Bug on music player for P20 Lite - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi there.
I own a Huawei P20 Lite and I have discover a serious bug on music.
The radio application works fine, but the Music Player plays the same monaural sound, on both earphones.
It hears like it's merged.
For example, if you download the following mp3 sample, you will hear both "left and right" at the same time, on both earphones...

I have try several music players and the problem remains.
However, the stereo feature on radio, works fine.
The monaural problem occurs only on Music Player.
Can you download this audio sample and test is on your P20 Lite?
Thanks in advance.

All ok for me, strange bug ,no suggestions what to do.
Didn't play with some sound mods, roots etc?

My friend, if you manage to playback this audio clip on P20 Lite and you hear it stereo... then you are a hero!
I just got a message from Huawei Greece, which says that P20 Lite, don't support Stereo Playback on music player.
So it's logical to playback monaural on the two earphones.

That looks like kinda bullsh*t.
I'm 100% sure, there need to be stereo on every phone. And for me it is stereo on every player, you need to be able to fix it using dload method, all files , settings will be erased.

I agree with everything you say.
However I am afraid to do format with dload method.
Can you verify that you do own a P20 Lite?
The feature "wifi calling" works for you?
I am asking because it's a feature that I love.

[Q] Headphones issue

I'm experiencing a problem with headphones. When plugged, they sound ok, but audio continues playing through external speakers.
I'm on FolioMod v 1.3d. Tried downgrading to 1.3c, but the same result.
Anyone experiencing the same or it's a hardware problem on my folio?
Thanks in advance.

It is another craziness of our Folio My personal work around is pairing Folio with a stereo BT headset - Nokia BT-214 works fine - but you have some limitations: you can't play lossless audio like .flac & .ape ( it's an Android issue) and audio/video sync problem playing .mkv movie with Rockplayer.

I am not completely sure it's not a hardware issue. On the forum many peoples says they don't have this problem and others have it rarely. My choice is to follow the Foliomod development hoping that the issue is solved. I have two years of time ( italian manufacturer´s warranty) to send Folio back to Toshiba technical assistance.
Very strange issue. I'm testing right now TuneIn Radio and Toshiba media player (playing an mp3 and an .avi video) and no headphones + speakers issue.
(Using Foliomod 1.3d)

It's a software issue, confirmed. And it's a "mod" software issue. I restored FolioStock to try changing my folio today and tried with stock firm. Headphones worked fine without sound through speakers.
It's a difficult issue to catch because headphones work fine at a very low volume, so external speakers are almost silent in normal use.
Please "Saint" Dexter, we know that you are very busy trying to adapt Honeycomb on Folio, but we beg you a little attention on this or a Honeycomb definitive solution. Thank you, without your mods, Folio would be almost unusable.

the folio stops playing the sound on speaker if you unplug and plug the headset again.after that you've got sound only at you'r headset.
It don't solve the sofware issue but it helps you to watch a porn and your wife don't hear it.lol

OK Google is not allowing to listen to Music on Redmi Note 3

Hi All RN3 users,
I am writing this from India, using a Redmi Note3 Snapdragon, 32gb, running MIUI Global 8.0.6.0
I have been using this RN3 since 2 months now. I am music fan and was happily listening to songs on Rocket Player and few other Music players with Philips Earphone which I had got with Philips 1GB Mp3 player many years ago. It was a TRS jack and was working fine.
Suddenly few days ago the earphone went dead. After this I have been trying few others like JBL Headphone, LG earphone(TRRS) etc.
Everytime I plug in the ear/headphone and switch on the music player, the song plays for about 4 seconds and then OK Google voice assistant opens up on its own and stops the music. Push it to background and manually resume the music, it appears again. With my old Philips earphone I never had this problem and the top bar icon was always of headphone only. Now it changes to earphone with mic icon before OK google appears.
I browsed the net for solutions, forced stop the google app, disabled voice detection in settings, tried rebooting, tried 2-3 new earphones but no use.
According to some users who are facing this problem, it is a earphone jack and audio port hardware issue, earphone is being mistaken somehow as microphone and so the voice app is appearing.
But it was not there with my old model Philips earphone
Even now this problem is not there when I am playing FM Radio !!
No problem when playing the music with Phone Speaker
But only when playing music from music player apps and with Earphones inserted.
From net browsing I learned that even other brands like LG G3, HTC, Galaxy phones are facing this and with good branded earphones like Sennheiser, SoundMagic, JBL.
Also this problem was not there with MIUI v8050.
Is it a bug or a hardware issue? Is my audio-port damaged?
PLEASE help me solve this. What is the guarantee that buying a new earphone would solve this issue?
Hey Google, It is NOT OK to stop playing music.
I was also facing the same issue, and no its not a hardware issue. I solved this issue by modifying mixer file in /system/etc/ by changing a line from HIFI to LP and then a reboot.
Can you please give detailed info how to edit that file. Full path where to locate that file.
My phone is not rooted, I don't know how to root. I hope the solution you have suggested doesn't need rooting.
Open Google > Settings > Voice > Hands Free > uncheck "For wired Headsets".
OK google Detection > Disable everything...
Try this and see if the problem was gone

Hi madkiran, I have tried doing this and sorry to say it did not help. What you have suggested is the only action we as non-expert users could attempt.
I fail to understand how despite disabling it pops up once music starts playing.

Bluetooth Codec problem

Hello,
Just bought a P20 Light and a pair of Pioneer Headphones SE-MJ553BT-K, the headphones support AAC codec but when I try to change the codec type from developer settings it jumps straight back to SBC.
The audio quality is by far better with the same headphones when using a iPhone and a Smart TV,
Does anyone know how I can change the output codec, an app or something else.
Thank you!
Got a response from Huawei România.
They said that they were abble to replicate the problem but they need more time to understand we're the problem is starting and time to fix it.
A update will be issued at a later time, but no time table mentioned.
I bought a new pair of Bluetooth headphones (MPOW Judge) and no have the same issues. I wanted to blame the headphones first, but on other devices they sound great. It's too bad ...
I have the same problem with P20 lite. My BeatsX sounds just AWESOME on iPhone of ANY model. Even on iPhone 5S they sound billion times better than on Huawei P20 lite. I am not able to change the codec. It is awful. Just awful. If you have a good headphones and want to enjoy the music - better to seek for some other smartphone brand.
If anyone knows any app or something to change the bluetooth codec PLEASE tell guys!
see my post here for a similar issue that I was able to workaround fairly easy
TLDR: You need root, edit your build.prop (using text editor, some app from the play store, etc) and change the following key: persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap
by removing -aac from the string.

sound

Is there equalizer app or something to improve sound?
Not while using headphones (aka not huawei sound effects)
My sound is very very low on latest update. I think Huawei broke something.
Question, does Mate 10 pro uses internal dac and sends analog signal trough USB port or it needs an active dongle with dac inside like Pixel and most phones?

I feel that too i think my sound speakers were louder when i first got it
They could improve it alot by allowing the earpiece act as stereo rather than high frequency
As i have stereo+ turned on so in youtube for example when i rotate the phone the sound experience really changes
As I've said elsewhere download equalizer pro. Works brilliantly and I use all the time with Spotify.

Most definitely. I am seriously considering downgrading my rom to an older os. It's just unbearably too low and tinny.

Can i see the icon of the app?
Or better a link?
Just look for Equalizer FX. Pro on Google play or other alternative APK places

Question [AUDIO ISSUE] When pausing or fast forward Audio (Music/Video) stuttering

Dear all,
I really love this phone.
But there is one thing, which is really annoying and I have this issue not with my Mi Mix 2s, that I used before.
It doesn't matter if there are headphones connected it is also when Audio is played over the speakers.
When I fast forward a Video (Youtube) or Music (Spotify, Soundcloud, Youtube) or press the Pause Button, I can recognize stuttering.
But the effect is stronger when bluetooth headphones are connected.
It is like a short stop then the audio plays again for a really short time and then finally stops.
So it is not really smooth as on my old Mi Mix 2s.
Is this a software bug? or should I send it back?
Thanks

What version Miui are you using .. have you tried playing around with the Bluetooth options under developer's settings .. I managed to overcome this problem in my Mi x6 .. I'm using beta EU rom and I haven't encountered this problem , however I only watch or listen to stuff I really like I don't use ff all that much .
Hi, I have the exact same problem with 2 different pairs of wireless headphones.
Did you find a fix to the issue?
so just pause in youtube and spotify and resume back it stutters?
I'm on 12.0.2 and no audio issues like that for me.
I only connect to my car and some air pod pros
