then I'd definitely notice it

Thanks for this info, sounds like I should expect similar to what I get at the moment then, maybe an improvement once the update comes out to boost the GPU.
I used to play Shadow Fight 3. Till the release of update 142 it worked flawlessly, even on longer playing sessions....then,dunno what brains of Huawei did,it became unplayable.

Sounds to me that they like bringing out these new features, meaning these new features are "let's break something that worked perfectly before"...that's the gist I've got off these forums.....I'm hoping I'm not going to regret my decision now I've ordered the Mate 10 Pro
Exactly. That was my thought too.
But I'm keeping it cuz of job and unrivaled battery life. As a business phone it's flawless.

One of the main reason I'm moving to the Mate 10 Pro is for battery life, it'll be nice to have a phone that can last a whole day with heavy use, my last phone that did that was iPhone 6s Plus.

High temperatures even with liquid cooling?

Playing pubG from 10 mins. Hitting 50+ on the celsius. Isn't this quite abnormal? Hasn't happened while playing pubG before. I'm running the latest update.
This is the CPUs temperature, to me its quite normal when playing heavy games...

Mine max was 45°C but it's quite normal and as we all know this is because of software problem and the fix is coming soon.
If you use CPU float, that's the CPU reading. And that could reach up to 50-63 degress, hell if you use antutu benchmark it can go all the way 93 C for a split second!
Battery seems to be in the 39-42 C range depending on the environment.

GPU CPU Usage

Hi Guys. I play Black desert mobile on poco and when I have High graphics the gpu usage is around 30% while the cpu is 25%. Everything is ok, I can't say something about that. The point is that when I set the graphics to max settings, the usage of the graphics card goes between 35% - 60% and the processor is around 35%. For this reason, I would like you to tell me, how much the usage of gpu affects the overall 'health' and performance of the mobile, if it matters at all . What I mean is, whether it is 30% or 60%, will it affect the mobile in general? For example, I can use max graphics all the time without damaging the phone?

Ok thank you. Are you sure though ? I mean have you checked if there is any difference between the battery power after and before playing for many hours ? Or with the performance in general? Because I can play sometimes many hours a day.
